    Demam Berdarah Dengue merupakan penyakit yang sampai saat ini belum ditemukan obat atau vaksinnya sehingga dilakukan upaya pencegahannya adalah dengan memutus rantai penularan penyakit yaitu dengan mengeradikasi vektornya. Masyarakat Pulau Buru, Provinsi Maluku menggunakan daun kayu putih untuk menghusir nyamuk. Dalam penggunaannya, daun kayu putih dibakar dan khasiatnya dapat mematikan nyamuk. Daun kayu putih mengandung minyak atsiri yang potensial dikembangkan sebagai larvasida alami pencegah berkembangbiaknya nyamuk A. aegypti. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui potensi ekstrak etanol daun kayu putih (Melaleuca leucadendron L) dalam membunuh larva nyamuk A. aegypti. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Tiga ratus larva nyamuk instar III dimasukan pada masing-masing wadah yang berisi ekstrak etanol herba meniran (EEHM) dengan konsentrasi yang sudah ditentukan. Tiap wadah diisi 20 larva. Pengamatan aktivitas larvasida ekstrak etanol herba meniran dilakukan setiap 2 jam sekali selama 24 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kayu putih mampu membunuh larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti dengan dosis efektif ekstrak etanol kulit batang kedondong dalam membunuh larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti adalah 20 g/mL.Nilai LC50 ekstrak etanol daun kayu putih sebesar 5,091 dengan batas bawah 1,904 dan batas atas 7,007. Sedangkan nilai LC90 ekstrak etanol daun kayu putih sebesar 12,599% dengan batas bawah 9,980 dan batas atas 20,091

    The use of herbal remedies in treating diabetes mellitus has been used for generations because in addition to the relatively small side effects, the price is more economical. Bintangur (Calophyllum inophyllum Linn) is a plant that has multiple benefits. Bintangur contains compounds derived from xantona, coumarins, flavonoids, benzodipiranones, triterpenoids and steroids. Flavonoid compounds in star leaves are thought to be able to capture free radicals that cause damage to cells β the pancreas that causes diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of ethanol extract of Calophyllum inophyllum Linn leaves against decreasing blood sugar levels of diabetes mellitus mice. Mice of 20 heads divided into 5 groups KN, K (-), K (+), P1 = dose 0.2 ml / head / day and P2 = dose 0.4 ml / head / day. In the K(-), K(+), P1 and P2 groups STZ induction and blood sugar levels were observed. After an increase in blood sugar levels in the K (+) group, metformin drugs were given, P1 and P2 were given stargur leaf extract according to a predetermined dosage. Observation of post-induction blood sugar levels was observed on days 7 and 14. The research data were then analyzed using the ANOVA test. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the calculated F value was 177.503 with an F probility of 0.000 (sig<0.05) which means that the administration of stargur leaf ethanol extract had an effect on kgd mice

    Background: Snack food is part of food that is inseparable from the community. Snack food consists of various types, one of which is skewer meatballs. Skewers are a type of snack food made from flour and meat that is round and then boiled until cooked, has a savory and chewy taste. One of the bacteria that often contaminates snacks is coliform bacteria. Coliform bacteria is a group of rod-shaped gram negative bacteria. Method: The sample used in the study was skewered meatball samples taken at the location of SDN 82 Kudamati and SDN 2 Tanah Tinggi Ambon. Testing for the presence of coliform bacteria was carried out at the Indonesian Institute of Research and Standardization Laboratory in Ambon. The type of research used is descriptive. Calculation of the number of bacterial colonies using the standard Total Plate Count (TPC). Results: The study showed that the two positive samples contained coliform bacteria with the highest number of coliform bacteria colonies in code A1 1.55 x 105 at location A SDN 82 Kudamati and the lowest at code B1 1.49 x 103 at location B SDN 2 Tanah Tinggi. If compared with SNI for processed meat and chicken products is 1 x 105 colonies / gram, which means the highest number of colonies cannot be consumed.     Mahkota Dewa polyphenol induction and apoptosis cell lung cancer in Balb/c strain mice analysis on up-regulation bax and downregulation Bcl-2Background: This research is aimed to prove the role of Mahkota Dewa polyphenol in the up-regulation Bax and down-regulation in strain Balb/c mice which inducted with benzo(a)pyrene (BaP).Method: Post test control group design with 30 strain Balb/c mice sample, aged 1-2 weeks, weighed 20-30 grams, healthy mice condition. All mice inducted with BaP and then randomized into 2 groups, which were the control group and the treatment group (polyphenol 50mg). The development of the lung carcinogenesis was observed by tissue surgery in the 8th, 17th and 26th week. The data collected include expression examination Bax and Bcl-2. The data analysis was conducted by Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitneyand correlation test of Spearman's with significance degree of p<a (0.05).Result: The oral administration of Mahkota Dewa polyphenol of 50 mg were significantly decreased the occurance of lung carcinogenesis through decreasing of protein Bax and increasing Bcl-2 in treatment group in week 8, 17 and 26 (p=0.000). Protein Bax for the control group for week 8 were 4.04±0.22 and 1.92±0.10 in week 26, while the treatment group were 5.96±0.32 and 4.68±0.22 (p=0.000). Protein Bcl-2 for the control group for week 8 were 5.80±0.32 and 9.64±0.26 in week 26, while the treatmentgroup were 5.12±0.22 and 7.38±0.21 (p=0.000). The Spearman correlation for Bax and Bcl-2 with significancy value of (p=0.000).Conclusion: The administration of Mahkota Dewa polyphenol of 50 mg effectively increased Bax protein expression and decreased Bcl-2 protein expression in mice Balb/c

Penilaian masing-masing lokasi menggunakan metode wawancara berdasarkan perspektif pemilik perusahaan. Kriteria umum seleksi lokasi adalah&nbsp; ukuran lokasi, biaya investasi, pasar, bahan baku, dan infrastruktur pendukung.
