VLSI Multiple Microcomputer Technology Applied to Real-Time Simulators

    Get PDF
VLSI technology, embodied in state of the art microprocessors and microcomputers, has implied a computer system architecture that offers the possibility for extensive standardization, modularity, and performance improvements that can significantly impact and reduce the lifetime costs of real-time simulators. This report discusses one such system. Both the hardware and software aspects of the system are examined

Approaches to Pyranuronic β-Sugar Amino Acid Building Blocks of Peptidosaccharide Foldamers

    Get PDF
Pyranuronic β-sugar amino acids (β-SAAs) are biocompatible and tuneable building blocks of foldamers and chimera-peptides. The scalable and economical total synthesis of two building blocks is described here. These C-4 epimers, Fmoc-GlcAPU(Me)-OH (7) and Fmoc-GalAPU(Me)-OH (8), which are suitable for solid phase peptide synthesis, were prepared via a common oxime intermediate 16. The new synthesis uses nine consecutive steps, starting from methyl α-d-glucopyranoside (6). The synthesis is fine-tuned, optimized, and ready for large-scale and cost-efficient production

Griselda Margarita Lechler speaks about the notions of “community” and equality. She has spent 25 years in San Antonio and was able to provide a conscious awareness of her surroundings and feelings towards the area. She firmly believes the city, while “large” in population, still holds onto a strong connection to the “small town feel.” She believes this supports the notion of community and the idea of embracement. The interview was positive, filled with excitement about the city’s growth – both over the time she has resided here and moving into the future
