Investigations on Energy Efficiency for WSN Routing Protocols for Realistic Radio Models

    Get PDF
In this paper, we have extended the Prowler simulator by integrating different realistic radio models into it and comparatively analyzed the effect of the channel behavior on the network layer specifically the WSN routing protocols. The simulation results indicate that the CF protocol consumes the highest energy amongst all the protocols in case of RMGMF while RTS protocol has the highest energy efficiency in case of NRM. Thus it has been concluded that the RTS protocol can be applied to achieve energy efficient routing in wireless sensor networks

Canine parvovirus (CPV) is an important pathogen causing acute hemorrhagic gastroenteritis in dogs and myocarditis in pups. The present study deals with an analysis of partial nucleotide sequences of the VP1/VP2 gene of CPV isolates from Mathura, India to establish their phylogenetic relationship with other CPV isolates. Out of 100 samples from dogs showing the clinical signs of gastroenteritis viz., vomiting, diarrhea and dysentery, 63 were found positive for CPV-2 by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Among the 63 positive samples, eight samples were processed further for nucleotide sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the CPV variants were not only closely related among themselves but also showed minimum divergence from their ancestors, such as MEV, indicating very little divergence since their origin. From the study, it may be concluded that canine parvovirus-2 variants may represent a potential threat to canine populations. Thus more efforts is required to increase epidemiological monitoring and surveillance, along with the measures necessary to control this disease in the canine population, and to assess the efficacy of the current vaccines.

Moisture management and wicking properties of polyester- cotton plated knits

Effect of yarn linear density on moisture management and wicking properties of polyester-cotton plated knit structures has been studied. Linear density of yarns used in inner and outer layer as well as the difference in the yarn linear density for the two layers have been found to affect the liquid transfer from inner to outer layer, liquid spreading in the outer layer and hence the drying ability of the designed fabrics. Wetting time increases, while decrease in absorption rate and spreading speed is observed with the increase in inner and outer layer yarn linear density. The fabrics are graded and classified based on the obtained moisture management indices. Trans planar wicking is found higher for fabrics with greater difference in linear density between inner and outer layers as a result of selection of finer yarns in inner layer

Liquid transfer properties and drying behavior of plated knitted fabrics with varying fibre types

The present study aims at investigating the effect of face yarn linear density and back layer fibre type on the liquid transfer properties and drying behavior of single jersey plated knitted fabrics. Fabrics knitted with coarser yarns exhibit high water absorbency, slow drying capability (characterized by lower water evaporation percentage) and appear to be unsuitable for high activity levels. Polypropylene/cotton fabric is found to be the preferred choice at high activity levels owing to lower water absorption, higher trans planar wicking and higher water evaporation percentage. Plated fabrics with nylon in the next to skin layer show high water absorption, poor trans planar wicking and slow drying capability. Nylon/cotton fabrics are, therefore, found to be ineffective in providing dry microclimate next to skin and may not be suitable at high activity levels

High pressure studies on the electrical resistivity of As–Te–bond Si glasses and the effect of network topological thresholds

The variation of resistivity in an amorphous As30Te70−x Si x system of glasses with high pressure has been studied for pressures up to 8 GPa. It is found that the electrical resistivity and the conduction activation energy decrease continuously with increase in pressure, and samples become metallic in the pressure range 1.0–2.0 GPa. Temperature variation studies carried out at a pressure of 0.92 GPa show that the activation energies lie in the range 0.16–0.18 eV. Studies on the composition/average co-ordination number ⟨ r⟩ dependence of normalized electrical resistivity at different pressures indicate that rigidity percolation is extended, the onset of the intermediate phase is around ⟨ r⟩=2.44, and completion at ⟨ r⟩=2.56, respectively, while the chemical threshold is at ⟨ r⟩=2.67. These results compare favorably with those obtained from electrical switching and differential scanning calorimetric studies

Online Food Delivery channels have emerged in recent years which have made all the customers almost their slaves across India as most of us heavily rely upon them. At a lesser cost, these help us to order our food items with a wide variety of choice. When it comes to cost, Delivery charges play a major important factor in determining the price of different items through different online food channels.Customers as well as business houses now a days have a contemporary perception of delivery charges associated with such products and services available in the market This research paper explains the customer perception towards their ordering capacity when delivery charges are taken into consideration by them and more often are possibly changed by these food delivery partners. To study the customer perception, a sample size of 106 respondents was chosen and the data collected from such respondents was analyzed using Cross Tabulation and Chi Square Tests. It was elucidated from the analysis that for most of the customers delivery charges influences their capacity to order and most of the times customers have changed their mind to order online food when delivery charges are considerably high
