Thomas Mann und die beiden totalitären Diskurse des Judentums: Überlegungen zu seinen publizistischen Schriften (1907-1933)

It is obvious that the jew related totalitarisms (zionism and antisemitism) are writing categories in the work of Thomas Mann. A proof of this is the Berliner Colloquium of 2002 with the title “Thomas Mann und das Judentum”. As writing categories it both totalitarian discourses can not only be exemplified and illustrated trough his essays, but also in his poetic work. They comprise statements that can be helpful to understand his main ideas on “the Jewish” related totalitarian discourses. The following contribution can be understood as a sort of continuation of Berliner Colloquium, but limits at the essays between 1907 and 1933. An attention is paid to his attitudes to antisemitism and sionism, but totalitarian discourses. Therefore, Thomas Mann criticises both ideologies while apologising for a peaceful, humanatarian and intercultural order

Sobre la representación poética de la piedad norte-sur en "El dios y la bayadera" (1797) de Goethe

Goethes Ballade Der Gott und die Bajadere stellt eine poetische Exkursion in die indische Kulturwelt dar. Den aus der indischen mündlichen Erzähltradition stammenden Bajadere-Mythos verarbeitet der Dichter zum Balladenstoff, in dem er die Nord-Süd-Frömmigkeit thematisiert. Im Gegensatz zu der bisherigen Forschung setzt sich der vorliegende Beitrag zum Ziel, von der in der Forschung wenig beachteten Komplexität des Kontexts und von der Forschungsgeschichte der Ballade auszugehen, um nicht nur einige Interpretationen zu diskutieren und zu vertiefen, sondern und stärker noch auch neue Lesarten der Ballade zu bieten. Hierzu gehören folgende Themen-Aspekte: „Macht, Liebe und Körper“, „Verortung von Erlösungsparadigmen in Weltreligionen“, „Geschlechterasymmetrie zur Macht“, „Pluralität und Umkehrung der Perspektiven“ sowie die Beziehungen zwischen „Säkularisierung, Antifundamentalismus und Weltfrömmigkeit“.Goethe’s ballad The God and the Bayadere is a poetic excursion into the Indian cultural world. The Bayadere-myth comes from the Indian oral narrative tradition. It was subject of change by the poet and it discusses the North-South piety. Unlike previous research, the goal of the present paper is, while considering the fact that little attention has, until now, been paid to the complexity of the context and of the research history of the ballad, not only to discuss some interpretations, but also to deepen some of them as well to suggest other forms of its reading. This double reading enables to offer other forms of interpretations. In this contribution, some thematic aspects such as „power, love and body“, „localization of redemption paradigms in world religions“, „gender asymmetry of power“, „pluralism, and reversal of perspectives“ as well as the relationship between „secularism, anti-fundamentalism and world religions“ are therefore to be considered and to be critically discussed within the general thematic issue.La balada de Goethe Der Gott und die Bajadere representa una excursión poética al mundo cultural indio. El poeta transforma el mito de la bayadera, que proviene de la tradición narrativa oral india, en materia de la balada y trata con ella el tema de la piedad norte-sur. Al contrario que las investigaciones realizadas hasta el momento, el objetivo de este artículo es partir de la complejidad del contexto, no muy tenida en cuenta hasta ahora, y de la historia de la investigación de la balada, no sólo para debatir y profundizar en algunas interpretaciones, sino también para ofrecer nuevas formas de lectura de la balada. En ellas se incluyen algunos aspectos temáticos tratados como: „poder, amor y cuerpo“, „localización de paradigmas de redención en las religiones del mundo“, „asimetría de poder de tipo genérico“, „pluralidad e inversión de perspectivas“, así como las relaciones entre „secularización, antifundamentalismo, y piedad mundial“
