A stochastic method to compute the localisation landscape
The localisation landscape of L. Herviou and J. H. Bardarson is a
generalisation of the localisation landscape of M. Filoche and S. Mayboroda. We
propose a stochastic method to compute the localisation landscape that
enables the calculation of landscapes using sparse matrix methods. We also
propose an energy filtering of the landscape which can be used to focus
on eigenstates with energies in any chosen range of the energy spectrum. We
demonstrate the utility of these suggestions by applying the landscape to
Anderson's model of localisation in one and two dimensions, and also to
localisation in a model of the quantum Hall effect.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figure
Pathological femoral fractures due to osteomalacia associated with adefovir dipivoxil treatment for hepatitis B: a case report
Abstract We present a case of a 62-year-old man who underwent total hip arthroplasty for treatment of pathologic femoral neck fracture associated with adefovir dipivoxil-induced osteomalacia. He had a 13-month history of bone pain involving his shoulders, hips, and knee. He received adefovir dipivoxil for treatment of lamivudine-resistant hepatitis B virus infection for 5 years before the occurrence of femoral neck fracture. Orthopedic surgeons should be aware of osteomalacia and pathological hip fracture caused by drug-induced renal dysfunction, which results in Fanconi’s syndrome.
