N=4 Supersymmetric Yang-Mills on S^3 in Plane Wave Matrix Model at Finite Temperature
We investigate the large N reduced model of gauge theory on a curved
spacetime through the plane wave matrix model. We formally derive the action of
the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on R \times S^3 from the plane wave
matrix model in the large N limit. Furthermore, we evaluate the effective
action of the plane wave matrix model up to the two-loop level at finite
temperature. We find that the effective action is consistent with the free
energy of the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on S^3 at high temperature
limit where the planar contributions dominate. We conclude that the plane wave
matrix model can be used as a large N reduced model to investigate
nonperturbative aspects of the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on R \times
S^3.Comment: 31pages: added comments and reference

Adversarial Patch Attacks on Monocular Depth Estimation Networks
Thanks to the excellent learning capability of deep convolutional neural
networks (CNN), monocular depth estimation using CNNs has achieved great
success in recent years. However, depth estimation from a monocular image alone
is essentially an ill-posed problem, and thus, it seems that this approach
would have inherent vulnerabilities. To reveal this limitation, we propose a
method of adversarial patch attack on monocular depth estimation. More
specifically, we generate artificial patterns (adversarial patches) that can
fool the target methods into estimating an incorrect depth for the regions
where the patterns are placed. Our method can be implemented in the real world
by physically placing the printed patterns in real scenes. We also analyze the
behavior of monocular depth estimation under attacks by visualizing the
activation levels of the intermediate layers and the regions potentially
affected by the adversarial attack.Comment: Publisher's Open Access PDF with the CC-BY copyright. Associated

Synthesis of Arecatannin A1 from Dimeric Epicatechin Electrophile
Synthesis of arrecatarmin A1 (1) was accomplished from dimeric epicatechin electrophile, which was prepared by Zn(OTf)(2) mediated self-condensation, and monomeric catechin nucleophile. The condensation was successfully worked using Yb(OTf)(3) as a Lewis acid in good yield.ArticleNATURAL PRODUCT COMMUNICATIONS. 10(6):959-962 (2015)journal articl
Syntheses of prodelphinidin B1, B2, and B4 and their antitumor activities against human PC-3 prostate cancer cell lines
Total synthesis of prodelphinidin B1, B2, and B4 has been accomplished. The key step is Lewis acid-mediated equimolar condensations between an epigallocatechin and/or a gallocatechin nucleophile and an epigallocatechin and/or a gallocatechin electrophile. The antitumor effects of synthetic prodelphinidin B1-B4 against human PC-3 prostate cancer cell lines have been investigated. These compounds showed significant antitumor effects. Their activity seemed to be little bit stronger than EGCG and prodelphinidin B3, known antitumor agent.ArticleTETRAHEDRON LETTERS. 54(52):7188-7192 (2013)journal articl
