Against the Media ā The Media of Resistance
Contemporary praxis of mediation, and a phenomenon usually known as Ā»media theoryĀ«, brings with itself the issue of epochal break with traditional culture of textuality, and all inherited ways of knowledge transmission. This represents conceptual narrowing of media to machines for electronic and digital processing of verbal, visual and sonic information.
McLuhan`s hot media of print and papers were replaced, at the beginning, by cold media of TV and movies, and finally, by even cooler medium, the computer, and Ā»the coolest of all cold beastsĀ« ā the mobile phone! This paper is directed against media. But, for critical discourse on media and its manipulative role, it is necessary to know how to use properly ā the very same media! Besides this, it is the intention of this strategy to use it as political weapon/toolkit. Only then, we should say that post-ideological ideology of overwhelming domination of culture is deconstructed. Ā»The world after mediaĀ« (Agentur BILWET) is in fact a political slogan that leads this paper
(Digital) Theory or Philosophy? On Meaningfulness of Philosophical Engagement
Question asked in this presentation is: does philosophy has any sense in overwhelming atmosphere of theoretic discourse, most often shaped by digital technology? Does philosophy still has the power of social engagement? Do philosophers have still been invited to explicate Ā»social lifeĀ«? Following the example of one digitally predetermined theory (RoÅ”ko) the dangers of non-inclusion (primarily radically found out) philosophy in contemporary discourses have been put into consideration. Yes for Philosophy, but N o for empirical transparency of Ā»philosophersĀ« on local

IN SEARCH OF THE COMMUNITY. SOME PHILOSOPHICAL ELABORATIONS OF (BIO)POLITICAL THEORY
Älanak pokuÅ”ava ponovno iznijeti na svjetlo dana filozofsko pozicioniranje
moguÄnosti konstitucije (politiÄke) zajednice. Jedno od osnovnih pitanja svake
politiÄke teorije jest upravo ono o zajednici stoga Å”to je paradigma liberalne
demokracije, koja prevladava u suvremenom svjetskom poretku, posve potisnula
aktualitet pitanja o politiÄkoj zajednici. Älanak nas u temu uvodi preko
biopolitiÄke filozofije. Radi se ponajprije o elaboracijama Roberta Esposita
o zajedniÄkom korijenu termina communitas i immunitas.
This article attempts to bring out again into the light of day the philosophic
positioning of the possibility to constitute a (political) community. One of
the basic questions of every political theory is precisely the one regarding
community, since the paradigm of liberal democracy, which prevails in the
contemporary world order, has completely suppressed its actual relevance.
The article introduces its subject matter through biopolitical philosophy. This
refers, above all, to elaborations of Roberto Esposito on the common root of
the terms communitas and immunitas. Furthermore, a highly relevant analysis
of the philosophical approach to community is derived, as undertaken by
Jean-Luc Nancy, which is followed by Espositoās attempt at establishing a
connection between democracy and community. Finally, it is attempted once
more to conceive possible philosophical, but also practical ways of thematizing
community
