Purpose: To investigate the therapeutic effect of combination of acupuncture and Ban Xia Xie Xin Decoction (BXXXD) in patients with sepsis-induced gastrointestinal dysfunction. Methods: A total of 100 patients with sepsis and gastrointestinal dysfunction admitted to our hospitalfrom June 2019 to December 2020 were randomly assigned to a control group and a study group for a retrospective analysis. Both groups received acupuncture treatment, while BXXXD was given to the study group, in addition to acupuncture. Treatment effectiveness, incidence of adverse reactions, degree of recurrence at 1, 2 and 3 months after treatment, gastrointestinal dysfunction scores after 1week of treatment, quality of life index (QLI) scores, frequencies of flatulence and defecation within 48 h, number of bowel rumblings, as well as levels of gastrin and  cholecystokinin (CCK), were determined and compared between the two groups. Results: The group with BXXXD intervention demonstrated superior treatment effectiveness, QLI cores, frequencies of flatulence and defecation within 48 h, number of bowel rumblings, and level of gastrin than those who received only acupuncture treatment (p < 0.05). There was strong evidence of lower incidence of adverse reactions, recurrence at 1, 2, and 3 months after treatment; gastrointestinal dysfunction scores and CCK levels after 1 week of treatment was higher in the study group than in the control group (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The combination of acupuncture and BXXXD is superior to acupuncture alone in sepsis patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction. The combination therapy produces its effect by decreasing clinical symptoms, promoting recovery of the patients, and elevating their quality of life

Effect of preparation method of palygorskite-supported Fe and Ni catalysts on catalytic cracking of biomass tar

In this study, the effect of catalyst preparation and additive precursors on the catalytic decomposition of biomass using palygorskite-supported Fe and Ni catalysts was investigated. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It is concluded that the most active additive precursor was Fe(NO3)3·9H2O. As for the catalyst preparation method, co-precipitation had superiority over incipient wetness impregnation at low Fe loadings

WHAT AND HOW AFFECT INFLUENCE THE CONSEQUENCE OF PRODUCT TRIAL

IT product trial is an important method to promote consumers’ attitude toward IT product. Affect is one of the most essential factors and components in determining consumers’ attitude. However, previous studies pay more attention to the affective response to trial, which measure the holistic feeling about product trial experience. Affect in product trial is complex and multipartite that different parts may have different influence on consumers’ attitude. Therefore, we build the Affective Response Framework to divide consumers’ affect into affective response to product, affective response to behaviour, and affective response to environment. And then we analyse the relationship between three components of affective response and consumers’ attitude. In order to test the hypothesis, we launch a field study of new IT product trial (an electroencephalogram product) among 205 college students. Results reveal that affective response to product and behaviour have positive influence on attitude toward product; affective response to behaviour and environment have positive influence on attitude toward trial

Growth of Large Domain Epitaxial Graphene on the C-Face of SiC

Growth of epitaxial graphene on the C-face of SiC has been investigated. Using a confinement controlled sublimation (CCS) method, we have achieved well controlled growth and been able to observe propagation of uniform monolayer graphene. Surface patterns uncover two important aspects of the growth, i.e. carbon diffusion and stoichiometric requirement. Moreover, a new "stepdown" growth mode has been discovered. Via this mode, monolayer graphene domains can have an area of hundreds of square micrometers, while, most importantly, step bunching is avoided and the initial uniformly stepped SiC surface is preserved. The stepdown growth provides a possible route towards uniform epitaxial graphene in wafer size without compromising the initial flat surface morphology of SiC.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figure
