Fifth district indexes of manufacturing output
Monthly indexes of U.S. manufacturing output are not generally available for individual states or for specific regions of the country. In this article we present new monthly indexes of manufacturing output for the period 1979 through 1987 for the Fifth Federal Reserve District, its individual states, and three of its major industries—textiles, chemicals, and electric equipment.Federal Reserve District, 5th ; Manufactures
Diversity, Stability, Recursivity, and Rule Generation in Biological System: Intra-inter Dynamics Approach
Basic problems for the construction of a scenario for the Life are discussed.
To study the problems in terms of dynamical systems theory, a scheme of
intra-inter dynamics is presented. It consists of internal dynamics of a unit,
interaction among the units, and the dynamics to change the dynamics itself,
for example by replication (and death) of units according to their internal
states. Applying the dynamics to cell differentiation, isologous
diversification theory is proposed. According to it, orbital instability leads
to diversified cell behaviors first. At the next stage, several cell types are
formed, first triggered by clustering of oscillations, and then as attracting
states of internal dynamics stabilized by the cell-to-cell interaction. At the
third stage, the differentiation is determined as a recursive state by cell
division. At the last stage, hierarchical differentiation proceeds, with the
emergence of stochastic rule for the differentiation to sub-groups, where
regulation of the probability for the differentiation provides the diversity
and stability of cell society. Relevance of the theory to cell biology is
discussed.Comment: 19 pages, Int.J. Mod. Phes. B (in press
Baryonic contributions to the dilepton spectra in relativistic heavy ion collisions
We investigate the baryonic contributions to the dilepton yield in high
energy heavy ion collisions within the context of a transport model. The
relative contribution of the baryonic and mesonic sources are examined. It is
observed that most dominant among the baryonic channels is the decay of
N*(1520) and mostly confined in the region below the rho peak. In a transport
theory implementation we find the baryonic contribution to the lepton pair
yield to be small.Comment: 11 pages, 8 figure
Studying Diquark Structure of Heavy Baryons in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions
We propose the enhancement of yield in heavy ion collisions at
RHIC and LHC as a novel signal for the existence of diquarks in the strongly
coupled quark-gluon plasma produced in these collisions as well as in the
. Assuming that stable bound diquarks can exist in the quark-gluon
plasma, we argue that the yield of would be increased by two-body
collisions between diquarks and quarks, in addition to normal
three-body collisions among , and quarks. A quantitative study of
this effect based on the coalescence model shows that including the
contribution of diquarks to production indeed leads to a
substantial enhancement of the ratio in heavy ion collisions.Comment: Prepared for Chiral Symmetry in Hadron and Nuclear Physics
