Relativistic coupled-cluster calculations of 20^{20}Ne, 40^{40}Ar, 84^{84}Kr and 129^{129}Xe: correlation energies and dipole polarizabilities

We have carried out a detailed and systematic study of the correlation energies of inert gas atoms Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe using relativistic many-body perturbation theory and relativistic coupled-cluster theory. In the relativistic coupled-cluster calculations, we implement perturbative triples and include these in the correlation energy calculations. We then calculate the dipole polarizability of the ground states using perturbed coupled-cluster theory.Comment: 10 figures, 6 tables, submitted to PR

Background: Malleus, incus and stapes are the three ear ossicles present in middle ear. The auditory ossicles of the middle ear have a fundamental role in transmission of sound. The aim of this study was to determine development of ear ossicles from prenatal to postnatal life which will be of great help for an ENT surgeon who should be well conversant with the anatomical details of middle ear prior to undertake reconstruction procedures for the improvement of sound conduction in conductive deafness. Methods: The study was conducted in 25 foetuses and 25 adult ossicles after removal from temporal bones of embalmed cadavers. Vernier caliperse was used to measure different morphometric parameters to study growth and development of ossicles. Results: Malleus: The average length of Malleus varies from 4 to 7.24mm in foetuses and adults respectively. The length of the anterior process was variable and some of the processes were quite long. Incus: The incus had minimum morphological variations in the ossicles. Its length ranges from 4.97-6.94mm. Stapes: The stapes had maximum morphological variations in the ossicles. The variations of stapes were in the neck, the cruses and the foot plate. The variations seen in stapes were no neck, a short or a long neck. The cruses of the stapes had symmetry or asymmetry. Length varies from 2.45-3.8mm.Conclusions: Ossicles at 20 weeks of prenatal life were cartilagenous, and at 24 weeks they were ossified and surrounded by mesenchyme. Postnatal changes were minimal. These parameters of Ossicles will help in designing of implants and treating hearing loss

Increasing planting density in Jasminum sambac (L.) is a recent trend among farmers and an effective strategy for improving flower productivity without affecting the standard of flower buds. This study aimed to establish the effect of varied plant density with different pruning levels on the flower quality during off, peak and lean seasons in J. sambac during 2021-‘22. The treatments comprised of four levels of plant density viz., D1- one plant pit-1 (control), D2 - two plants pit-1, D3 - three plants pit-1, D4 - four plants pit-1 and two levels of pruning viz., P1 - one pruning year-1(control), P2 - two prunings  year-1. The trial was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with three replications. The important traits on flower quality parameters namely the total length of the flower bud, length of the flower bud without corolla tube and corolla tube length, were influenced significantly (P<0.05) by three plants pit-1 (D3) and two prunings year-1 (P2). But there was no interaction effect between plant density and pruning frequency for these flower quality parameters. The interaction effect was also significantly (P<0.05) influenced by the physiological and biochemical traits, namely chlorophyll content, total phenol content, soluble protein and Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) oxidase activity. The pooled analysis data of the treatment T6 (D3P2) was found superior due to increased plant density combined with alteration in pruning. This performed better with enhanced number of new shoots and produced good quality flower buds through enhancement of physiological activity in all three seasons (off, peak and lean) when compared to conventional planting T1 (D1P1) method

Floating-point numbers are broadly received in numerous applications due their element representation abilities. Floating-point representation has the capacity hold its determination and exactness contrasted with altered point representations. Any Digital Signal Processing (DSP) calculations utilization floating-point math, which obliges a huge number of figuring’s every second to be performed. For such stringent necessities, outline of quick, exact and effective circuits is the objective of each VLSI creator. This paper displays a correlation of pipelined floating-point snake dissention with IEEE 754 organization with an unpipelined viper additionally protests with IEEE 754 arrangement. It depicts the IEEE floating-point standard 754. A pipelined floating point unit in light of IEEE 754 configuration is produced and the outline is contrasted and that of an unpipelined floating point unit and an investigation is defeated speed, range, and force contemplations. It builds the rate as well as is vitality productive. Every one of these changes is at the expense of slight increment in the chip region. The basic methodology and approach used for VHDL (Very Large Scale Integration Hardware Descriptive Language) implementation of the floating-point unit are also described. Detailed synthesis report operated upon Xilinx ISE 11 software and Modelsim is given

    Get PDF
Practice of starter culture is an age old practice but without any scientific basis. With the awareness of need of microbial inoculations for regulation of fermentation process for quality production of desired quality foods innovative development have taken place. Development of new strains for elite strain which can improve the quality, stability, flavor, texture and phage resistant starter cultures are raised on a variety of medium depending organism as well as product to be developed. The starter culture are classified based on their composition growth requirement and methods of propagation. These starter cultures are preserved by different methods they can be available all the time. Though commercial strains are available their isolation and subsequent improvement through different genetical methods are desirable to get a novel strains with unique properties of commercial importance. Among different microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria, yeast (Saccharomyce cerevisae, Penicillium camembertii, P. roquefortii) and Rhyzopus (R. oryzae, R. sojae) are extensively used for this purpose. Perfection in the preparation, storage and propagation need to be improved. Mixed starters with symbiotic activity have to be formulated

Matrix cadmium accumulation depolarizes mitochondria isolated from mouse brain

    Get PDF
Cadmium (Cd2+) is an environmental contaminant commonly found in industrial settings with a biological half-life of 30 years. Although the accumulation and subsequent cytotoxicity of Cd2+ in nervous tissue is well documented, it is unclear exactly how Cd2+ kills cells. One potential mechanism involves inhibition of cellular energy production. In this study, we used fluorescence microscopy to monitor the effects of Cd2+ on mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) in individual mitochondria isolated from mouse brain. Mitochondria were attached to microscopy glass and loaded with rhodamine 123, a fluorescent indicator that collects in energized and respiring mitochondria, i.e., those with a robust ΔΨm. We found that Cd2+ at relatively low concentrations quickly and completely abolished ΔΨm. Cd2+ actions were concentration- dependent, and were relatively potent and efficacious when compared to calcium (Ca2+) and zinc (Zn2+). Moreover, the Ca2+ uniporter blocker ruthenium red protected against Cd2+-induced depolarization, suggesting that matrix entry of Cd2+ through this traditional Ca2+ pathway is necessary for its effect. These results demonstrate that Cd2+ substantially inhibits mitochondrial function and provide important insight regarding the mechanism of Cd2+-mediated neurotoxicity

Background: Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are clonal hematopoietic stem cell disorders primarily of the adults. The 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of MPNs include the molecular landscape as one of the diagnostic criteria. JAK2 exon14 (JAK2 V617F), JAK2 exon12, Myeloproliferative leukemia virus oncogene exon 10 (MPL 515), and calreticulin exon 9 (CALR) mutations are the main somatic driver mutations detected in classic BCR-ABL1 negative MPNs. Methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted including 99 patients diagnosed with classic BCR-ABL1 negative MPNs during a 3-year time period, from March 2018 to February 2021 in the departments of pathology and clinical haematology- haemato oncology of a tertiary care teaching hospital. Clinical, haematological and morphological features were analysed and correlated with MPN associated mutation studies done in blood/bone marrow samples. Results: The prevalence of polycythaemia vera (PV) was found to be higher than other MPN, two third of which were JAK2 positive. More than half of the cases of primary myelofibrosis (PMF) and essential thrombocythemia (ET) also showed JAK2 mutation. CALR was positive in 17.4% of ET and 31.3% of PMF; MPL in 4.4% of ET and 3.1% of PMF. Conclusions: The prevalence of triple-negative MPN point towards the need for whole-exome sequencing of triple-negative MPN
