Methods and efficiency of scaring and regulation of cormorant phalacrocorax carbo numbers in southern Ukraine

Effects of the regulation of cormorant number in southern Ukraine in different periods of 20th century are described. Some methods to diminish cormorant number were used (sometimes drastic) but without effects expected. Effective methods of managing of cormorant population have been searched.
