On the properties of Gaussian Copula Mixture Models

Gaussian copula mixture models (GCMM) are the generalization of Gaussian Mixture models using the concept of copula. Its mathematical definition is given and the properties of likelihood function are studied in this paper. Based on these properties, extended Expectation Maximum algorithms are developed for estimating parameters for the mixture of copulas while marginal distributions corresponding to each component is estimated using separate nonparametric statistical methods. In the experiment, GCMM can achieve better goodness-of-fitting given the same number of clusters as GMM; furthermore, GCMM can utilize unsynchronized data on each dimension to achieve deeper mining of data.Comment: 11 pages paper for theoretical properties and new algorithms for GCM

Research on the Influencing Factors of Enterprise Wechat Official Accounts Marketing Effectiveness

Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model, we extract the influencing factors of user information behavior in the enterprise Wechat Official Account marketing, and construct the influencing factor model by using user sentiment and user trust as mediator variables. The theoretical test is carried out through questionnaires and data analysis. Result shows that information entertainment and title novelty positively affect user sentiment, while user sentiment and user trust positively affect information concern behavior. Therefore, to carry out Wechat Official Account marketing, information title should be highlighted and information content should be interesting and novel

Research on Key Success Factors of Logistics Enterprises Digital Transformation Based on Interpretative Structural Model

    Get PDF
This paper is to clarify the key success factors of logistics enterprises digital transformation, and the relationship between them. Key success factors are extracted through literature review, expert interviews and membership evaluation methods, and a hierarchical model of factors is constructed by using the interpretative structural modeling method to obtain the hierarchical relationship of factors and further analyse the digital transformation strategy of logistics enterprises. This paper provides new ideas for logistics enterprises to break through the bottleneck and accelerate digital transformation

On a class of new and practical performance indexes for approximation of fold bifurcations of nonlinear power flow equations

AbstractEfficient measurement of the performance index (the distance of a loading parameter from the voltage collapse point) is one of the key problems in power system operations and planning and such an index indicates the severity of a power system with regard to voltage collapse. There exist many interesting methods and ideas to compute this index. However, some successful methods are not yet mathematically justified while other mathematically sound methods are often proposed directly based on the bifurcation theory and they require the initial stationary state to be too close to the unknown turning point to make the underlying methods practical. This paper first gives a survey of several popular methods for estimating the fold bifurcation point including the continuation methods, bifurcation methods and the test function methods (Seydel's direct solution methods, the tangent vector methods and the reduced Jacobian method) and discuss their relative advantages and problems. Test functions are usually based on scaling of the determinant of the Jacobian matrix and it is generally not clear how to determine the behaviour of such functions. As the underlying nonlinear equations are of a particular type, this allows us to do a new analysis of the determinants of the Jacobian and its submatrices in this paper. Following the analysis, we demonstrate how to construct a class of test functions with a predictable analytical behaviour so that a suitable index can be produced. Finally, examples of two test functions from this class are proposed. For several standard IEEE test systems, promising numerical results have been achieved

Pharmacogenomics of drug efficacy in the interferon treatment of chronic hepatitis C using classification algorithms

Chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients often stop pursuing interferon-alfa and ribavirin (IFN-alfa/RBV) treatment because of the high cost and associated adverse effects. It is highly desirable, both clinically and economically, to establish tools to distinguish responders from nonresponders and to predict possible outcomes of the IFN-alfa/RBV treatments. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) can be used to understand the relationship between genetic inheritance and IFN-alfa/RBV therapeutic response. The aim in this study was to establish a predictive model based on a pharmacogenomic approach. Our study population comprised Taiwanese patients with CHC who were recruited from multiple sites in Taiwan. The genotyping data was generated in the high-throughput genomics lab of Vita Genomics, Inc. With the wrapper-based feature selection approach, we employed multilayer feedforward neural network (MFNN) and logistic regression as a basis for comparisons. Our data revealed that the MFNN models were superior to the logistic regression model. The MFNN approach provides an efficient way to develop a tool for distinguishing responders from nonresponders prior to treatments. Our preliminary results demonstrated that the MFNN algorithm is effective for deriving models for pharmacogenomics studies and for providing the link from clinical factors such as SNPs to the responsiveness of IFN-alfa/RBV in clinical association studies in pharmacogenomics

No spin-localization phase transition in the spin-boson model without local field

We explore the spin-boson model in a special case, i.e., with zero local field. In contrast to previous studies, we find no possibility for quantum phase transition (QPT) happening between the localized and delocalized phases, and the behavior of the model can be fully characterized by the even or odd parity as well as the parity breaking, instead of the QPT, owned by the ground state of the system. Our analytical treatment about the eigensolution of the ground state of the model presents for the first time a rigorous proof of no-degeneracy for the ground state of the model, which is independent of the bath type, the degrees of freedom of the bath and the calculation precision. We argue that the QPT mentioned previously appears due to unreasonable treatment of the ground state of the model or of the infrared divergence existing in the spectral functions for Ohmic and sub-Ohmic dissipations.Comment: 5 pages, 1 figure.
