The Ward Identities of the Gauge Invariant Three Boson Vertices
We outline the pinch technique for constructing gauge invariant Green's
functions in gauge theories and derive the Ward identities that must be
satisfied by the gauge invariant three boson vertices of the standard model.
They are generalizations of their tree level Ward identities and are shown to
be crucial for the delicate gauge cancellations of the S-matrix.Comment: 6 pages Latex, uses revtex[aps, aipbook, floats]. To appear in the

Optimal securities under adverse selection and moral hazard
We consider project financing under adverse selection and moral hazard and derive several interesting results. First, we provide an explanation of why good firms issue both debt and underpriced equity (even if the bankruptcy and agency costs of debt are zero). Second, we show that, in the presence of moral hazard, adverse selection may induce the conversion of negative into positive NPV projects leading to an improvement in social welfare. Third, we provide a rationale for the use of warrants. We also show that a debtâwarrant combination can implement the optimal contract. Our results have a number of testable implications
Proxy documents as a source of measurement error in the Comparative Manifestos Project
This paper considers the issue of document type diversity in the Comparative Manifestos Project (CMP). For many years the CMP has been collecting and coding a variety of documents, such as speeches, pamphlets, newspaper articles and leaflets, as manifesto proxies. By using previously unexplored archival material to perform controlled comparisons between different types of documents, this paper argues that the coding of such documents introduced considerable measurement error to party position estimates. Statistical analyses indicate that this measurement error is systematic rather than random as it is often manifested as centrist bias in parties' leftâright position estimates. Consequently, the paper argues that random error correction methods cannot always correct for error attributed to the coding of proxy documents. The paper concludes with some recommendations for third-party users of the CMP data and documents and a plea to the CMP research tea
Becoming - An Anthropological Approach to Understandings of the Person in Java
'Becoming - An Anthropological Approach to Understandings of the Person in Java' is an ethnographic monograph that examines the ways in which the peoples of a peri-urban locality in East Java, Indonesia conceive of the person, by looking at how their everyday practices relate to understandings of ethnicity, kinship, Islam and gender. The volume is also a thought experiment that aims to make a theoretical contribution to the discipline of anthropology by proposing the concept of the 'diaphoron' person and re-deploying the method of 'total ethnography'

Information Based Estimators for the Non-Stationary Transition Probability Matrix: An Application to the Danish Pork Industry
A generalised cross entropy instrumental variables estimator is used to recover the non-stationary transition probability matrix for the Danish pork industry. A technique is also developed to recover missing data points due to category re-specifications. The impact of a set of exogenous variables (prices of pork meat, inputs, and pork substitutes), are evaluated in the form of elasticities. An overall assessment of entry exit and growth of farms is performed.cross entropy estimator, Markov chain, pork industry, Denmark, Livestock Production/Industries, C340, C130, Q120,
