A novel concentric circular ring structure applied in AUV’s inductive power transfer system for resisting the disturbance of ocean current

    No full text
Inductive power transfer (IPT) realizes no physical connection and make it possible to be a substitute for conductive charging in autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) power feeding applications. However, in marine environment, the seawater stream vibration could bring disturbance and change the primary and secondary parameters, which reduces the stability of the power transmission system. This paper proposes a concentric circular ring structure applied in AUV’s IPT system for resisting the disturbance of ocean current. The study focuses on its misalignment tolerance. It is found that the 3rd coupler (19:24 turns) has better tolerance on axial misalignment among the three couplers with different secondary winding turns. It improves the coupling coefficient reduction from 34.7% to 23.6% when the axial misalignment varies from 0 to 50 mm and the radial displacement almost has no influence on coupling coefficient if radial misalignment is much smaller than the diameter of coils. Experiment results show that the system efficiency drops from 93.2% to 82.4%, when the axial misalignment changes from 0 to 50 mm

A hybrid model for stock price prediction based on multi-view heterogeneous data

Abstract Literature shows that both market data and financial media impact stock prices; however, using only one kind of data may lead to information bias. Therefore, this study uses market data and news to investigate their joint impact on stock price trends. However, combining these two types of information is difficult because of their completely different characteristics. This study develops a hybrid model called MVL-SVM for stock price trend prediction by integrating multi-view learning with a support vector machine (SVM). It works by simply inputting heterogeneous multi-view data simultaneously, which may reduce information loss. Compared with the ARIMA and classic SVM models based on single- and multi-view data, our hybrid model shows statistically significant advantages. In the robustness test, our model outperforms the others by at least 10% accuracy when the sliding windows of news and market data are set to 1–5 days, which confirms our model’s effectiveness. Finally, trading strategies based on single stock and investment portfolios are constructed separately, and the simulations show that MVL-SVM has better profitability and risk control performance than the benchmarks

The formation possibility of (Hf0.2Zr0.2Ta0.2Nb0.2Ti0.2)C high‐entropy ceramic (HHC‐1) was first analyzed by the first‐principles calculations, and then, it was successfully fabricated by hot‐pressing sintering technique at 2073 K under a pressure of 30 MPa. The first‐principles calculation results showed that the mixing enthalpy and mixing entropy of HHC‐1 were −0.869 ± 0.290 kJ/mol and 0.805R, respectively. The experimental results showed that the as‐prepared HHC‐1 not only had an interesting single rock‐salt crystal structure of metal carbides but also possessed high compositional uniformity from nanoscale to microscale. By taking advantage of these unique features, it exhibited extremely high nanohardness of 40.6 ± 0.6 GPa and elastic modulus in the range from 514 ± 10 to 522 ± 10 GPa and relatively high electrical resistivity of 91 ± 1.3 ΌΩ·cm, which could be due to the presence of solid solution effects.</p

Eddy current loss analysis of underwater wireless power transfer systems with misalignments

Underwater wireless power transfer (WPT) has gained a lot of popularity in recent years. In the seawater environment, the electrical conductivity is non-negligible compared with that in the air. Therefore, the eddy current loss is generated by the high-frequency alternating currents in the coils. The eddy current loss of the aligned coils has been analyzed while the eddy current loss of the misaligned coils has not been explored yet, which is crucial because misaligned coils are more common in practical applications. In this paper, an analytical model for the eddy current loss of a coreless WPT system in the seawater with misalignments is established with Maxwell’s equations. The theoretical expressions of the electric field intensity and the eddy current loss are derived. Then the eddy current loss is analyzed under different misalignments and frequencies. It is found that the efficiency in the seawater remains stable at a frequency range of 215.5 kHz to 248.4 kHz. Moreover, the efficiency is relatively unchanged under a small lateral misalignment and decreases sharply when the lateral misalignment keeps growing. An underwater WPT prototype is built and the experiments verify the theoretical analysis

Proanthocyanidins Ameliorate LPS-Inhibited Osteogenesis of PDLSCs by Restoring Lysine Lactylation

Periodontitis is a bacteria-induced inflammatory disease characterized by the progressive destruction of periodontal supporting tissues. Periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) are capable of differentiating into osteoblasts, which is an important stem cell source for endogenous periodontal tissue regeneration. Lysine lactylation (Kla) is a novel post-translational modification of proteins that is recently thought to be associated with osteogenic differentiation. Here, we found that lactylation levels are reduced both in the periodontal tissue of rats with periodontitis and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated human PDLSCs. Proanthocyanidins were able to promote the osteogenesis of inflamed PDLSCs by restoring lactylation levels. Mechanistically, proanthocyanidins increased lactate production and restored the lactylation levels of PDLSCs, which recovered osteogenesis of inflamed PDLSCs via the Wnt/ÎČ-catenin pathway. These results provide evidence on how epigenetic regulation by pharmacological agents influence the osteogenic phenotype of stem cells and the process of periodontal tissue repair. Our current study highlights the valuable potential of natural product proanthocyanidins in the regenerative engineering of periodontal tissues

Background: Epidemiological research has established associations between various inflammatory cytokines and the occurrence of oral cancer and oropharyngeal cancer (OCPC). We performed a Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to systematically investigate the causal relationship between inflammatory cytokines and OCPC.Methods: We performed a bidirectional two-sample MR analysis using OCPC from 12 studies (6,034 cases and 6,585 controls) and genome-wide association study (GWAS) results for 41 serum cytokines from 8,293 Finns, respectively. Inverse variance weighting was used as the primary MR method and four additional MR methods (MR Egger, Weighted median, Simple mode, Weighted mode) were used to examine genetic associations between inflammatory traits and OCPC, and Cochran’s Q test, MR-Egger intercept, leave-one-out analysis, funnel plot, and multivariate MR (MVMR) analysis were used to assess the MR results. Results: The results suggested a potential association between high gene expression of Macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP1α/CCL3) and an increased risk of OCPC (Odds Ratio (OR): 1.71, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 1.09–2.68, p = 0.019). Increasing the expression levels of the interleukin-7 (IL-7) gene by 1 standard deviation reduced the risk of OCPC (OR: 0.64, 95%CI: 0.48–0.86, p = 0.003). In addition, multivariate Mendelian randomization analysis also showed the same results (MIP1α/CCL3, OR: 1.002, 95% CI: 0.919–1.092, p = 0.044; IL-7, OR: 0.997, 95% CI: 0.994–0.999, p = 0.011). Conversely, there was a positive correlation between genetic susceptibility to OCPC and an increase in Interleukin-4 (IL-4) (OR: 1.04, 95%CI: 1.00–1.08, p = 0.027).Conclusion: Our study systematically assessed the association between inflammatory cytokines and the risk of OCPC. We identified two upstream regulatory factors (IL-7 and CCL3) and one downstream effector factor (IL-4) that were associated with OCPC, offering potential avenues for the development of novel treatments.</p
