W zaprezentowanym artykule przedstawiono wyniki efektywności pomiarów aktualizacyjnych w oparciu o pięć przykładowych sekcji mapy w skali 1:1250 miasta Abu Dhabi (Zjednoczone Emiraty Arabskie). Pomiary były wykonywane technologią fotogrametrii cyfrowej z wykorzystaniem ImageStation oraz SSK firmy Intergraph. Ponadto w opracowaniu przybliżono problematykę digitalizacji stereoskopowej materiałów pochodzących z systemów klasy 2.5D

The role of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers in the development of Polish electrotechnical industry

The paper presents the role of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers in the development of the Polish electrotechnical industry. It presents also selected initiatives of the Association in the organization of the electrical industry in the period from regaining independence by Poland to modern times. Discussed in particular the contribution of the SEP in the preparation of the so-called Electricity Act of 21.3.1922 r., and also characterized the activity Association of Electrotechnical Companies and the Association of Polish Power Stations. In the final part of the work indicated the desired role of the SEP in the development of the country's economy in the twenty-first century and formulated recommendations for members of the Association.W referacie ukazano rolę Stowarzyszenia Elektryków Polskich w rozwoju polskiego przemysłu elektrotechnicznego. Przedstawiono wybrane inicjatywy środowiska Stowarzyszenia w organizacji przemysłu elektrotechnicznego w okresie od odzyskania przez Polskę niepodległości do czasów współczesnych. Omówiono w szczególności wkład SEP w przygotowanie tzw. ustawy elektrycznej z 21.03.1922 r., a także scharakteryzowano działalność Związku Firm Elektrotechnicznych oraz Związku Elektrowni Polskich. W dalszej części pracy przedstawiono wybrane kluczowe postacie szczególnie zasłużone dla jego rozwoju polskiego przemysłu elektrotechnicznego. W końcowej części pracy wskazano na rolę SEP w rozwoju gospodarki kraju w XXI wieku i sformułowano rekomendacje dla członków Stowarzyszenia

Reference model of overhead contact line system – concept of modeling

Górna sieć trakcyjna jest nadal najefektywniejszym sposobem zasilania kolejowych pojazdów elektrycznych. Wzrost prędkości pojazdów zwiększa pobór mocy oraz wymaga zapewnienia prawidłowej współpracy odbieraków prądu z siecią jezdną. Podejmowane są prace związane z komputerowym wspomaganiem projektowania sieci trakcyjnych. W tej pracy omówiono autorski model matematyczny sieci trakcyjnej w kontekście tzw. modelu referencyjnego oraz sposób wyznaczania jego parametrów. Do opracowania modelu wykorzystano metodę energetyczną Lagrange’a odniesioną do skupionych elementów zachowawczych oraz dyssypatywnych. Przedstawiono obliczenia mające na celu wyznaczenie parametrów obwodowych elementów skupionych. Dokonano porównania wyników symulacji z wybranymi badaniami laboratoryjnymi w celu dalszej weryfikacji założonej koncepcji modelu.Methods of modeling and computer-aided design for overhead catenary are now worldwide widely developed. The paper describes the concept of novel mathematical model of the OCL system. The main objective is to obtain accurate simulation results take into the heterogeneity of the OCL. The model was based on Lagrange energy method. The paper presents the structure of the model and equations describing it, as well as the results of some laboratory measurements that were performed to determine the model parameters of the contact wire. The established concept of the model can be used for preparation of computer tools which will support designers of overhead catenary line

The Ketogenic Effect of SGLT-2 Inhibitors—Beneficial or Harmful?

Sodium–glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors, also called gliflozins or flozins, are a class of drugs that have been increasingly used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) due to their glucose-lowering, cardiovascular (CV), and renal positive effects. However, recent studies suggest that SGLT-2 inhibitors might also have a ketogenic effect, increasing ketone body production. While this can be beneficial for some patients, it may also result in several potential unfavorable effects, such as decreased bone mineral density, infections, and ketoacidosis, among others. Due to the intricate and multifaceted impact caused by SGLT-2 inhibitors, this initially anti-diabetic class of medications has been effectively used to treat both patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and those with heart failure (HF). Additionally, their therapeutic potential appears to extend beyond the currently investigated conditions. The objective of this review article is to present a thorough summary of the latest research on the mechanism of action of SGLT-2 inhibitors, their ketogenesis, and their potential synergy with the ketogenic diet for managing diabetes. The article particularly discusses the benefits and risks of combining SGLT-2 inhibitors with the ketogenic diet and their clinical applications and compares them with other anti-diabetic agents in terms of ketogenic effects. It also explores future directions regarding the ketogenic effects of SGLT-2 inhibitors
