Monitoring of agrometeorological conditions in the sugar beet field
The results
of agrometeorological and soil moisture
monitoring in the fi eld of sugar beet in the
Kujawy region in 2005–2006 are shown in
the paper. The examined growing seasons
(IV–IX) were average in precipitation according
to the SPI index. The moderate drought
occurred in August–September 2005 and
June–July 2006. The time distribution of
precipitation and soil moisture in 2006 was
more favourable than in 2005 for sugar beet
growing. According to crop drought index
CDI for sugar beet, the severe drought was in
2005 and severe bordered to moderate drought
was in 2006. The measured in the fi eld
and calculated according to CROPBALANCE
model values of soil moisture in the root
zone were agreeable. The meteorological
and soil moisture data and mathematical modelling
can be the important and useful elements
in the system of agrometeorological
monitoring and information in the Kujawy
region. The indices of meteorological (SPI)
and agricultural (CDI) drought can be the signifi
cant complement of this system
Gospodarowanie woda w glebach torfowo-murszowych metoda regulowanego odplywu w dolinie Biebrzy
Materiał badawczy stanowiły wyniki symulacji komputerowych warunków wilgotnościowych w glebach torfowo-murszowych MtIaa i MtIIbb w warunkach klimatycznych doliny Biebrzy przeprowadzone w latach 1970-1995. Określono częstość wystąpienia charakterystycznych stanów uwilgotnienia oraz maksymalną głębokość odwodnienia zapewniającą najdłuższy czas trwania dostatecznego uwilgotnienia. Głębokość ta niepowodująca przesuszenia gleb jest równa minimalnej normie odwodnienia z₁ zapewniającej 6% powietrza w warstwie korzeniowej. The paper shows the analysis and estimation of the influence of controlled outflow from valley meadow sites and the depth of their drainage on the course of soil moisture in the root zone under different hydrological feeding conditions. The results of computer simulations for peat-moorsh soils MtIaa i MtIIbb under climatic conditions of the Biebrza river valley in 1970-1995 enabled to determine the frequency of characteristic soil moisture states and the maximum depth of drainage ensuring the longest duration of the sufficient soil moisture. This depth preventing soil overdrying is equal to the minimum drainage norm z₁, of 6% air content in the root zone
