Active alignment method to dual balance camera spatial frequency response

    Get PDF
In camera manufacturing, an active alignment process is used to align the optical axis of the lens with the sensor axis of the camera. The active alignment process reduces the spatial frequency response (SFR) corner-to-corner imbalance that causes SFR differences at image corners. The active alignment process is typically carried out with the object at the infinity position with respect to the lens. As a result, in auto-focus cameras with movable lenses, higher SFR corner-to-corner imbalance persists in macro positions. The techniques of this disclosure involve applying the active alignment process at infinity and at macro positions to distribute SFR corner-to-corner imbalance between the two positions

Multi-electrolyte-step anodic aluminum oxide method for the fabrication of self-organized nanochannel arrays

    Get PDF
Nanochannel arrays were fabricated by the self-organized multi-electrolyte-step anodic aluminum oxide [AAO] method in this study. The anodization conditions used in the multi-electrolyte-step AAO method included a phosphoric acid solution as the electrolyte and an applied high voltage. There was a change in the phosphoric acid by the oxalic acid solution as the electrolyte and the applied low voltage. This method was used to produce self-organized nanochannel arrays with good regularity and circularity, meaning less power loss and processing time than with the multi-step AAO method

Higher-order effects on the incompressibility of isospin asymmetric nuclear matter

Analytical expressions for the saturation density as well as the binding energy and incompressibility at the saturation density of asymmetric nuclear matter are given exactly up to 4th-order in the isospin asymmetry delta =(rho_n - rho_p)/rho using 11 characteristic parameters defined at the normal nuclear density rho_0. Using an isospin- and momentum-dependent modified Gogny (MDI) interaction and the SHF approach with 63 popular Skyrme interactions, we have systematically studied the isospin dependence of the saturation properties of asymmetric nuclear matter, particularly the incompressibility Ksat(δ)=K0+Ksat,2δ2+Ksat,4δ4+O(δ6)K_{sat}(\delta )=K_{0}+K_{sat,2}\delta ^{2}+K_{sat,4}\delta ^{4}+O(\delta ^{6}) at the saturation density. Our results show that the magnitude of the high-order Ksat,4K_{sat,4} parameter is generally small compared to that of the K_{\sat,2} parameter. The latter essentially characterizes the isospin dependence of the incompressibility at the saturation density and can be expressed as Ksat,2=Ksym6LJ0K0LK_{sat,2}=K_{sym}-6L-\frac{J_{0}}{K_{0}}L, Furthermore, we have constructed a phenomenological modified Skyrme-like (MSL) model which can reasonably describe the general properties of symmetric nuclear matter and the symmetry energy predicted by both the MDI model and the SHF approach. The results indicate that the high-order J0J_{0} contribution to Ksat,2K_{sat,2} generally cannot be neglected. In addition, it is found that there exists a nicely linear correlation between KsymK_{sym} and LL as well as between J0/K0J_{0}/K_{0} and K0K_{0}. These correlations together with the empirical constraints on K0K_{0}, LL, Esym(ρ0)E_{sym}(\rho_{0}) and the nucleon effective mass lead to an estimate of Ksat,2=370±120K_{sat,2}=-370\pm 120 MeV.Comment: 61 pages, 12 figures, 6 Tables. Title changed a little and results of several Skyrme interactions updated. Accepted version to appear in PR

A Review on Selenium-enriched Green Tea: Fortification Methods, Biological Activities and Application Prospect

    Get PDF
Selenium (Se) has been recognized as an essential nutrient for humans. Plant foods are the predominant source of selenium and majority of dietary selenium is absorbed depending on the type of food consumed. Nowadays, green tea is becoming increasingly popular for its prominent health benefits, including the ability to supplement selenium in organically bound, natural food form. The selenium content of Se-enriched green tea is influenced by the selenium level of local soils in which it is grown. However, selenium content of plants can also be improved by artificial fortification methods. In this review, the chemical speciation and biological functions of selenium, fortification methods, biological activities and nutraceutical applications of Se-enriched green tea are discussed. This review provides insights into the current research and the importance of Se-enriched green tea in the enrichment of human nutrition and health

A STUDY OF FEATURE SETS FOR EMOTION RECOGNITION FROM SPEECH SIGNALS

    Get PDF
This thesis focuses on finding useful features for emotion recognition from speech signals. In comparison to the popular openSMILE “emobase” feature set, our proposed method reduced the size of feature space to about 28% yet boosted the recognition rate by 3.3%. Given we are at a point technologically where computing is cheap and fast, and lots of data are available, the approach to solving all sorts of problems is based on sophisticated machine learning techniques to implicitly make sense of data. Yet in this work, we study particular features that are felt to correlate with changes in emotion but have not been commonly selected for emotion recognition tasks. Jitter, shimmer, breathiness, and speaking rate are analyzed and are found to systematically change as a function of emotion. We not only explore these additional acoustic features that help improve the classification performance, but also try to understand the importance of the existing features in improving accuracy. Our results show that using our features together with MFCCs and pitch related features lead to a better performance
