The authors conducted a scientific and economic experience in LLC "Alyona". For research on the principle of analogues from chickens of the Rhodonite-2 cross, 2 groups (400 heads each) were formed from the daily age, taking into account gender, body weight and physiological condition. The duration of rearing of the repair young was 17 weeks, after which the bird was transferred to the laying hens workshop. The planting density, light mode, and feeding front of birds of all groups were the same and corresponded to the norms of VNITIP. Feeding was carried out with the same full-fledged compound feed, balanced in all nutrients and metabolic energy, with the inclusion of a probiotic SUB-PRO in the feed mixture of the experimental group. The introduction of a probiotic into the diet when raising chickens up to 13 weeks of age ensured a higher safety of young animals in the experimental group. The addition of a probiotic reduced feed costs. During the growing period of 1-13 weeks, feed costs per 1 kg of growth were lower in the experimental group, by 3.3% for 14-21 weeks and by 3.9% during the experiment period

Direct acting antivirals eliminate HCV, unless it is drug resistant, and partially reverse liver disease, but they cannot cure HCV-related cancer. A possible remedy could be a multi-component immunotherapeutic vaccine targeting both HCV-infected and malignant cells, but also those not infected with HCV. To meet this need we developed a two-component DNA vaccine based on the highly conserved core protein of HCV to target HCV-infected cells, and a renowned tumor-associated antigen telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) based on the rat TERT, to target malignant cells. Their synthetic genes were expression-optimized, and HCV core was truncated after aa 152 (Core152opt) to delete the domain interfering with immunogenicity. Core152opt and TERT DNA were highly immunogenic in BALB/c mice, inducing IFN-γ/IL-2/TNF-α response of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. Additionally, DNA-immunization with TERT enhanced cellular immune response against luciferase encoded by a co-delivered plasmid (Luc DNA). However, DNA-immunization with Core152opt and TERT mix resulted in abrogation of immune response against both components. A loss of bioluminescence signal after co-delivery of TERT and Luc DNA into mice indicated that TERT affects the in vivo expression of luciferase directed by the immediate early cytomegalovirus and interferon-β promoters. Panel of mutant TERT variants was created and tested for their expression effects. TERT with deleted N-terminal nucleoli localization signal and mutations abrogating telomerase activity still suppressed the IFN-β driven Luc expression, while the inactivated reverse transcriptase domain of TERT and its analogue, enzymatically active HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, exerted only weak suppressive effects, implying that suppression relied on the presence of the full-length/nearly full-length TERT, but not its enzymatic activity. The effect(s) could be due to interference of the ectopically expressed xenogeneic rat TERT with biogenesis of mRNA, ribosomes and protein translation in murine cells, affecting the expression of immunogens. HCV core can aggravate this effect, leading to early apoptosis of co-expressing cells, preventing the induction of immune response.publishersversionPeer reviewe

Dynamics of desertification of arid ecosystems of Kizlyar pastures

    Get PDF
The authors conducted research to identify the sources of formation of sand massifs, which then become the main cause of desertification of the territories of Kizlyar pastures, in order to carry out protective measures. In the article, the authors present materials confirming desertification and its ecological aspects. The ecological state of arid territories of Russia is one of the most acute problems that requires constant monitoring. Global changes in climatic conditions have a significant impact on the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems, including the soil cover. With the warming of the climate, the development of the processes of wind erosion and soil salinization increases. As a result, the pastures of Kizlyar were driven into extreme conditions. Pastures have come to an extremely critical state, and the degree of degradation of damage caused by these processes is much higher than other regions of the European South of Russia. The ecological situation of the territory is deteriorating rapidly. According to various estimates, large areas of them are occupied by open sands – 60.0 - 71.3 thousand hectares. As the analysis of the experience of the work carried out on the Kizlyar pastures shows, their effectiveness was extremely low, and in some places they contributed to the strengthening of the development of natural degradation processes. As a result, destabilizing factors have emerged that ensure the production of established phytocenoses, worsening conditions and progressing every year. At present, there are practically no improved pasture lands with natural vegetation in the Tersk-Kum lowland. In the current situation, the priority is to stop the activity of moving sands, as well as to improve the state of the species diversity of vegetation, otherwise, if these processes continue at the same pace, it may endanger the very existence of pastures and the basis of life in this territory

The article presents data on the comparative study of beef production in the conditions of stable-pasture and industrial technologies. For this purpose, in the first series of experiments in the breeding farms of Antonovskoye CJSC and Energia LLC, 40 black-and-white bulls (group 1), Kalmyk (group 2) and Hereford breeds (group 3) were formed. Black-and-white bulls were individually kept in a dispensary, 15-day-olds were grouped into 20-30 heads and were tied up in a calf coop using farm pastures. Calmyk and Hereford bulls up to 7-8 months of age were raised in both farms with mothers on full suckling. After weaning from mothers, 20 8-month-old bulls from each group were kept together, in conditions of stable-pasture technology with the expectation of obtaining 800-900 grams of daily gain. 20 8-month-old bulls of each group for the second series of tests were implemented for rearing at the Agro-Park-Razvilnoye industrial complex LLC and had free access to self-feeders with concentrates and coarse feed. In the first series, the daily increase was 749-804 g, and in the second series – 1275-1360 g, with an advantage in favor of gerefords. Therefore, the live weight of 18-month-old bulls, respectively, by birth was 619.0; 646.6 and 657.7 kg, or 178-192 kg more than with stable-pasture technology (P>0.999). At the control slaughter, the Herford bulls were highly reliably superior in both series of experiments in terms of carcass weight, muscle tissue and slaughter yield. However, the profitability of production in the first series of experiments is 1-2% higher, and the live weight is 29-30% lower

    Get PDF
In recent years, great importance has been attached to the preservation and strengthening of public health, the role of disease prevention and the formation of a healthy lifestyle, including the formation of a culture of healthy nutrition of the population. Prolonged improper, irrational nutrition is a factor of increased risk of developing diseases: oncological diseases, alimentary risk factors of which are the presence of carcinogenic additives in food products; diseases of the cardiovascular system; obesity; disorders of the gastrointestinal tract due to the low content of dietary fiber in food; osteoporosis is a change in the composition of bones due to the loss of calcium. The analysis of the nutrition structure of the Russian population indicates significant deviations from the recommendations on rational norms of food consumption that meet modern requirements of a healthy diet. In this paper, a matrix method of developing a formula for a fermented milk product with a high protein content is considered by enriching yogurt with vegetable components: hemp flour, jerusalem artichoke syrup and agave syrup. Using the obtained recipes, samples of fermented milk products were prepared and tasting was carried out. According to the organoleptic results, the expediency of using the matrix method of computer modeling in the development of formulations of fermented milk products is confirmed. The resulting yogurts can be recommended for use by people with diabetes and those who lead a healthy lifestyle, because the protein content in the samples has been increased to 3.7% and the introduction of sugar is excluded

Food additives that allow regulating functional and technological properties, providing qualitative and quantitative characteristics of finished products are essential in meat technologies. Flax seed processing products, due to the high concentration of functionally valuable components and pronounced technological properties of protein and polysaccharides, are an ideal component for replacing meat raw materials in sausage products. The purpose of the work is to develop the technology of meat products enriched with biologically active additives of plant origin based on flax seeds. The theoretical part of the research was carried out on the basis of the Department of Food Technologies of DonGAU, the development of experimental batches of products was carried out in the production conditions of LLC “Meat Processing Plant”, Razvilnoye village, Peschanokopsky district, Rostov region. The purpose of the research is to study the possibility of using flax seeds as a protein additive in sausage production technology. It has been established that the introduction of flax seed additives into the formulations of meat products improves the organoleptic and physico-chemical characteristics of finished products. The prototypes were distinguished by a more delicate consistency and higher uniformity of minced meat on the cut, an increase in the mass fraction of protein and a decrease in the proportion of fat were also noted

The disease of the lower urinary tract in cats is clinically significant pathology affecting about 7% of cats. Idiopathic feline cystitis (ICC) is diagnosed in more than half of cases of lower urinary tract disease in cats under the age of ten years. The cat HCC is a diagnosis of exclusion, in other words, urolithiasis and bacterial infections of the urinary tract should be excluded from the diagnosis. There are several reasons leading to the occurrence of diseases of the lower urinary system of cats. However, the idiopathic form of this disease (idiopathic cat cystitis) is one of the most common today. Stress, as it is now known, plays a very important role in the initiation and/or aggravation of the course of HCC. Worldwide, idiopathic cystitis is the most common cause of diseases of the lower urinary tract of cats, both males and females. The development of effective methods for the treatment of idiopathic cystitis in cats is one of the promising areas of veterinary science and practice. The article presents the results of studies obtained in assessing the effectiveness of the use of the drug “Furinaid” in complex therapy in the treatment of idiopathic cystitis in cats. Based on the obtained research results, it was found that 100% of the animals recovered in all the test groups, which indicates that the animals were properly treated, but the scheme using the drug “Furinaid” was therapeutically more effective. Therefore, it can be argued that in pharmacotherapy of idiopathic cystitis in cats, the use of drugs containing glucosaminoglycans is of great importance
