    Novel Relations between Lepton and Quark Mixings

    A novel relation is found which gives the 2-3 lepton mixing angle in terms of quark masses and CKM mixing: \tan\theta_{\mu\tau}=(m_b/m_s)V_{cb}. This relation, which is remarkably in good agreement with the quark data and the large lepton mixing recently observed, is a kind of SO(10) GUT relation similar to the celebrated bottom-tau mass ratio in SU(5). The GUT models in which this relation hold should have a `twisted SO(10)' structure between the second and third generations, in order to really explain the large lepton mixing, or equivalently, the right-hand side of the relation.Comment: 8 pages, typos correcte

    (p,q)-webs of DIM representations, 5d N=1 instanton partition functions and qq-characters

    Instanton partition functions of N=1\mathcal{N}=1 5d Super Yang-Mills reduced on S1S^1 can be engineered in type IIB string theory from the (p,q)(p,q)-branes web diagram. To this diagram is superimposed a web of representations of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra that acts on the partition function. In this correspondence, each segment is associated to a representation, and the (topological string) vertex is identified with the intertwiner operator constructed by Awata, Feigin and Shiraishi. We define a new intertwiner acting on the representation spaces of levels (1,n)(0,m)(1,n+m)(1,n)\otimes(0,m)\to(1,n+m), thereby generalizing to higher rank mm the original construction. It allows us to use a folded version of the usual (p,q)(p,q)-web diagram, bringing great simplifications to actual computations. As a result, the characterization of Gaiotto states and vertical intertwiners, previously obtained by some of the authors, is uplifted to operator relations acting in the Fock space of horizontal representations. We further develop a method to build qq-characters of linear quivers based on the horizontal action of DIM elements. While fundamental qq-characters can be built using the coproduct, higher ones require the introduction of a (quantum) Weyl reflection acting on tensor products of DIM generators.Comment: 42 page

    Abstractγ-Aminobutyric acid, a major inhibitory neurotransmitter within the adult central nervous system, is also known to be excitatory at early developmental stages due to the elevated intracellular Cl− concentration. This functional change is primarily attributable to a K+-Cl− cotransporter, KCC2, the expression of which is developmentally regulated in neurons. However, little detail information is available concerning the intracellular regulation of KCC2 function. Here, we identify an interaction between KCC2 and brain-type creatine kinase by means of yeast two-hybrid screening. This interaction, which was also detected in cultured cells and brain extracts, might contribute to KCC2-mediated modulation of Cl− homeostasis

The milky spots are most possibly the remnants of the mesenchymal hematopoiesis of the embryonic stage.</p

    Interaction Potential for Vibrational-Translational Energy Transfer in Collision between I₂ and Ar

    In order to determine the interaction potential parameters for vibrational-translational energy transfer collision between Ar and I₂ excitedby 5145Å line of an Ar⁺ laser, the three dimensional model of Hansen and Pearson is compared with the experimental results of laser induced fluorescence obtained by the method of Steinfeld et al.. In the model, the interaction potential is assumed to be a linear superposition of exponential repulsions between atomic centers and determined by two parameters, i.e., scale size and characteristic length. These are determined to be 0.14 eV and 0.25Å, respectively, from comparison of the theoretical rate coefficient for the energy transfer with the experimental one relative to their dependence on gas temperature
