New type of ensemble of quasi-periodic, long-lasting VLF emissions at the auroral zone

A new type of the series of quasi-periodic (QP) very low frequency (VLF) emissions in frequency range of 1–5 kHz, and not associated with geomagnetic pulsations, has been discovered at auroral latitudes (<I>L</I> = 5.3) during the Finnish VLF campaign (held in December 2011). At least five unusually spectacular events, each with a duration of several hours, have been observed during the night under conditions of quiet geomagnetic activity (Kp = 0–1), although QPs usually occur during the daytime. Contrary to the QP emissions typically occurring during the day, the spectral structure of these QP events represented an extended, complicated sequence of repeated discrete rising VLF signals. Their duration was about 2–3 min each, with the repetition periods ranging from ~1 min to ~10 min. Two such nighttime non-typical events are reported in this paper. The fine structure of the separated QP elements may represent a mixture of the different frequency band signals, which seem to have independent origins. It was found that the periodic signals with lower frequency appear to trigger the strong dispersive upper frequency signals. The temporal dynamics of the spectral structure of the QPs studied were significantly controlled by some disturbances in the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF). This finding is very important for future theoretical investigations because the generation mechanism of this new type of QP emissions is not yet understood

The results of the study of the experience of the crisis of the «empty nest» in women and men have been presented. The interrelations of subjective feeling of loneliness and characteristics of family relations and life orientations in men and women, experiencing the crisis of «empty nest» have been revealed. Levels of subjective feeling of loneliness separately in group of husbands and wives have been studied. Significant differences in the experience of the «empty nest» crisis depending on education and living together separately from children have been highlighted. Psychological recommendations for prevention of parents’ maladjustment in the situation of «empty nest» have been given

Psychological characteristics of women who choose conscious childlessness

The article provides a review of the study of the problem of childlessness in foreign and domestic literature is presented. The results of the author’s research, revealing the psychological characteristics of women, choosing conscious childlessness, are presented. The characteristics of women who consciously choose childlessness for themselves and women with children have been described and analysed by a questionnaire to identify the dominant instinct, the questionnaire “Reproductive Motives”, the California Psychological Questionnaire. Among the psychological traits of childfree women, dominant traits aimed at social and interpersonal relationships, abilities for status, independence and flexibility, achievement through submission and through independence prevail, etc. They are aimed at domination, control of themselves and their lives, receiving material and social benefits from life, moreover, they do not want to bind themselves with responsibility for other people in general, and for children in particular

Features of emotional burnout during the pandemic of nurses with different professional experience

The article examines the phenomenon of emotional burnout in representatives whose work is carried out through the interaction of «person-person» in medical workers. In an emergency situation, medical workers are affected by a greater number of stressful factors than before, so the problem of emotional burnout, characteristic of all representatives of professions of a socionomic profile, becomes even more urgent. With the help of methods “Diagnostics of emotional burnout of personality” V.V. Boyko, “Study of the level of empathic tendencies” I.M. Yusupova, Spielberger-Khanin anxiety scale based on the results of mathematical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U-test, the relationship between the professional experience of nurses and the severity of the burnout syndrome is considered. In addition, a high correlation was found between the level of empathy among nurses and the severity of symptoms of emotional burnout. The relationship between the anxiety of nurses and the experience of professional activity has not been revealed. The results indicate that prevention is a necessary link in the fight against emotional burnout of nurses

Eolation dynamics in the shore of artificially impounded bodies (by the example of Bratsk water reservoir, Russia)

Οι αιολικές διεργασίες στην παράκτια περιοχή κοντά στον ταμιευτήρα του Bratsk έχουν ως αποτέλεσμα γεωμορφολογικές μεταβολές και ενεργοποιούν διαβρωσιγενείς διαδικασίες. Το επίπεδο της στάθμης του ύδατος, και οι ανεμολογικές συνθήκες αποτελούν δυναμικούς παράγοντες των αιολικών διεργασιών, οι οποίες εμφανίζουν κυκλικό μοντέλο πρωτίστως συσχετιζόμενο με τη χρονική διάρκεια της χαμηλής στάθμης. Οι αιολικές διεργασίες διαφέρουν στο ρυθμό ιζηματογένεσης, στη στάθμη του ύδατος και στη μορφολογία των αιολικών ανάγλυφων μορφών και μελετήθηκαν σε τομές αποθέσεων θινών. The eolation processes that differ in sedimentation rate, water level and morphology of eolian relief forms ranging from mere sand blowing to travelling dunes have been phased in studies of the sections of dune sand deposits.
