Search for T-violation in K^+ --> pi^0 mu^+ nu and K^+ --> mu^+ nu gamma Decays
The recent progress in search for T-violating transverse muon polarization in
the decays K^+ --> pi^0 mu^+ nu and K^+ --> mu^+ nu gamma in the on-going
experiment E246 at KEK is reported. Future prospects in polarization
measurements are also discussed.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, talk at the Conference of Nuclear Physics

Pinning down the kaon form factors in K^+ -> mu^+ nu_mu gamma decay
We find that the normal muon polarization in the decay K->mu nu_mu gamma is
very sensitive to the values of the kaon vector F_V and axial-vector F_A form
factors. It is shown that the ongoing KEK-E246 experiment can definitely
determine the signs of the sum of the form factors if their difference is fixed
from other considerations. This method can also verify the form factor values
and signs obtained from the K^+ -> l^+ nu_l e^+ e^- decays. A new experiment
with sensitivity to the normal and transverse muon polarizations of about 10^-4
will provide a unique possibility to determine the F_V and F_A values with a
few percent accuracy.Comment: revtex, 5 pages, 2 figures. Minor corrections made for the journal

Measurement of the decay form factors in the OKA experiment
A precise measurement of the vector and axial-vector form factors difference
in the decay is presented.
About 95K events of are selected in
the OKA experiment. The result is .
Both errors are smaller than in the previous measurements.Comment: 9 pages, 8 figure
Scintillator counters with multi-pixel avalanche photodiode readout for the ND280 detector of the T2K experiment
The Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) experiment is a second generation long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment which aims at a sensitive search for νe appearance. The main design features of the T2K near neutrino detectors located at 280 m from the target are presented, and the scintillator counters are described. The counters are readout via WLS fibers embedded into S-shaped grooves in the scintillator from both ends by multi-pixel avalanche photodiodes operating in a limited Geiger mode. Operating principles and results of tests of photosensors with a sensitive area of 1 mm2 are presented. A time resolution of 1.75 ns, a spatial resolution of 9.9 - 12.4 cm, and a detection efficiency for minimum ionizing particles of more than 99% were obtained for scintillator detectors in a beam test. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. A new limit of T-violating transverse muon polarization in the decay
A search for T-violating transverse muon polarization () in the
decay was performed using kaon decays at rest. A
new improved value, , was
obtained giving an upper limit, . The T-violation parameter
was determined to be Im giving
an upper limit, Im.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
