    Las opiniones de los estudiantes de formación pedagógica sobre la aplicación de dispositivos móviles y aplicaciones de comunicación móvil en la educación

    The purpose of this research is to examine the pedagogical formation students' views on the use of mobile devices and mobile communication applications for educational purposes. The universe of the study consists of all students who studies pedagogical formation at Education Faculty of Near East University in 2015-2016 academic year. The sample includes 391 students. The data were collected using “Educational Mobile Communication Applications Usage Scale” which was developed by Özçınar, Ekizoğlu & Kanbul. The study was conducted using relative screening model and employed Mann-Whitney U, t- test and Kruskal-Wallis test in determining the scores obtained by students from the entire scale and its subdimensions according to their age groups, mobile deice usage and employment of mobile communication applications in classes. In the end of the study, it was found out that students wanted to use mobile devices and mobile communication applications in classes, that their favorite application in daily life was WhatsApp application and that they chose “I agree” option in the entire scale and its sub-dimensions.El propósito de esta investigación es examinar la opinión pedagógica de los estudiantes sobre el uso de dispositivos móviles y aplicaciones de comunicación móvil con fines educativos. El universo del estudio está formado por todos los estudiantes que estudian formación pedagógica en la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad del Cercano Oriente en el año académico 2015-2016. La muestra incluye 391 alumnos. Los datos se recopilaron utilizando la "Escala de uso de aplicaciones de comunicación móvil educativa", que fue desarrollado por Özçınar, Ekizoğlu & Kanbul. El estudio se realizó utilizando un modelo de detección relativo y empleó la prueba U de Mann-Whitney y la prueba de Kruskal-Wallis para determinar los puntajes obtenidos por los estudiantes de toda la escala y sus subdimensiones según sus grupos de edad, uso de dispositivos móviles y empleo. de aplicaciones de comunicación móvil en las clases. Al final del estudio, se descubrió que los estudiantes querían usar dispositivos móviles y aplicaciones de comunicación móvil en las clases, que su aplicación favorita en la vida diaria era la aplicación WhatsApp y que eligieron la opción "Estoy de acuerdo" en toda la escala y sus subdimensiones

    Determinación de la relación entre las adicciones a las redes sociales y las adicciones a los teléfonos inteligentes de los estudiantes universitarios

    With the rapidly increasing technology, the purpose and usage tools of today’s people are changing. The use of this changing technology responds to our needs and raises other problems. In this study, the relationship between social media addiction status and smartphone addiction status of university students was investigated. In this study, the relationship between social media addiction and smartphone addiction of university students will be tried to be revealed. This research was carried out by using a relational scanning model to determine the relationship between social media addictions and smartphone addictions. The study group consists of 270 university students studying at a university in Northern Cyprus. It was found that the scores of the students participating in the study from the Social Media Addiction Scale and the Virtual Tolerance and Virtual Communication subscale scores and the scores obtained from the Smart Phone Addiction Scale were statistically significant. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the scores obtained from the social media addiction scale and the sub-dimensions of the scale according to the internet access of the students.Con el rápido aumento de la tecnología, el propósito y las herramientas de uso de la gente de hoy están cambiando. El uso de esta tecnología cambiante responde a nuestras necesidades y plantea otros problemas. En este estudio, se investigó la relación entre el estado de adicción a las redes sociales y el estado de adicción a los teléfonos inteligentes de los estudiantes universitarios. En este estudio, se intentará revelar la relación entre la adicción a las redes sociales y la adicción al teléfono inteligente de los estudiantes universitarios. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo utilizando un modelo de escaneo relacional para determinar la relación entre las adicciones a las redes sociales y las adicciones a los teléfonos inteligentes. El grupo de estudio consta de 270 estudiantes universitarios que estudian en una universidad en el norte de Chipre. Se encontró que los puntajes de los estudiantes que participaron en el estudio de la Escala de adicción a las redes sociales y los puntajes de la subescala de Tolerancia virtual y Comunicación virtual y los puntajes obtenidos de la Escala de adicción al teléfono inteligente fueron estadísticamente significativos. Se encontró que había una diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre los puntajes obtenidos de la escala de adicción a las redes sociales y las subdimensiones de la escala de acuerdo con el acceso a internet de los estudiantes

    The utilisation of digital devices and technologies is an integral part of children’s daily lives. Besides the multiple opportunities associated to online environment, like education entertainment and communication, it has also been associated with various risks like grooming and cyber bullying. It is therefore important to assess the level of risk, mediation and digital literacy among children as they form the most vulnerable part of the society. We therefore in this chapter introduce a novel approach to analysing digital children’s right by viewing it from the human right perspectives, where we focus and extensively discuss on digital child rights as they relate to digital divide, technological access, gender issues, internet opportunities and risks, previous studies, policies and rights, frameworks as well as rights of children as a human right

In today's world, scientific knowledge is changing and being updated rapidly due to the developments in science and technology. In parallel to this development, Project-based learning approach could be used to teach ways of accessing knowledge instead of transferring knowledge. In order to determine the teacher candidates' views on project-based learning approach, a questionnaire consisting of 28 questions was prepared and teacher candidates were asked to answer the questions.     Analyzing learning styles of students to improve educational practices for computer literacy course

The purpose of the present study was to determine the learning styles of students at Uludag University Faculty of Education in order to develop teaching strategies for the Computer Literacy Courses to be conducted in the future years. The study was conducted during the spring semester of the 2010 academic year. A total of 921 students from different departments of the faculty participated in this study. The understanding of digitalised and technology utilised education, which is the current trend of our age, is highlighted and some computer-mediated artefacts such as the so called modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment (MOODLE), the online virtual reality chatting game Second Life, and some others are introduced in a unified connection to show how they can be practically integrated in education, and how they can foster foreign language learning and practice, and intercultural communication.
