    Bu çalışmanın amacıAltıncı, Yedinci ve Sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin rehberlik ve danışma ihtiyaçlarını, şube rehber öğretmenlerinin görüşlerine göre tespit etmektir. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin toplanmasında veri toplama yöntemi olarak yarıyapılandırılmışgörüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşmeler, 2006-2007 Eğitim öğretim yılında Konya Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlıöğretmenlerden oluşmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler Nvivo2’ ye kodlanmışve daha sonra kategoriler tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ortaya çıkan bulgular tartışılmışve sonuçlarla ilgili öneriler geliştirilmiştir

    Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin anne baba tutumlarıve rehberlik ihtiyaçlarının mesleki karar verme zorluklarının önemli bir yordayıcısıolup olmadığınısaptamaktır. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2004-2005 eğitim-öğretim yılında Konya İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü Selçuklu, Meram ve Karatay İlçeleri’ne bağlıortaöğretim Okuluna devam eden 9.10. ve 11. sınıf öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Bu araştırmada veri toplama aracıolarak “Mesleki Karar Verme ZorluklarıÖlçeği”, “Ana-Baba Tutumu Envanteri” ve “Rehberlik İhtiyacınıBelirleme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verilerinin çözümlenmesinde Pearson korelasyon katsayısıve stepwise regresyon analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin kişisel rehberlik ihtiyacıve mesleki rehberlik ihtiyacımesleki karar verme zorluklarının önemli bir yordayıcısıolarak bulunmuştur. Kişisel rehberlik ihtiyacı, mesleki karar verme zorluklarına ilişkin varyansın %13,9’unu açıklamaktadır. Kişisel rehberlik ve mesleki rehberlik ihtiyacı, mesleki karar verme zorluklarına ilişkin varyansın %15,5’ini açıklamaktadır

    Bu çalışmanın amacı, Heckert ve arkadaşları2000 tarafından geliştirilen Yeni İhtiyaç Değerlendirme Ölçeğinin YİDÖ üniversite öğrencilerinden oluşan bir grup üzerinde geçerlik ve güvenirliğini saptamaktır. Ölçeğin maddeleri psikolojik ihtiyaçlarla başarı, ilişki, özerklik ve başatlık ilgilidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Selçuk üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinden oluş-maktadır. YİDÖ’nün yapıgeçerliği ve faktör yapısınıincelemek amacıyla doğrulayıcıfaktör analizi yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirliği için, Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlılık katsayısıuygulanmıştır. YİDÖ’nün ölçüt bağıntılıgeçerliği için korelasyon katsayısına bakılmıştır. Ölçeğin içsel tutarlılık katsayısı.80 bulunmuştur. YİDÖ ‘nin ölçüt-bağıntılıgeçerliği için “Kişisel Tercih Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara dayanarak 20 maddelik orijinal ölçeğin Türkçe formunun dil eşdeğerliliğine sahip, güvenilir ve geçerli bir ölçek olduğu söylenebilir

    The Predictive Power of Undergraduates’ Personality Traits and Self-Esteem Regarding Their Forgiveness

    The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not the undergraduates’ personality traits and self-esteem predict their forgiveness. The study was conducted using a descriptive research designed as a relational survey method. The study group consists of 323 undergraduates, of whom 250 (77.2 %) are female and 73 (22.5%) are male. The Adjective Based Personality Scale (ABPT), developed by Bacanlı, İlhan & Arslan (2009), “Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale”, developed by Rosenberg (1965) and adapted to Turkish by Çuhadaroğlu (1986), and “Heartland Forgiveness Scale”, developed by Thompson, Snyder & Hoffman (2005) and adapted to Turkish by Bugay & Demir (2010), were used for data collection procedure. The results indicate that the undergraduates’ five-factor personality traits and self-esteem are correlated with their forgiveness levels. In addition, the undergraduates’ personality traits of openness, neuroticism and extroversion predict their forgiveness levels. Keywords: Forgiveness, Self-Esteem, Personality, Trait

    According to the Opinions of Teachers of Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities: What are the Sexual Problems of Students with Special Education Needs? How Should Sexual Education be Provided for Them?

    The purpose of this research is to determine what sexual problems that individuals with special educations needs have and how to provide sexual education for these students, depending on the opinions of the teachers of mentally handicapped individuals. The qualitative research technique was employed in this research. Purposeful sampling method was used for the research.  In the research, teachers who have worked at a special education institution for at least five years were included. Particularly those teachers having certain expertise in observing sexual problems and providing exact education related to these issues as a result of their 5 year-experience in institutions that they have worked were selected for the study population of the research. The study population of the research consisted of the teachers of mentally handicapped individuals working in Konya province.   The study population consisted of 25 teachers.  Eighteen of the teachers were female, seven of them were male. Working year experiences of the teachers ranged between 1-15 years. Semi-structure interview method was used to collect the data in the research. The data which were collected through the interview were analyzed using the content analysis technique. Themes were determined while interpreting the data.  Categories for each theme were prepared.  According to the results obtained through the content analysis of the data which were collected from the semi-structured interview form applied in the research, individuals with special education needs often apply to teachers about problems such as masturbation, marriage, adolescence problems and controlling sexual urges. The teachers report that they inform about general hygiene, problems encountered in adolescence period, dressing and behaving in accordance with gender characteristics. They emphasize that it is important to carefully monitor and know the individual, use clear and understandable words and provide sexual education by someone of the same gender while providing sexual education for individuals with special education needs.  About the problems while providing sexual education for the handicapped individuals, the teachers overemphasize issues such as difficulty of quitting a learned behavior by handicapped individuals, not knowing how to behave in public and closing themselves off, behaving shy.     University Students’ Early Maladaptive Schemas’ Prediction of Their Mindfulness Levels

    Objective: The aim of this study is to determine whether university students’ early maladaptive schemas predict their mindfulness levels or not. Method: The study was carried out in the relational screening model. The study group consisted of 293 university students; 237 (80,9%) females and 56 (19,1%) males. “Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS)”, developed by Brown and Ryan (2003) and adapted into Turkish by Özyeşil, Arslan, Kesici and Deniz (2011), and “Young Schema Scale-Short Form 3” developed by Young et al. (2003) and adapted into Turkish by Soygüt, Karaosmanoğlu and Çakır (2009) were used to gather the data for the study. Results: According to the results obtained from the study, it was found out that there is a significantly negative relation between the mindfulness and the schemas, except for the punitiveness and unrelenting standards. However, defectiveness and pessimism schemas were found to be the predictors of university students’ mindfulness levels. Conclusion: Preventing early maladaptive schemas from being triggered off is necessary in order to increase the mindfulness levels of the students. Parents need to avoid negative parent attitudes that trigger off the existence of early maladaptive schemas for the sake of this preventive study. The parents need to meet their children’s needs within realistic limits. Especially psychological needs need to be met moderately. The needs need to be met within realistic limits regularly and in a balanced way.     Creating Awareness of Sexual Abuse in Children with Special Education Needs: Depending on the Opinions of Teachers of the Mentally Handicapped

    The purpose of this research is to determine what students and families should do in order to prevent sexual abuse in students who need special education, depending on the opinions of teachers of mentally handicapped students. The qualitative research technique was used in this research. The study population of the research consisted of the teachers of mentally handicapped individuals working in Turkey/Konya province. The study population included 35 teachers. Semi-structure interview method was used as data collection method in collecting data in the research. According to the results, it is evident that individuals ought to be taught about their private parts, private parts in their bodies, and they ought to be made conscious about the fact that no one can touch these private parts in order to raise awareness about sexual abuse in individuals with special education needs. In order to stop sexual abuse by raising awareness in families of individuals with special education needs, it is necessary for families to acquire skills in terms of knowing their children, determining their needs and consulting an expert periodically. In order to raise awareness in the community about the sexual abuse in individuals with special education needs, the teachers express that all families should be trained, seminars should be organized on the issue and media ought to do its part to create awareness
