Pseudoclassical theories of Majorana, Weyl and Majorana--Weyl particles
A pseudoclassical theories of Majorana, Weyl and Majorana--Weyl particles in
the space--time dimensions are constructed. The canonical quantization
of these theories is carried out and as a result we obtain the quantum
mechanical description of neutral particle in , Weyl particle in
and neutral Weyl particle in . In dimensional
space--time the description of the neutral particle coincides with the field
theoretical description of the Majorana particle in the Foldy--Wouthuysen
representation. In dimensions the neutral Weyl particle coincides with
the Majorana--Weyl particle in the Foldy--Wouthuysen representation.Comment: LATEX, 17 pages, no figure
Synchrotron radiation from a charge moving along a helical orbit inside a dielectric cylinder
The radiation emitted by a charged particle moving along a helical orbit
inside a dielectric cylinder immersed into a homogeneous medium is
investigated. Expressions are derived for the electromagnetic potentials,
electric and magnetic fields, and for the spectral-angular distribution of
radiation in the exterior medium. It is shown that under the Cherenkov
condition for dielectric permittivity of the cylinder and the velocity of the
particle image on the cylinder surface, strong narrow peaks are present in the
angular distribution for the number of radiated quanta. At these peaks the
radiated energy exceeds the corresponding quantity for a homogeneous medium by
some orders of magnitude. The results of numerical calculations for the angular
distribution of radiated quanta are presented and they are compared with the
corresponding quantities for radiation in a homogeneous medium. The special
case of relativistic charged particle motion along the direction of the
cylinder axis with non-relativistic transverse velocity (helical undulator) is
considered in detail. Various regimes for the undulator parameter are
discussed. It is shown that the presence of the cylinder can increase

Electromagnetic field and radiation for a charge moving along a helical trajectory inside a waveguide with dielectric filling
We investigate the electromagnetic field generated by a point charge moving
along a helical trajectory inside a circular waveguide with conducting walls
filled by homogeneous dielectric. The parts corresponding to the radiation
field are separated and the formulae for the radiation intensity are derived
for both TE and TM waves. It is shown that the main part of the radiated quanta
is emitted in the form of the TE waves. Various limiting cases are considered.
The results of the numerical calculations show that the insertion of the
waveguide provides an additional mechanism for tuning the characteristics of
the emitted radiation by choosing the parameters of the waveguide and filling

Ovarian reserve in women with obesity
BACKGROUND: One of the consequences of obesity for the female body is a decrease in fertility. It is shown that impaired reproductive function in obese patients can be associated, in particular, with a decrease in ovarian reserve. AIMS: To evaluate the ovarian reserve function in female patients of reproductive age with different classes of obesity in comparison with women without obesity. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study evaluated 320 caucasian women, age 20-30 years, without obesity (BMI<30, n=80) and with obesity WHO class I-III (n=80 per class). Anthropometrics, serum concentrations of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), inhibin B, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone were compared on the 2-3 day of menstrual cycle as ovarian volume and antral follicle count (AFC). RESULTS: We reveal statistically significant difference in following parameters in normal BMI women in comparison with obesity women: AMH, testosterone, ovarian volume and AFC. Moreover, we reveal significant difference between patients with different WHO class of obesity. But even in class III obesity parameters remained within reference ranges. CONCLUSIONS: Ovarian reserve function parameters progressively decrease with increase of obesity class in subjects, but ovarian reserve parameters were in normal reference range even in class III obese patients. Further large randomized multicenter studies are required to find influence of obesity in relation to ethnicity and other factors to ovarian reserve function
Physics of the Muon Spectrometer of the ALICE Experiment
The main goal of the Muon spectrometer of the ALICE experiment at LHC is the
measurement of heavy quark production in p+p, p+A and A+A collisions at LHC
energies, via the muonic channel. Physics motivations and expected performances

Multiband theory of quantum-dot quantum wells: Dark excitons, bright excitons, and charge separation in heteronanostructures
Electron, hole, and exciton states of multishell CdS/HgS/CdS quantum-dot
quantum well nanocrystals are determined by use of a multiband theory that
includes valence-band mixing, modeled with a 6-band Luttinger-Kohn Hamiltonian,
and nonparabolicity of the conduction band. The multiband theory correctly
describes the recently observed dark-exciton ground state and the lowest,
optically active, bright-exciton states. Charge separation in pair states is
identified. Previous single-band theories could not describe these states or

Channeling of Positrons through Periodically Bent Crystals: on Feasibility of Crystalline Undulator and Gamma-Laser
The electromagnetic radiation generated by ultra-relativistic positrons
channelling in a crystalline undulator is discussed. The crystalline undulator
is a crystal whose planes are bent periodically with the amplitude much larger
than the interplanar spacing. Various conditions and criteria to be fulfilled
for the crystalline undulator operation are established. Different methods of
the crystal bending are described. We present the results of numeric
calculations of spectral distributions of the spontaneous radiation emitted in
the crystalline undulator and discuss the possibility to create the stimulated
emission in such a system in analogy with the free electron laser. A careful
literature survey covering the formulation of all essential ideas in this field
is given. Our investigation shows that the proposed mechanism provides an
efficient source for high energy photons, which is worth to study
