A Proactive Project Progress Management Scheme in the E-Business Environment

    Get PDF
This paper discusses about a management tool for effective project progress. Considered issue in this paper is a problem to estimate rational duration of each elementary operation for meeting final due completion time of a project. An effective procedure is proposed for this purpose that includes decision tree analysis, Bayes formula and particular iterative probability calculation. Three cases were examined to analyse the characteristics of the proposed procedure and it was clarified that this procedure provide a powerful support function for project planning and progress activities in the era of IT-oriented business environment, where the right timely decisions are critical

EVA-Based Decision Model for Manufacturing Investment and Its Application

In this paper, in order to evaluate manufacturing investment alternatives, two effective performance measures, i.e. manufacturing economic value added (M-EVA) and manufacturing market value added (M-MVA) are proposed and discussed. Their effectiveness is examined through their application to a case study, which tackles a large-scale investment problem of advanced manufacturing system (AMS), and obtained result clarified that proposed measures together with simulative evaluation method provide quantitative instrument for rational decision-making for advanced manufacturing system investment in the era of IT-oriented business environment, where the right timely decisions are critical

Common property resource and private capital accumulation with random jump

In [6], Long and Katayama presented a model of exploitation of a common property resource, when agents can also invest in private and productive capital. They considered the case where the resource extracted from a common pool is non-renewable. In this paper, we try to extend their result to the case where the common pool is under uncertainty in the sense that it could have a sudden increase or decrease in the process of extraction and moreover we shall calculate the exhaustion probability.common property resource, private capital accumulation, pure jump process, exhaustion probability, HJB (Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman) equation

General Rule and Materials Design of Negative Effective U System for High-T_c Superconductivity

Based on the microscopic mechanisms of (1) charge-excitation-induced negative effective U in s^1 or d^9 electronic configurations, and (2) exchange-correlation-induced negative effective U in d^4 or d^6 electronic configurations, we propose a general rule and materials design of negative effective U system in itinerant (ionic and metallic) system for the realization of high-T_c superconductors. We design a T_c-enhancing layer (or clusters) of charge-excitation-induced negative effective UU connecting the superconducting layers for the realistic systems.Comment: 11 pages, 1 figures, 2 tables, APEX in printin

In Orbit Performance of the MAXI/SSC onboard the ISS

We report here the in orbit performance of the CCD camera (MAXI/SSC) onboard the International Space Station (ISS). It was commissioned in August, 2009. This is the first all-sky survey mission employing X-ray CCDs. It consists of 32 CCDs each of which is 1 inch square. It is a slit camera with a field of view of 1deg.5x 90deg and scans the sky as the rotation of the ISS. The CCD on the SSC is cooled down to the working temperature around -60degC by the combination of the peltier cooler, a loop heat pipe and a radiator. The standard observation mode of the CCD is in a parallel sum mode (64-binning). The CCD functions properly although it suffers an edge glow when the Sun is near the field of view (FOV) which reduces the observation efficiency of the SSC down to about 30%. The performance of the CCD is continuously monitored both by the Mn-K X-rays and by the Cu-K X-rays. There are many sources detected, not only point sources but extended sources. Due to the lack of the effective observation time, we need more observation time to obtain an extended emission analysis extraction process.Comment: 15 pages 11 figure
