    Investigation of the adhesion properties of organic dust suppressants

    The authors of the article have developed and proposed for use a new environmentally safe organic dust suppressing compound. The article presents an overview and analysis of the most common organic dust suppressants , describes their features and characteristics. Methods for determining the adhesive properties of solutions have been studied, a proprietary technique has been proposed, and a stand has been developed for assessing the adhesive properties of dust-suppressing solutions applied to dusty surfaces of highways. The adhesion ability of environmentally safe dust control solutions, which have a natural basis and are used for dedusting linear and area sources of dust formation, was evaluated and analyzed. It was found that ginger oil has the lowest adhesion capacity (225.8 Pa), the highest is an aqueous solution of beet molasses (414.9 Pa)

    The natural aspects of the accident risk at the Pascuales – Cuenca multiple-use pipeline (Ecuador) are analysed in the paper. The Russian Methodological recommendations for the quantitative analysis of accident risks at hazardous production plants of oil trunk pipelines and oil product trunk pipelines issued in 2016 are used as a methodological framework due to relatively poorly defined evaluation mechanism for natural factors of accidents at oil trunk pipelines in the most widespread international accident risk assessment methodologies. The methodological recommendations were updated to meet the environmental conditions of oil pipelines of Latin America. It was found that the accidents due to natural factors make up approximately 15 % of cases at oil trunk pipelines in Ecuador. Natural geographical features of the areas surrounding the main Ecuadorian Pascuales–Cuenca oil trunk pipeline and its relatively short length allow defining three zones along the line in terms of the accident risk: lowland coastlines, high plateaus, and foothills. Calculations and analysis revealed that the maximum predicted specific frequency of accidents is characteristic of the lowland seaside area. The evidence showed that physical and chemical properties of soils and significant seismic activity are the root causes of failures

    The Fluorescein Angiographic Signs of Aggressive Posterior Retinopathy of Prematurity

    The purpose is to study the fluorescence angiographic signs of posterior aggressive retinopathy of prematurity. Patients and methods. A prospective study of 83 infants with aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity (APROP), who were on treatment in the neonatal center in 2012–2018 years. Gestational age was between 22 and 30 weeks. Depending on the diagnostic methods, patients were divided into two groups: 1 (main) — 51 (61.4 %) children who, in addition to standard ophthalmic examination methods, received 132 series of FA using a pediatric retinal camera RetCam3; 2 (control) — 32 (38.6 %) children without FA. After the procedure, the somatic state of the child was monitored for 24 hours for the registration of drug dye side effects. Results. Angiographic predictors of the disease and objective signs of APROP manifestation were presented in group 1 children a week earlier than in the group 2. This made laser treatment possible on 2.0 ± 0.5 weeks earlier in the group 1 (32.8 ± 1.2 weeks) compared to group 2 (34.8 ± 1.7 weeks) (p < 0.05) and to increase its efficiency by 8.2 % (86.3 and 78.1 % respectively). Conclusion. Comparative analysis of angiograms and color fundus images obtained with RetCam3 in the studied groups of children demonstrates the advantages and safety FA for the detection angiographic predictors of APROP, early objective signs of disease manifestation, it provides timely and effective laser treatment of complicated categories of very premature infants
