The measuring methodology of excess radioactive load caused by coal mining in the vicinity of Pécs (Mecsek Mts.- Hungary)

Beside several other harmful effects of coal mining on the environment (destroying landscape, dust and noise pollution), we must lay a great emphasis on dealing with its excess radioactive load as well, since it is widely known that some coal types'have a remarkably high radioactive element content. In Hungary the coal of the Tatabánya Coalfield (ZETHNER, 1958), the Cretaceous coal of Ajka (BODROGI ET AL., 1959) and the Liassic coal of the Mecsek Mts. are of that character. It is getting to be necessary to develop a measuring methodology that can be authoritative in land reclamation plans, environmental geological surveys on other Hungarian territories with similar problems and that corresponds to the directives of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency). This measuring system involves "in situ" and laboratory analyses, and as a result of this, beside the actual environmental impact analysis it provides further information on the geological setting of the territory. With an informative purpose we also publish the preliminary results of the measurements that are performed on the coalfields of the Mecsek Mts

Why do Hungarian civil organisations not like to co-operate?

This essay is based upon the fact, backed by research, that co-operation today between civil organisations in Hungary is incidental (KSH 2003, Bartal, Kákai and Szabó 2005, Nárai 2007). Despite this, the question to which we rarely or never receive an answer is which theoretical and practical causes can be specified. The author therefore attempts herein to outline the socio-historic, welfare-politic and practical motive systems which provide a basis for the nonco- operative practice of civil organisations, and based on which, suggest more effective programs and interventions that can be implemented in order to support collaborative practice

Alsóági kockázatmérési eszközök és portfólió-kiválasztás

A piaci kockázatelemzés utáni időkben legelterjedtebb és legnépszerűbb eszköze a kockáztatott érték, vagyis a VaR módszere, amely befektetői döntéshozatalnál a veszteségek szintjének korlátozásában nyújthat segítséget. A szerzők azonban nemcsak a VaR és a részvényportfolió-kezelés kapcsolatát mutatják be. Az úgynevezett alsóági kockázatokat (downside risk) elemző és bemutató elemzési eszközök köre meglehetősen régi múltra tekint vissza: gyakorlatilag a klasszikus portfoliókezelés megszületésével párhuzamosan fejlődött ki. A cikk elején az alsóági kockázatmérés eszközeinek bemutatására kerül sor, ezt követően a szerzők különböző portfolió-optimalizálási kritériumokat fogalmaznak meg és az eljárásokat szemléltetik a magyar részvénypiacon elvégzett számításokkal. Az elemzés során a megfelelő feltételek mellett azt is megvizsgálják, miként lehet ötvözni a klasszikus portfolió-elméletet és az ott használatos hozam-szórás diagramokat az alternatív alsóági kockázatelemzés fogalmaival és optimalizálási problémáival
