    Indonesia ranks fourth in the world to the number of birds after Colombia, Peru, and Brazil.  The Sulawesi island species settler bird around 224 species land and fresh water bird, which is 41 species of them were endemic types and the most endemic bird found in the Sulawesi island. The Malona’s village forest production includes the work KPH Dampelas, the forest production was of hills and mountains  so that the environment has such a variety of plants that they provide food, make a nests, and shelter from any threat to this particular type of bird .The research aims to identify the diversity of birds in the forest production. The research was in forest production areas at the KPH Dampelas workplace, Malonas Village, Dampelas District, Donggala Regency on February-March 2019. observation locale in open and closed habitats, the method used was  point count. Data processing by analyzing the composition of birds, diversity of kinds, attendance rates of kinds, index arrangement  of kinds, kind of domination. The result was found 20 species of birds with 134 individuals, include 10 famili and 11 species built-in as endemic of birds. The value of the diversity index in forests of H '= 2.85 shows that the index of diversity of that type is moderate, the value of the index of E= 0.95 it shows the distribution of the relative uniform between species and there are 9 kinds of birds with an individual being so abundant that it becomes the dominant type of bird.Keywords: Birds, Forest Production, Biodiversit

    The Tanjung Api Nature Reserve area is in the Ampana Kota and Ampana Tete sub-districts, Tojo Una-Una Regency. Information about the diversity and morphology of bamboo species in the region is still limited so the purpose of this study is regarding the diversity and morphology of bamboo species, this research was conducted in July to August 2018. The method used was purposive sampling. Data collected are local names, scientific names, number of families, number of individuals, and morphology. Data were analyzed using the Species Diversity Index (H). The results showed that the diversity of bamboo species in the Tanjung Api Nature Reserve area was classified as low with a species diversity index (H ') value of 0.85. Three types of bamboo were found, namely bamboo Rat (Dinochloa scandens (Blume ex Nees) Kuntze) with purple shoot morphology, reed height reaching 20 m or more, segment length 20-25 cm with a diameter of 0.8-2.5 cm, leaves 11- 23 x 1.4-4.9 cm. Bamboo Tellang / Plate (Bambusa chunggii McClure) with yellow bamboo morphology, reed height reaches 8-15 m, length 35-50 cm long 8-10 cm in diameter, leaves 20-40 × 4- 7 cm. And bamboo Tuih (Bambusa sp) with green shoot morphology, reed reaching 7-12 m high, segment 65-75 cm 1-3 cm in diameter, leaves 18.5 27.5 × 2.2 4 cm.Keywords: Bamboo Diversity, Morphology, Tanjung Api Nature Reserv

    Forests are one of the natural resources that have important meaning for human life. Forests with various functions and benefits have a very large influence both directly and indirectly on ecological, economic and social aspects. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the diversity of plant species that make up the vegetation. This study uses the observation plot/plot method to see the diversity of the types of vegetation constituents in the Protected Forest Area of Uwemanje Village, Kinovaro District. The Important Value Index is used to determine the dominance of one species over another in a stand. Significant values were obtained from the sum of the Relative Density (KR), Relative Frequency (FR) and Relative Dominance (DR) for the level of stakes, piles and trees. The species diversity index was used to determine the species diversity of forest stands. Based on the results of research that has been carried out the types of plants that make up the vegetation in the protected forest area at the tree level found 16 species of trees from 14 families, at the pole level found 16 species from 16 families, at the sapling level found 10 species from 9 families, and at the seedling level found 10 types from 9 families. The level of Species Diversity (H¹) for each level is at the tree level H¹ = 3.81. Pile level H¹ = 3.35. The sapling level H¹ = 3.45 and at the seedling level H¹ = 3.54 belong to the high criteria.Kata Kunci: hutan, vegetasi, keanekaragaman jeni

    Traditional medicine is a hereditary legacy from our ancestors that is deeply rooted in the culture of the nation, therefore both in its ingredients and in its use as traditional medicine are still based on experiences passed down from generation to generation, both orally and in writing. The use of traditional medicine by the community is used as alternative medicine until now, especially in the Village of Landonan Bebeau. The purpose of this research was to collect data on the types of plants used as traditional medicines, to record parts of plants that are used as medicine and to record how to use traditional medicinal plants. The research was conducted for 2 months, from January to March 2021 in Landonan Bebeau Village, South Buko District, Banggai Islands Regency. This research uses an exploratory survey method using a descriptive approach, then the utilization is known by interviews with the community using the proposive sampling method. The data will then be described about utilization and will then be analyzed using a percentage, there are 78 species of medicinal plant species from 31 plant families used as traditional medicinal plants, with the percentage of plant parts used as medicine, 1% soil, 10% tubers, Roots 7%, stems 18%, leaves 73%, fruit 2%, flowers 3%, and 1% moss, and the number of presentations on how to use plants is cooked 42.5% pounded 18.7%, shaved 2.5%, drunk directly 1.25%, rubbed 2.5%, affixed to 5%, heated 2.5%, and dropped 2.5

    A forest park is a nature conservation area for the purpose of collection of plants and / or non-originals, which are used for research, science, education supporting cultivation, culture, tourism and recreation. This research was conducted for 2 months, from July to August 2019 in the Tahura Tourism Area in Ngatabaru, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawsi Province. The study was conducted using a survey method by making a path by intentional sampling of the starting point based on the type of medicinal plant found. The results showed 17 species of medicinal plants found from 12 families. %. Diversity of medicinal plants at tree growth rates of 0,79. The pole level is 0,21. The stake rate is 122. At the level of seedlings and undergrowth obtained at 0,25. So the diversity of medicinal plants according to growth rates are generally classified as low to moderate

    The objective of the research was to find out soil physical condition of Mangrove Forest in  Dolago village South Parigi Subdistrict Parigi Moutong District. The research was conducted on January to March 2016 that located in Dolago village, South Parigi Subdistrict, Parigi Moutong District. The method of taking sample was purposive sampling, soil sample taken from each mangrove stand, the dominant ones were Sonneratia alba, Rhizophora sp and shifting between Sonneratia alba, and Rhizophora sp . The soil sample was analyzed in Agronomy Laboratory of Forestry Faculty of Tadulako University, and the measurement of mud depth was done in the location directly. The result of soil sample analysis from laboratory showed that soil pH on Sonneratia alba stand was 6,20, Rhizophora sp was 6,03 and shifting was 6, 10, The soil color on Sonneratia alba stand was dark grey, Rhizophora sp was dark grey and shifting between Sonneratia alba, and Rhizophora sp was very dark grey, the soil texture of the three samples under taken stands was dominated by clay sand, water salinity on Sonneratia alba stand was 2,9 ppt, Rhizophora sp 3,0 ppt, and shifting  between Sonneratia alba, and Rhizophora sp was 2,8 ppt, and mud depth that directly measured on location showed that from the tree stands reached 78 cm height.Keywords: Physical condition, Soil, and Magrove Forest

    Mangrove forest vegetation in Indonesia is known for its high species diversity. Diverse mangrove vegetation can provide a good contribution to the soil including soil chemical properties such as soil pH, C-organic, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and cation exchange capacity. This research was conducted from January to March 2019, located in the West Tolai Village, Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical nature of the soil in mangrove forests in Tolai Barat Village, Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency. The method used is the survey / observation method and soil sampling is done intentionally (purposive sampling). Sampling was carried out in 3 different conditions, which were always inundated, inundated at moderate tides and inundated at high tides at depths of 0-30 and 30-60 cm, and at each point 3 samples were taken so that a total of 18 samples were composite into 6 the sample. Soil samples are then analyzed in the soil science laboratory. The results of this study indicate that the chemical properties of the soil in the mangrove forest of Tolai Barat Village are very diverse in the three different location conditions, which are always inundated, flooded during medium tides and submerged during high tides with depths of 0-30 and 30-60 respectively. cm has a acidic and neutral soil pH with a value of 4.74 -7.46H2O, C-organic from very low to high 0.45-4.75%, N-Total from moderate to low 0.21-0.05%, P-available is very low 9.11-7.94 ppm, K-Total with low to moderate values 15.89-23.18mg100gr-1, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) is classified as very low to low 4.16 -5.88 (cmol (+) kg-1)

    Indonesia is estimated to have 100 to 150 families of plants, most of which are used as medicinal plants. The use of traditional medicine is one of the cultures of the people of Wanagading Village, Bulano Lambunu Subdistrict, Parigi Moutong District, but the study of medicinal plants in the region is still lacking. The purpose of this study is to know the diversity of medicinal plants. This research was conducted for 2 months, July to September 2016, in the Forest Education Area of Tadulako University Bulano Lambunu District, Parigi Moutong Regency. The research method is the path method with purposive placement of the initial plot based on the first time found medicinal plants. Made as many as 4 lanes, parallel to the lane one with the other lane, the number of 5 plots with the size of each 20 m X 20 m, the distance between plots in each lane is 25 m, distance of each lane with other lanes 60 m, area of observation 4 ha medicinal plants, based on one location of medicinal plant habitat. The results of the study found 31 types of medicinal plants from 21 families. The type of medicinal plants that dominate the tree level is the type of Ficus benjamina L with INP of 103.90%, at the level of the pole is the type Clerodendrum calamitosum L with INP 82.82%, at the stake level is Morinda citrifolia L with INP 80.01%, at the seedling and understorey level Sida rhombifolia with INP 14.94%. Diversity index value (H ') tree level is 1.47 (medium), diversity index (H') pole level is obtained value 1.72 (moderate), diversity index (H ') stake level is obtained value 1.70 (medium) , diversity index (H ') at seedling level was obtained 3.00 (medium).Keywords: diversity of medicinal plants

    Tadulako University's Education Forest is one of Sulawesi's endemic wildlife habitats, namely Babyrousa babyrussa. The babirusa population is decreasing due to illegal hunting and illegal mining that destroys wildlife habitat. So it is necessary to conduct research on the composition of the Babirusa habitat vegetation. The study aimed to determine the composition of the Babirusa habitat vegetation in the Educational Forest Zone. Using a method of analysis of double plot vegetation which is placed by Purposive sampling as many as 3 square-shaped observation plots measuring 40 m x 40 m in the spot where the traces of babirusa are found. Each plot is made of 4 sub-plots measuring 20 m x 20 m for tree level, 10 m x 10 m pile level, 5 m x 5 m sapling level and 2 m x 2 seedling level. The results of the study found 29 types in 27 families of which 13 species in 12 families including Babirusa feed. 5 types of plants that comprise vegetation that are always found at the study site, besides the types of Dillenia sp., Are food sources of Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa): Pangium edule, Palaqum obtusilfolium Bulq, Lithocarpus elegans (Blume) Hatus. Ex Soepadmo, Calamus sp. The Index of Similarity in 3 study locations, at all vegetation levels ranged from 60.30% - 84.07% or> 75%.
