    Particle dynamics in non-uniform magnetic field for a slab and a cylinder is presented. The presence of electric field with low frequency drift (LFD) and lower hybrid drift (LHD) waves is considered. Drift waves as the possible cause of an anomalous transport in plasma are used in calculations. Non-stationary fluctuations of the electrostatic field of the plasma waves are modeled.     Dispenser for water sampling from supercritical convection loop

    Since 2009, the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology is working towards the development of equipment and methods for testing the materials for reactors SCWR (STCU project P4841). Supercritical water convection loop with a vessel, which is exposed to electron irradiation of the electron accelerator LU-10 (8…10 MeV, 10 kW), provides an opportunity to study corrosion and mechanical damage of sample materials. Small quantity water sample (1…3 ml) dispenser is designed for sampling the water out of the loop which is under 23.5 MPa pressure.С 2009 года в Харьковском физико-техническом институте ведутся работы, направленные на разработку оборудования и методологии для оценки реакторных материалов, предназначенных для реакторов SCWR (проект УНТЦ P4841). Специально разработана в ХФТИ сверхкритическая водяная конвекционная петля с камерой для облучения ускорителем электронов ЛУ-10 (8…10 МэВ, до 10 кВт) дает возможность изучения коррозии и механических повреждений материалов при облучении пучком электронов. Разработан дискретный дозатор для отбора проб воды (1…3 мл) из системы, находящейся под давлением 23,5 МПа.З 2009 року в Харківському фізико-технічному інституті ведуться роботи, що спрямовані на розробку устаткування та методології для оцінки реакторних матеріалів, призначених для реакторів SCWR (проект УНТЦ P4841).     Over the last five decades, AGN studies have produced a number of spectacular examples of synergies and multifaceted approaches in astrophysics. The field of AGN research now spans the entire spectral range and covers more than twelve orders of magnitude in the spatial and temporal domains. The next generation of astrophysical facilities will open up new possibilities for AGN studies, especially in the areas of high-resolution and high-fidelity imaging and spectroscopy of nuclear regions in the X-ray, optical, and radio bands.     A general synthesis of unnatural α-amino acids by iron-catalysed olefin-olefin coupling: Via generated radicals

    Herein, we report an efficient and practical protocol for the asymmetric synthesis of unnatural α-amino acids (AAs) with γ-tertiary and quaternary carbon centres via selective intermolecular iron-catalysed olefin-olefin coupling of a chiral Ni(ii) complex of dehydroalanine Schiff base 2 ((S)-BPB-Ni-Δ-Ala) with different olefins. In all successful reactions, diastereomeric nickel complexes were typically obtained in a ratio of up to dr > 20:1. The desired products were isolated in 42-93% yields (18 examples). Exemplarily, the three Ni(ii) complexes obtained were decomposed with aqueous HCl and the target unnatural α-amino acids were isolated with excellent enantioselectivities and yields of up to 83%. The chiral auxiliary (BPB = 2-(N-benzylprolyl)aminobenzophenone) was readily recycled and reused for the synthesis of the starting chiral Ni(ii) complex 2. The developed protocol provided a facile access to the analogues of glutamic acid, leucine and phosphinothricin. © the Partner Organisations 2019

    Continuous-wave all-fiber MOPA with SBS phase conjugate mirror

    A CW Nd:YAG master oscillator - fibre power amplifier (MOPFA) with fiber based SBS phase conjugate mirror is reported. A two-pass amplifier configuration is employed to compensate beam distortions in the multi-mode diode pumped Yb-doped fiber amplifier in conjunction with a fibre phase conjugator. The compensation of distortions is observed with ~30% of the total reflected power being of diffraction limited quality. Possibilities for improving the beam quality and power scaling in this system is proposed
