Estimation of Severity of Speech Disability through Speech Envelope
In this paper, envelope detection of speech is discussed to distinguish the
pathological cases of speech disabled children. The speech signal samples of
children of age between five to eight years are considered for the present
study. These speech signals are digitized and are used to determine the speech
envelope. The envelope is subjected to ratio mean analysis to estimate the
disability. This analysis is conducted on ten speech signal samples which are
related to both place of articulation and manner of articulation. Overall
speech disability of a pathological subject is estimated based on the results
of above analysis.Comment: 8 pages,4 Figures,Signal & Image Processing Journal AIRC
Comparative Study on Cost Analysis, Strength of Concrete with Natural and Manufactured sand in Residential Building
The huge quantity of concrete is consumed by construction industry all over the world. This fact has forced the Government to laydown restrictions on sand quarrying process resulting in the scarcity and significant rise in its cost. The substitute and replacement of natural sand is by crushing natural stone it will easily get manufactured sand. In this Report we have considered Residential Building which has used different grade of concrete out of which the compressive strength analysis and cost analysis of M30 grade is studied
Comparative Study on Cost Analysis of Natural & Manufacture Sand in Residential Building
The huge quantity of concrete is consumed by construction industry all over the world. In India, the conventional concrete is produced by using natural sand obtained from riverbeds as fine aggregate. The cheapest and the easiest way of getting substitute for natural sand is by crushing natural stone to get manufactured sand which would be free from all impurities. Manufactured sand is a term used for aggregate materials less than 4.75mm and which are processed from crushed rock or gravel. The concrete mixes having different mix proportions for both natural and manufactured sand (i.e. 100%NS+0%MS, 70%NS+30%MS, 40%NS+60%MS, and 0%Ns+100%MS) were prepared for M30 grade of concrete for cubes. Then there were 2 case studies is taken in which slab concrete cost of building by done construction and concrete cost of same quantity by my trial mix variation is compared. And this cost comparison of trial mix is done with cost of Natural sand & Manufactured Sand obtained from 3 different citie
QAware: A Cross-Layer Approach to MPTCP Scheduling
Multipath TCP (MPTCP) allows applications to transparently use all available
network interfaces by creating a TCP subflow per interface. One critical
component of MPTCP is the scheduler that decides which subflow to use for each
packet. Existing schedulers typically use estimates of end-to-end path
properties, such as delay and bandwidth, for making the scheduling decisions.
In this paper, we show that these scheduling decisions can be significantly
improved by incorporating readily available local information from the device
driver queues in the decision-making process. We propose QAware, a novel
cross-layer approach for MPTCP scheduling. QAware combines end-to-end delay
estimates with local queue buffer occupancy information and allows for a better
and faster adaptation to the network conditions. This results in more efficient
use of the available resources and considerable gains in aggregate throughput.
We present the design of QAware and evaluate its performance through
simulations, and also through real experiments, comparing it to existing
schedulers. Our results show that QAware performs significantly better than
other available approaches for various use-cases and applications.Comment: in Proceedings of IFIP Networking 2018, 2018 available at:

HER-2 GENE, RECEPTORS AND DRUG TARGET: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW
The discovery and identification of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER's-2) genes, have led to a better understanding of breast tumour biology. A member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family, it is a potent mediator of cellular growth and proliferation in malignant epithelial cells. Amplification or over expression of HER-2 occurs in approximately 15–30 % of breast cancers and 10–30 % of gastric/gastroesophageal cancers and serves as a prognostic and predictive biomarker. Treatment with HER-2 targeted monoclonal antibody, trastuzumab dramatically improved outcome in patients with breast malignancy. This promising approach led to the development of pertuzumab, ado-trastuzumab emtansine and lapatinib. The development of drug resistance and disease progression due to alternate signalling remained a real therapeutic challenge. Several research studies are currently focused on inhibition of onco-proteins, kinases and growth factors linked to HER-2 positive breast cancers. The success of immune checkpoint modulators and vaccines in preliminary studies describes the role of tumour immunity. Apart from its role in the pathogenesis of various cancers, HER-2 directed therapeutic approach has brought about a revolutionary change in terms of time to progression and survival rates in breast cancers. Keywords: ErbB-2 signalling, Targeted approach, Trastuzumab, Drug resistanc
Case Report Fibrous Dysplasia of the Palate: Report of a Case and Review of Palatal Swellings
Fibrous dysplasia is a benign fibroosseous lesion characterised by the replacement of normal bone by excessive proliferation of cellular fibrous connective tissue which is slowly replaced by bone, osteoid, or cementum-like material. It causes bone pain, deformities, and pathological fractures. Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a sporadic benign skeletal disorder that can affect one bone (monostotic form) or multiple bones (polyostotic form). In this paper, we present case of a monostotic fibrous dysplasia on the hard palate of 14-year-old girl and a tabular review of common palatal swellings
