Generalization and Demonstration of an Entanglement Based Deutsch-Jozsa Like Algorithm Using a 5-Qubit Quantum Computer
This paper demonstrates the use of entanglement resources in quantum speedup
by presenting an algorithm which is the generalization of an algorithm proposed
by Goswami and Panigrahi [arXiv:1706.09489 (2017)]. We generalize the algorithm
and show that it provides deterministic solutions having an advantage over
classical algorithm. The algorithm answers the question of whether a given
function is constant or balanced and whether two functions are equal or
unequal. Finally, we experimentally verify the algorithm by using IBM's
five-qubit quantum computer with a high fidelity.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figure
Scalar-metric quantum cosmology with Chaplygin gas and perfect fluid
In this paper we consider the flat FRW cosmology with a scalar field coupled
with the metric along with generalized Chaplygin gas and perfect fluid
comprising the matter sector. We use the Schutz's formalism to deal with the
generalized Chaplygin gas sector. The full theory is then quantized canonically
using the Wheeler-DeWitt Hamiltonian formalism. We then solve the WD equation
with appropriate boundary conditions. Then by defining a proper completeness
relation for the self-adjointness of the WD equation we arrive at the wave
packet for the universe. It is observed that the peak in the probability
density gets affected due to both fluids in the matter sector, namely, the
Chaplygin gas and perfect fluid.Comment: 8 pages Late
Estimating Parameter of the Selected Uniform Population Under the Generalized Stein Loss Function
This paper deals with the problem of estimating scale parameter of the selected uniform population when sample sizes are unequal. The loss has been measured by the generalized Stein loss (GSL) function. The uniformly minimum risk unbiased (UMRU) estimator is derived, and the natural estimators are also constructed under the GSL function. One of the natural estimators is proved to be the generalized Bayes estimator with respect to a noninformative prior. For k = 2, we obtained a sufficient condition for an inadmissibility result and demonstrate that the natural estimator and UMRU estimator are inadmissible. A simulation investigation is also carried out for the performance of the risk functions of various competing estimators. Finally, this article represents a conclusion of our study
BCAS: A Web-enabled and GIS-based Decision Support System for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer
For decades, geographical variations in cancer rates have been observed but the precise determinants of such geographic differences in breast cancer development are unclear. Various statistical models have been proposed. Applications of these models, however, require that the data be assembled from a variety of sources, converted into the statistical models’ parameters and delivered effectively to researchers and policy makers. A web-enabled and GIS-based system can be developed to provide the needed functionality. This article overviews the conceptual web-enabled and GIS-based system (BCAS), illustrates the system’s use in diagnosing and treating breast cancer and examines the potential benefits and implications for breast cancer research and practice
