The conflict in the former Yugoslavia and its impact on the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Autor poświęca uwagę skutkom konfliktu, dokonuje analizy dotyczącej polityki bezpieczeństwa prowadzonej przez ten kraj wraz ze wskazaniem na potencjał obronny Bośnii. I rozdział obejmuje genezę konfliktu na Bałkanach w latach 1990-1995. Autor wymienia przyczyny rozpadu Republiki Jugosławii. Ponadto, w poniższym rozdziale została przedstawiona geneza i przebieg konfliktu, w tym zasady użycia siły oraz zabronione środki i metody walki podczas działań zbrojnych. Został poruszony zarówno aspekt polityczny, kulturowy, jak i językowy. Przedstawiono skutki wynikłe z powyższego konfliktu zbrojnego.W II rozdziale przedstawiono działania podjęte przez społeczność międzynarodową, które miały na celu rozwiązanie konfliktu w byłej Jugosławii. Wyodrębniono działania trzech największych światowych organizacji, czyli ONZ, NATO oraz Unii Europejskiej. W formie tabeli zobrazowano udział i sposoby zaangażowania społeczności na rzecz bezpieczeństwa w Bośni i Hercegowinie. Wykazano również działania mające na celu zagrożenie nie tylko stabilności Bośni i Hercegowiny, ale i całych Bałkanów.Rozdział III miał na celu opis obecnej sytuacji panującej w powstałym na początku lat 90-tych państwie Bośnia i Hercegowina. Ukazano stan bezpieczeństwa tego państwa, który zmienił się znacząco od zakończenia konfliktu na Bałkanach. Przedstawiony został stan sił zbrojnych tego państwa oraz jego przemiana na przestrzeni ostatnich lat. W końcowej części rozdziału zostały przedstawione perspektywy rozwoju bezpieczeństwa w tym państwie.The topic of the work is the Conflict in the former Yugoslavia and its impact on the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The author pays attention to the consequences of the conflict, analyzes the security policy pursued by this country, along with an indication of Bosnia's defense potential.Chapter I covers the genesis of the conflict in the Balkans in 1990-1995. The author lists the reasons for the break-up of the Republic of Yugoslavia. In addition, the following chapter presents the genesis and course of the conflict, including the principles of the use of force and prohibited means and methods of combat during hostilities. Both the political, cultural and linguistic aspects were touched upon. The effects of the above-mentioned armed conflict are presented.Chapter II presents activities undertaken by the international community to resolve the conflict in the former Yugoslavia. The activities of the three largest world organizations, i.e. the United Nations, NATO and the European Union, were distinguished. The table shows the participation and ways of community involvement for security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Actions aimed at threatening not only the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also the entire Balkans were also demonstrated.Chapter III was intended to describe the current situation in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, established in the early 1990s. It shows the state of security of this country, which has changed significantly since the end of the conflict in the Balkans. The state of the armed forces of this country and its transformation in recent years was presented. At the end of the chapter, the prospects for the development of security in this country are presented
