    The reverse nearest neighbor search is used for spatial queries. The reverse nearest neighbor search, the object in high dimensional space has a certain region where all objects inside the region will think of query object as their nearest neighbor. The existing methods for reverse nearest neighbor search are limited to the single query point, which is inefficient for the high dimensional spatial databases etc. Therefore, in this paper we proposed a group reverse nearest neighbor search which can find multiple query objects in a specific region.     Should ACE2 be given a chance in COVID-19 therapeutics: a semi-systematic review of strategies enhancing ACE2

    The severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has resulted in almost 28 million cases of COVID-19 (Corona virus disease-2019) and more than 900000 deaths worldwide since December 2019. In the absence of effective antiviral therapy and vaccine, treatment of COVID-19 is largely symptomatic. By making use of its spike (S) protein, the virus binds to its primary human cell receptor, angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) which is present in the pulmonary epithelial cells as well as other organs. SARS-CoV-2 may cause a downregulation of ACE2. ACE2 plays a protective role in the pulmonary system through its Mas-receptor and alamandine-MrgD-TGR7 pathways. Loss of this protective effect could be a major component of COVID-19 pathogenesis. An attractive strategy in SARS-CoV-2 therapeutics would be to augment ACE2 either directly by supplementation or indirectly through drugs which increase its levels or stimulate its downstream players. In this semi-systematic review, we have analysed the pathophysiological interplay between ACE and ACE2 in the cardiopulmonary system, the modulation of these two proteins by SARS-CoV-2, and potential therapeutic avenues targeting ACE-Ang II and ACE2-Ang (1-7) axes, that can be utilized against COVID-19 disease progression

    Small RNAs with 5′-Polyphosphate Termini Associate with a Piwi-Related Protein and Regulate Gene Expression in the Single-Celled Eukaryote Entamoeba histolytica

    Small interfering RNAs regulate gene expression in diverse biological processes, including heterochromatin formation and DNA elimination, developmental regulation, and cell differentiation. In the single-celled eukaryote Entamoeba histolytica, we have identified a population of small RNAs of 27 nt size that (i) have 5′-polyphosphate termini, (ii) map antisense to genes, and (iii) associate with an E. histolytica Piwi-related protein. Whole genome microarray expression analysis revealed that essentially all genes to which antisense small RNAs map were not expressed under trophozoite conditions, the parasite stage from which the small RNAs were cloned. However, a number of these genes were expressed in other E. histolytica strains with an inverse correlation between small RNA and gene expression level, suggesting that these small RNAs mediate silencing of the cognate gene. Overall, our results demonstrate that E. histolytica has an abundant 27 nt small RNA population, with features similar to secondary siRNAs from C. elegans, and which appear to regulate gene expression. These data indicate that a silencing pathway mediated by 5′-polyphosphate siRNAs extends to single-celled eukaryotic organisms

    Short hairpin RNA-mediated knockdown of protein expression in Entamoeba histolytica

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p><it>Entamoeba histolytica </it>is an intestinal protozoan parasite of humans. The genome has been sequenced, but the study of individual gene products has been hampered by the lack of the ability to generate gene knockouts. We chose to test the use of RNA interference to knock down gene expression in <it>Entamoeba histolytica</it>.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>An episomal vector-based system, using the <it>E. histolytica </it>U6 promoter to drive expression of 29-basepair short hairpin RNAs, was developed to target protein-encoding genes in <it>E. histolytica</it>. The short hairpin RNAs successfully knocked down protein levels of all three unrelated genes tested with this system: Igl, the intermediate subunit of the galactose- and N-acetyl-D-galactosamine-inhibitable lectin; the transcription factor URE3-BP; and the membrane binding protein EhC2A. Igl levels were reduced by 72%, URE3-BP by 89%, and EhC2A by 97%.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Use of the U6 promoter to drive expression of 29-basepair short hairpin RNAs is effective at knocking down protein expression for unrelated genes in <it>Entamoeba histolytica</it>, providing a useful tool for the study of this parasite.</p

    Evolution of Emotional Intelligence, Virtual Team, and Job Performance : a Bibliometric Literature Review

    The objective of the thesis is to systematically present the publication trends related to Emotional intelligence, Virtual Teams and Job performance, which is interdisciplinary research contributing to the refinement and extension of existing theories in organizational behaviour, psychology and management. This study performed a bibliometric analysis to investigate article research between 2010 and 2024. Within the scope of the study, 12912 publications were included in the analysis. Of these, 9146 were articles and 2490 other publication types. The analysis included 8291 English articles. The study provides a structured literature review on the keywords; emotional intelligence (EI), Virtual teams (VT), and job performance (JP). The researchers adopted the Web of Science (WoB) database in the analysis and use the Bibliometric R package. A bibliometric analysis reveals trends in research publications, showing Emotional Intelligence as an emerging topic and trends in research as virtual teams were not visible. However, it seems that Virtual Teams are still a niche area of study. The keyword “Emotional Intelligence” stands out as the most frequently used keyword. This research contributes to the field by exploring current developments in the fields, highlighting current gaps in the literature, and recommending future research in this field. The fact that the keywords “Emotional Intelligence”, “Job performance”, and “Remote Teams” are frequently included in the literature showing that interdisciplinary academic studies in these fields are of great importance. As a whole, the study aims to offer an overview of the bibliometric methodology and step-by-step guidelines for conducting bibliometric analysis for business research

    MicroRNAs and cardiovascular medicine

    MicroRNAs are non-coding RNA sequences that act as regulators of gene expression. They are aberrantly expressed in many pathological conditions. Cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the general population. Various knock-in and knockdown approaches have shown abnormal signature patterns of microRNAs in cardiovascular conditions like cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias and vascular proliferative diseases. Since a single microRNA targets many genes, modulating a single microRNA involved in a disease carries a possible risk of undesirable side effects. The review focuses on current understanding of microRNAs in cardiovascular conditions, the possible underlying mechanisms and various approaches of modulating microRNAs
