Evolution of smart grid assessment methods: science mapping and performance analysis

    Get PDF
ABSTRACT The field of research related to smart grid (SG) assessment methods is broad and fragmented owing to the contribution of the various disciplines and approaches involved. This presents difficulties in obtaining useful and unbiased information for future studies. Hence, a full review of the contributions could provide a comprehensive critical perspective. In this article, SciMAT software is used to determine the evolution of this research field through a systematic review of the literature based on 331 original research articles. In addition, hidden issues and their development in this field have been identified for the period 2009–2020 to produce strategic diagrams of the thematic evolution and performance indicators of the research field. The results show that SG assessment methods are important topics, and the research field demonstrates an evolutionary trend that has not yet reached a maturity stage in each of the SG-related research topics. The most important topics, such as electric power transmission networks and environmental impact, are highlighted, with a particular interest in the transmission of electric power, application of photovoltaic systems, and life cycle analysis

Geriatric assessment as indispensable tool for physicians, what does the future hold?

Background: Despite the notable rise in the elderly population in Mexico, it is imperative to acknowledge and address geriatric syndromes. The employment of geriatric assessment is essential, as it offers a comprehensive evaluation of elderly patients. Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was carried out on hospitalized patients over the age of 65, who underwent geriatric assessment performed by a multidisciplinary team comprising of a geriatrician, nurse, nutritionist, and internist. Descriptive statistics, such as frequency distribution, percentage, mean, median, and standard deviation of geriatric syndromes were obtained. Results: Polypharmacy was identified as the primary geriatric syndrome, with a higher prevalence among males (54.3%), followed by functional impairment, with a slightly higher occurrence in males (52.5%). Among the identified geriatric syndromes, frailty, anxiety, pressure ulcers, incontinence, abuse, and caregiver collapse showed no gender preference. The majority of patients were at risk of malnutrition, as determined by the mini nutritional assessment. Conclusions: The geriatric assessment is a valuable tool in detecting diseases in elderly patients and facilitating alterations to their treatment plans, particularly during hospitalization. However, accurate assessment of this population requires a multidisciplinary team, as it helps prevent geriatric syndromes such as polypharmacy, functional impairment, and malnutrition, which can adversely affect the elderly's quality of life

For the department of Loreto, 113 species of Euchromiina (Lepidoptera: Arctiinae) are recorded. In addition, 9 new records are reported for Peru: Sphecosoma abnormis, Isanthrene profusa, Autochloris collocata, A. consociata, Andrenimorpha lycopolis, Leucotmemis torrida, Cosmosoma contracta, Pseudomya biradiata and P. cretheis. Two new synonyms are proposed: Diptilon aurantiipes Rothschild as a junior synonym for Sphecosoma abnormis Hampson; Isanthrene flavizonata Gaede as a junior synonym for Tigrinadia quadricincta Kaye. This last species for now is known only from Peru. A new type of androconial organ is described in the ventral part of the abdomen.
