Observables and Correlation Functions in OSp Invariant String Field Theory
We define BRST invariant observables in the OSp invariant closed string field
theory for bosonic strings. We evaluate correlation functions of these
observables and show that the S-matrix elements derived from them coincide with
those of the light-cone gauge string field theory.Comment: 23 page
Mask pattern transferred transient grating technique for molecular-dynamics study in solutions
We have developed a mask pattern transferred transient grating (MPT-TG) technique by using metal grating films. Transient thermal grating is generated by an ultraviolet light pattern transfer to nitrobenzene in 2-propanol solution, and the subsequent effect is detected through its diffraction to a probe beam. The thermal diffusion coefficient is obtained by the relationship between the grating periods and the signal decay lifetime, and is well in agreement with the calculated value. This technique has many advantages, such as a simple setting, an easy alignment, accurate phase control, and high stability for molecular-dynamics study in solutions
Specific antigen of tumor cell transformed by DNA extracted from SV-40 virus
In the immunofluorescent study it has been revealed that rabbit sera immunized with transformed cells induced by SV-40 DNA, produce circulating antibody capable of re:lcting with intranuclear antigens synthesized by SV-40 complyte virus transforming process, In addition, the result confirmed that SV-40 DNA replicates DNA-containing
viruses in the host cell and that also the genome coding for the synthesis of SV-40 tumor antigen is resposible for viral DNA.</p
D-branes and Closed String Field Theory
We construct solitonic states in the OSp invariant string field theory, which
are BRST invariant in the leading order of regularization parameter. One can
show that these solitonic states describe D-branes and ghost D-branes, by
calculating the scattering amplitudes.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures, based on an invited talk presented at the

Japan and the international monetary regime
The international monetary regime, the set of rules that governs the monetary mechanism of international trade and investment, is one of the foundations of the world economy. The development of every national economy is conditioned by the way the international monetary regime is arranged, and every major economy has contributed, though with different degrees of importance, to its evolution. The Japanese economy is no exception. This paper reviews the postwar development of the international monetary regime involving Japan and Japan's growing involvement, evaluates the efficacy and viability of the current flexible exchange rate regimes, and speculates upon the possibility of the future reform of the international monetary regime as viewed across the Pacific
D-branes and Closed String Field Theory
We construct BRST invariant solitonic states in the OSp invariant string
field theory for closed bosonic strings. Our construction is a generalization
of the one given in the noncritical case. These states are made by using the
boundary states for D-branes, and can be regarded as states in which D-branes
or ghost D-branes are excited. We calculate the vacuum amplitude in the
presence of solitons perturbatively and show that the cylinder amplitude for
the D-brane is reproduced. The results imply that these are states with even
number of D-branes or ghost D-branes.Comment: 36 pages, 3 figures, LaTeX; typos correcte
Large Lepton Mixing and Nonsymmetric Mass Matrices with Flavor 2 <-> 3 Symmetry
We analyze the lepton sector of a recently proposed nonsymmetric mass matrix
model. Our model gives a unified description of quark and lepton with the same
texture form based on an extended flavor symmetry with a
phase. By investigating possible types of assignment for masses, we find that
the model can lead to large lepton mixings which are consistent with
experimental values. We also find that the model predicts a very small value,
, for the lepton mixing matrix element square .
The CP violating phases in the lepton mixing matrix and a suppression of the
averaged neutrino mass in the neutrinoless double beta decay are also
predicted.Comment: 15pages, 2figure
