Temperature Dependency of Bond Strength of Polyvinyl Acetate Emulsion Adhesives for Wood
Bond strengths of PVAc emulsion adhesives were evaluated in the range from -130 to 140 C in both tensile shear and tensile cross-lap joints of wood. Both shear and tension bond strengths strongly depended on rheological properties and tensile strengths of adhesives over the entire temperature range, and the maximum peaks of each bond strength and the film strength were observed around the Tg of PVAc. Higher shear bond strengths were observed in the lower temperature range, while the other bond strengths declined markedly. This phenomenon was explained by the possible occurrence of mechanical interlocking at wood surface and difference of its effectiveness with the direction of stress on the joint. Furthermore, a high amount of grafting effectively fortified both the bond and film strengths of adhesives throughout the temperature range investigated
Reduced lateral mobility of a fluorescent lipid analog in cell membranes of rat fibroblasts transformed by simian virus 40
AbstractIn order to study the difference between normal and transformed cells, lateral motion of fluorescent molecules embedded into cell membranes of rat clonal fibroblasts and its SV40-transformed derivative cells was measured by the FPR technique. The lateral diffusion coefficient of a fluorescent fatty acid analog, F18, was smaller in transformed cells than normal cells. This indicates that the lipid phase of membranes from transformed cells is less fluid than that from normal cells. On the other hand, the lateral diffusion coefficient of S-F-concanavalin A was identical in both cells. These results suggest that the mobility of different molecules on the membranes is controlled by different mechanisms

A Polyphase and FFT Realization of Modulation Sub-band Adaptive Filter with Minimum Sampling Rate
A sub-band adaptive filter, in which modulation and demodulation are employed, were proposed. The sampling rate can be minimized, while no aliasing occurs. In this paper, a polyphase and FFT realization of this sub-band adaptive filter is proposed. In the polyphase and FFT realization for the transmultiplexer, the sampling rate reduction is the same as the number of the sub-bands. In the proposed method, however, they are different, so the conventional method cannot be applied. In the new realization, the polyphase filters are divided into a tapped delay line and an FFT part so as to be shared by all the sub-bands. Computational complexity is well reduced compared with the direct realization

24- and 120-chanell transmultiplexers built with new digital signal processing LSI\u27s
金沢大学大学院自然科学研究科情報システム金沢大学工学部Two new digital transmultiplexers intended for commerical use have been developed. One transmultiplexer performs a bilateral conversion between two 12-channel FDM group signals and a 24-channel PCM carrier signal. The other mutually connects two 60-channel FDM supergroup signals and five 24-channel or four 30-channel PCM signals. Both exploit a block processing digital SSB-FDM multiplex/demultiplex scheme employing a cascade of an FFT processor and a set of complex coefficient digital filters. They have been built using newly developed high-level DSP LSI chips. Algorithmic considerations, developed LSI architecture, and equipment configuration are described as well as digital processor design details and measured performance
Analysis of Decolorization Mechanism by Azo Dyes Decolizing Microorganism
The mehcanism of azo dyes decolorization by Candida sp. MK-1, Aeromonas sp. B-5 and Actinobacillus sp. B-11 were analyzed. The maximal decolorization activity was observed at pH 7.5 and 30℃ on Candida sp. MK-1, at alkaline and at 35℃ on Aeromonas sp. B-5 and Actinobacillus sp. B-11. The HPLC analysis of the supernatant of the Acid Red 27 detected in the blank. The retention time of this peak matched that of a reference standard compound of 4-amino-1-naphthalenesulfonate, produced by reductive cleavage of Acid Red 27. The decolorization of azo dyes with cell free extract of Candida sp. MK-a was promoted by the addition of several coenzymes or lawsone. The remarkable promotion of decolorization was observed by the addition of glutamate dehydrogenase with α-ketoglutarate and NH4+. Therefore, it was suggested that Candida sp. MK-1 azoreductase catalyzed decolorization of azo dye by NADPH dependent reductive cleavage
Jatkossa voisi tutkia, kuinka sähköisen oppimisalustan saisi juurrutettua paremmin henkilöstön käyttöön sekä selvittää kurssin käytön esteet, jotta ne voitaisiin poistaaThe topic of this functional study was elderly nutrition. The objective of the thesis was to design and implement study material about nutrition for the elderly via Moodle
eLearning environment for the use of the South Karelia Social and Health Care District staff. In addition an introductory video was designed and produced to spark interest in the topic. Also, a quiz consisting of three option questions based on topics presented in slides was produced. The course content consisted of powerPoint presentations with the following topics: nutrition and aging, fiber, vitamin D recommendations, vitamins, nutrition recommented for a person suffering from a memory disorder, problems with nutrition among the elderly, drinking and fluid balance, as well as When do we eat? - Practical tips for the home care of people suffering from a memory disorder.
For further, study it could be recommented to examine how the e-learning platform could be anchored in better use for the staff, as well as to identify the obstacles to the
use of the course, so that they could be removed
