Compression behaviour of hand-tufted carpets: Part I–Effect of short-term static and dynamic loading

    Get PDF
The effect of static and dynamic loading on the compression characteristics of hand tufted carpets has been studied using two types of pile materials. Wool tufted carpets are found to show better retention of thickness. Higher tuft density is found to assist retention of thickness, while higher pile height results in more thickness loss. Thickness loss is also found to be more at the initial impacts, while the recovery rate is found to be more at the initial stag

Equation for Aeroacoustics in a Quiescent Environment

The perturbation equation for aeroacoustics has been derived in a dissipative medium from the linearized compressible Navier-Stokes equation without any assumption, by expressing the same in spectral plane as in Continuum perturbation field in quiescent ambience: Common foundation of flows and acoustics Sengupta et al., Phys. Fluids,35, 056111 (2023). The governing partial differential equation (PDE) for the free-field propagation of the disturbances in the spectral plane provides the dispersion relation between wavenumber and circular frequency in the dissipative medium, as characterized by a nondimensional diffusion number. Here, the implications of the dispersion relation of the perturbation field in the quiescent medium are probed for different orders of magnitude of the generalized kinematic viscosity, across large ranges of the wavenumber and the circular frequency. The adopted global spectral analysis helps not only classify the PDE into parabolic and hyperbolic types, but also explain the existence of a critical wavenumber depending on space-time scales.Comment: 19 pages, 10 figure

Elastic recovery properties of polyester-cotton blended Eli-Twist yarns

420-423The influence of blend ratio, as well as amplitude and rate of extension on recovery properties of polyester-cotton blended Eli-Twist yarns have been studied. The composition of the yarn and the testing parameters are found to play important role in deciding the recovery characteristics of the yarn. A higher rate of extension is found to result in more immediate recovery, while a low rate of extension results in higher permanent deformation and low immediate recovery. On the contrary, the increase in amplitude of extension results in low immediate recovery and higher permanent deformation. Increase in the percentage of polyester assists higher recovery and low permanent deformation

E-trade System for Wardha Wardhini: An Initiative to Online Local Market

Online retailing, its growth and possible future trends have captured the imaginations of a wide range of commentators. Much of their debate has focused on how consumers now access a range of services online that they previously accessed via other channels; now more than ever, booking travel, managing our finances, gambling, downloading films and other leisure activities are all increasingly done online. But while this movement online has been widely documented, its effects on workforces has not. For local shop owners it’s still hard to buy or sell products online. TO solve such issue of WardhainiWardha city. We have proposed a complete B2C architecture for Wardhini goods and products in Wardha City. Its an initiative for all local shop owners to bring their products in online retailing market

Histopathological study of neoplastic and non-neoplastic lesions of salivary gland: a study at a tertiary care center

Background: Salivary gland lesions are highly heterogenous group of disorder. There are no reliable criteria to differentiate benign from malignant lesions on clinical grounds, so histopathological evaluation is essential. Methods: The present study was retrospective study carried out in the department of pathology, Government medical college, Surat from January 2015 to June 2020. Biopsies/specimens were fixed by 10% neutral buffered formalin and processed, embedded in paraffin and sections were cut and stained with hematoxylin and eosin stain. All the slides were reviewed by authors and re-staining of slides and fresh sections of tissue blocks were performed whenever required. Results: Out of 80 cases, 22 were non-neoplastic, 45 were benign and 13 were malignant. In our study most common non neoplastic lesion was chronic sialadenitis. Most common benign lesion was pleomorphic adenoma. Most common malignant lesion was mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Most commonly involved gland was parotid gland. In parotid gland, most common lesions were benign. The overall sex incidence of salivary gland lesions in male was 45% and 55% in females with a male to female ratio of 1:1.2. Conclusions: Thorough knowledge of morphology of salivary gland lesion is helpful in final diagnosis in predicting prognosis, typing, staging and grading of salivary neoplasms

Perturbation Field in The Presence of Uniform Mean Flow: Doppler Effect for Flows and Acoustics

Having developed the perturbation equation for a dissipative quiescent medium for planar propagation using the linearized compressible Navier-Stokes equation without the Stokes' hypothesis \cite{arxiv2023}, here the same is extended where a uniform mean flow is present in the ambiance to explore the propagation properties for the Doppler effect.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figure

Evolution of Perturbation in Quiescent Medium

Here, the perturbation equation for a dissipative medium is derived from the first principle from the linearized compressible Navier-Stokes equation without Stokes's hypothesis. The dispersion relations of this generic governing equation are obtained for one and three-dimensional perturbations, which exhibit both the dispersive and dissipative nature of the perturbations traveling in a dissipative medium, depending upon the length scale. We specifically provide a theoretical cut-off wave number above which the perturbation equation represents diffusive and dissipative nature. Such behavior has not been reported before, as per the knowledge of the authors.Comment: 12 page 1 figure. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:2212.1379
