The purpose of this study is to help students who experience mathematical phobia by conducting mathematical therapy. Mathematical therapy was carried out using multimedia "digimonica". This research used quantitative research methods, type of action research. The data sources in this study were 13 students of Class XI of SMA Islam Hasyim Asy'ari Batu who have a mathematical phobia. Data collection method was done by using tests and interviews. The action research process began with the identification of problems, namely the level of students' mathematical phobias. This process was carried out by conducting a pretest, then the researcher conducted a mathematical therapy action with multimedia "digimonica" as an effort to overcome the students' mathematical phobia, then ended with a posttest. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, the data obtained changes in the level of mathematical phobia of students. In the initial conditions, there were three categories of students who had mathematical phobias (mild, moderate, high), whereas after mathematical therapy, the level of mathematical phobia decreased (mild and moderate). In general, the average student successfully answered more than 2 questions correctly. This proves that therapy using multimedia "digimonica" can help students to reduce the level of mathematical phobia

Qurmatica-Based Learning as a Solution to Reduce Anxiety for Students' Mathematics Phobias

Mathematics anxiety is an obstacle for students in carrying out mathematics learning, especially there are still students who think mathematics is a difficult and boring subject. The ability to understand mathematical concepts of each student is different. There are several influencing factors, one of which is the anxiety experienced by students when learning mathematics. Therefore, mathematics is one of the important lessons to be learned, not only students at school but also students who are studying in Islamic boarding schools. Some of the knowledge that students learn in Islamic boarding schools also requires mathematics. For example, when studying the science of zakat distribution, Faraid science, and the like. The students have applied the linkage of mathematical concepts with Islamic concepts studied by students in Islamic boarding schools. In this study, the data collection method used was a literature study. This method was used to obtain additional literature data from reference books regarding mathematics anxiety towards students. In fact, mathematics is a basic science that is important for the advancement of science and technology, and the concepts in learning mathematics are used in everyday life. The author tries to offer a solution to reduce the level of anxiety of students towards mathematics by conducting learning that integrates the Qur'an with mathematics using the QURMATICA method as a solution can be used to play and learn mathematics and to encourage students' enthusiasm in learning mathematics and students can reduce their mathematics anxiety

From the 18th International Radiocarbon Conference held in Wellington, New Zealand, September 1-5, 2003.The National Electrostatics Corporation has built and tested a prototype low energy, open-air, single stage carbon accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) system (patent pending). The configuration tested has a standard 40-sample, multicathode SNICS source on a 300-kV deck. The beam is mass analyzed before acceleration to a gas stripper located at ground. The 14C+ ions are separated from 13C+ and super 12C+ arising from the molecular breakup by a 90 degrees analyzing magnet immediately after the gas stripper which acts as a molecular dissociator. The 14C+ beam passes through an electrostatic spherical analyzer before entering the particle detector. The observed 14C/12C precision is better than 5 per mil with a sensitivity of better than 0.05 dpm/gmC. A first single stage AMS system has been ordered. The configuration of this system will be discussed. The Radiocarbon archives are made available by Radiocarbon and the University of Arizona Libraries. Be-10, C-14, Cl-36 and I-129 test measurements have been made with a new Pelletron-based accelerator mass spectrometer operating at up to 5.2 MV. All ion detection was with a versatile gas ionization detector. Low-background radiocarbon measurements with 2% scatter of identical samples was performed with both spectrometer ion sources. Be-10/Be backgrounds of 3 x 10(-15) were achieved using a gas cell adjoining the detector for B-10 suppression. High sample-throughput Cl AMS with Cl- 36/Cl backgrounds of 4 x 10(-15) was accomplished
