Impact of iron ore mining on the groundwater table in the Częstochowa ore-bearing

Niniejsza praca przedstawia charakterystykę zmiany poziomu wód podziemnych w związku z górnictwem rud żelaza w Częstochowskim Obszarze Rudonośnym, w szczególności na obszarze gminy Poczesna. W opracowaniu przeanalizowano zmiany poziomu zwierciadła wód podziemnych, jakie zaszły podczas najbardziej intensywnych prac wydobywczych, które miały miejsce w latach 1946 – 1982 w okolicach Częstochowy. Na podstawie analiz potwierdzono, że w przeszłości na terenie Częstochowskiego Obszaru Rudonośnego występował rozległy lej depresyjny. Następnie zbadano aktualny poziom zwierciadła wód podziemnych poprzez pomiary w studniach gospodarskich w celu wskazania wpływu górnictwa rud żelaza na współczesny poziom zwierciadła wód podziemnych w gminie Poczesna. Wyniki badań dowodzą o wypełnianiu się leja depresji po zaprzestaniu wydobycia rud żelaza, które nastąpiło w latach 1974-1982, ale nie wskazują współcześnie istotnych zmian poziomu zwierciadła wód podziemnych.This work presents the characteristics of changes in the level of groundwater in connection with the mining of iron ores in the Częstochowa ore-bearing area, in particular in the area of the Poczesna commune. The study was analyzed the changes in the level of the groundwater table that occurred during the most intense mining works that took place in the years 1946 - 1982 near Częstochowa. Based on the analysis, it was confirmed that in the past in the Częstochowa ore-bearing area was a large cone of depression. Next, the current level of the groundwater table was examined by measuring in household wells in order to indicate the impact of iron ore mining on the contemporary level of the groundwater table in the Poczesna commune. The results of the research show that the cone of depression has been filled after the cessation of iron ore production, which occurred in the years 1974-1982, but they don’t indicate significant changes in the level of the groundwater table today
