    A 3.4 Gbps 27-1 Pseudo Random Bit Sequence generator for Serial-Data Communications in 0.18�m CMOS

    This paper presents a 3.4 Gbps Pseudo Random Bit Sequence (PRBS) generator with sequence length of 27-1. The circuit uses 7- Bit shift register with a linear current mode XOR gate and current mode D flip-flop and works up to data rates of 3.4 Gbps. The simulated data jitter of the 3.4 Gbps output is 2.75ps with full swing output voltage of 1.8V and the binary-sequence repeats itself after 127 cycles PRBS generator implemented in Cadence 0.18�m CMOS technology

    Influence of Polymer Restraint on Ballistic Performanceof Alumina Ceramic Tiles

    An experimental study has been carried out to evaluate the influence of confinement ofalumina ceramic tiles through polymer restraint, on its ballistic performance. Tiles of 99.5 per centpurity alumina were subjected to ballistic impact against 7.62 mm armour piercing projectiles atvelocities of about 820 m/s. The tiles of size 75 mm x 75 mm x 7 mm were confined on both facesby effectively bonding varying numbers of layers of polymer fabrics. These were then bondedto a 10 mm thick fibre glass laminate as a backing using epoxy resin. High performance polyethyleneand aramid polymer fabrics were used in the current set of experiments for restraining the tiles.Comparative effects of confinement on energy absorption of tiles with varied number of layersof fabrics were evaluated. It was observed that by providing effective confinement to the tile,energy absorption could be doubled with increase in areal density by about 13 per cent.Photographs of the damage and the effects of restraint on improvement in energy absorptionof ceramic tiles are presented and discussed

    Objective: The present study was aimed at the evaluation of in vitro anthelmintic activity of ethanolic leaf extract of ipomeaaquatica against Indian earthworm Pheretimaposthuma.Methods: Four concentrations (25 mg/ml, 50 mg/ml, 75 mg/ml, 100 mg/ml) were tested and results were expressed in terms of time for paralysis and time of the death of worms. In this study, Albendazole was used as a standard drug.Results: Ethanolic leaf extract of ipomea aquatic showed significant activity at higher concentrations when compared to standard group (Albendazole).Conclusion: It can be concluded that the ethanolic leaf extract of Ipomeaaquaticahas shown more significant anthelmintic activity when compared to Albendazole against Indian earthworm Pheretimaposthuma

    EVALUATION OF IN VITRO ANTIUROLITHIATIC ACTIVITY OF CHLORIS BARBATA

    Objective: The present study was undertaken to evaluate the in vitro antiurolithiatic activity of the medicinal plant Chloris barbata.Methods: The crude plant extract was prepared by Soxhlet extraction method.Results: Both Ethanolic and Aqueous extracts showed their maximum efficiencies in the dissolution of calcium oxalate crystals. Ethanolic extract was even more efficient than Aqueous extract in the dissolution of calcium oxalate crystals. Our results have clearly indicated that the Aqueous and Ethanolic leaf extracts of Chlorisbarbata were quite promising for further studies in this regard. In this study, Neeri was used as standard drug.Conclusion: This study has given primary evidence for Chloris barbata as the plant which possess antiurolithiatic property

    Behaviour of a Blast Loaded Laced Reinforced Concrete Structure

    According to existing provisions, large separation distance has to be maintained between two conventional explosive storage structures to prevent sympathetic detonation. In this paper, reduction of the separation distance with the use of earth covered laced reinforced concrete (LRC) storage structure is demonstrated, which will result in saving of land cost. Details of blast resistant design of 75T (NEC) storage structure based on unit risk principle are presented. Performance of the storage structure is evaluated in an actual blast trial. Strain and deflection profiles are obtained from the trial.     A Robust and Oblivious Watermarking Method Using Maximum Wavelet Coefficient Modulation and Genetic Algorithm

    An image watermarking method using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) is presented for applications like content authentication and copyright protection. This method is robust to various image attacks. For watermark detection/extraction, the cover image is not essential. Gray scale images of size 512 × 512 as cover image and binary images of size 64 × 64 as watermark are used in the simulation of the proposed method. Watermark embedding is done in the DWT domain. 3rd and 2nd level detail sub-band coefficients are selected for further processing. Selected coefficients are arranged in different blocks. The size of the block and the number blocks depends on the size of the watermark. One watermark bit is embedded in each block. Then, inverse DWT operation is performed to get the required watermarked image. This watermarked image is used for transmission and distribution purposes. In case of any dispute over the ownership, the hidden watermark is decoded to solve the problem. Threshold-based method is used for watermark extraction. Control parameters are identified and optimized based on GA for targeted performance in terms of PSNR and NCC. Performance comparison is done with the existing works and substantial improvement is witnessed

    Instrumentation-related uncertainty of reflectance and transmittance measurements with a two-channel spectrophotometer

    Spectrophotometers are operated in numerous fields of science and industry for a variety of applications. In order to provide confidence for the measured data, analyzing the associated uncertainty is valuable. However, the uncertainty of the measurement results is often unknown or reduced to sample-related contributions. In this paper, we describe our approach for the systematic determination of the measurement uncertainty of the commercially available two-channel spectrophotometer Agilent Cary 5000 in accordance with the Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurements. We focus on the instrumentation-related uncertainty contributions rather than the specific application and thus outline a general procedure which can be adapted for other instruments. Moreover, we discover a systematic signal deviation due to the inertia of the measurement amplifier and develop and apply a correction procedure. Thereby we increase the usable dynamic range of the instrument by more than one order of magnitude. We present methods for the quantification of the uncertainty contributions and combine them into an uncertainty budget for the device. © 2017 Author(s)

    Optimum sowing time of quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd) in Telangana State, India

    A field experiment was conducted in 2016-17 and 2017-18 during Rabi season at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Palem, Nagarkurnool District of Telangana State, India. The treatments consisted of 7 sowing dates with 15-day intervals (T1- October 10th, T2- October 25th, T3- November 10th, T4- November 25th, T5- December 10th, T6- December 25th and T7- January 10th). The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design and was replicated three times. This study was conducted with the objective of determining the optimum sowing time for quinoa in Telangana state, India. A greater seed yield was detected for the crops sown between October 10th (2174 kg/ha) and November 25th (1931 kg/ha); on further delay in sowing after November 25th, i.e., December 10th (1026 kg/ha), December 25th (600 kg/ha) and January 10th (590 kg/ha), the seed yields were drastically reduced due to the higher temperature at the reproductive stage of the crop. Hence, from this study, it can be noted that the optimum sowing date for quinoa in Telangana was from October 10th to November 25th
