Individual heterogeneity and senescence in Silvereyes on Heron Island

Individual heterogeneity and correlations between life history traits play a fundamental role in life history evolution and population dynamics. Unobserved individual heterogeneity in survival can be a nuisance for estimation of age effects at the individual level by causing bias due to mortality selection. We jointly analyze survival and breeding output from successful breeding attempts in an island population of Silvereyes (Zosterops lateralis chlorocephalus) by fitting models that incorporate age effects and individual heterogeneity via random effects. The number of offspring produced increased with age of parents in their first years of life but then eventually declined with age. A similar pattern was found for the probability of successful breeding. Annual survival declined with age even when individual heterogeneity was not accounted for. The rate of senescence in survival, however, depends on the variance of individual heterogeneity and vice versa; hence, both cannot be simultaneously estimated with precision. Model selection supported individual heterogeneity in breeding performance, but we found no correlation between individual heterogeneity in survival and breeding performance. We argue that individual random effects, unless unambiguously identified, should be treated as statistical nuisance or taken as a starting point in a search for mechanisms rather than given direct biological interpretation

WikipediaにおけるDOIリンクの経年変化の予備的分析

本研究では，2015年，2016年，2017年3月時点の日本語版，英語版，中国語版WikipediaにおけるDOIリンクを対象に，経年変化に着目した分析を行なった．結果，(1) 各言語版におけるDOIリンクの件数は経年的に増加していること，(2) 各言語版において独自に参照されているDOIリンクは経年的に増加していること， (3) 日本の学術情報の参照記述は，他の言語版に比べて，日本語版において多いこと，(4) 日本の学術情報の参照記述は，各言語版において独自に参照されており，経年的に増加していることが明らかになった．The authors extracted Digital Object Identier (DOI) links on Japanese, English, and Chinese Wikipedias as of March 2015, 2016, and 2017 for a time series analysis. Promotion of Seeded Berry Setting on the Clusters of 'Pione' Grapes by Cane Pruning and B9 Spray on Prebloom Clusters

1.短梢せん定方式で栽培した‘ピオーネ’では,多くの無核果が着粒するが,これらは有核果に比べて著しく小粒になる. 有核果の着粒を増加させることを目的として,開花前の花穂に対するB9散布と,長梢せん定方式への切換えを行ってみた. 2.B9散布により,有核果及び無核果の両方の着粒率が増加したが,長梢せん定にすると結実した果粒の有核果率が高まり,ともに果房あたりの有核果粒数が増加した. 3.開花期前の胚珠及び胚のうの初期発育は,短梢せん定樹でB9を散布しない花穂のほうが早く進行したが,開花期においては,B9散布区及び長梢せん定区のほうが,完成した胚のうを持つ正常胚珠の比率が高かった. 4.花粉管の胎座下部への伸長及び珠孔から胚のう内への到達は,区による差がなかった. 5.山梨県内で‘ピオーネ’を連年長梢せん定し,B9散布も行っている経済栽培園では,さらに多数の有核果粒が着生していた. この場合も,開花日における正常胚珠の比率が高かったが,花粉管の生長には差がなかった

Wikipedia上のJ-STAGEコンテンツの分析: 研究分野を中心に

日本語版および英語版WikipediaにおけるDOIリンクの重複分析

日本語版Wikipedia におけるDOI リンクが記述された経緯を明らかにするため、英語版Wikipedia の翻訳項目の特定およびそこに含まれるDOI リンクの分析を行った。その結果、DOI リンクが記述されている日本語版の約94%の項目が言語間リンクをもっていること、また、それらの項目間での共通のDOI リンクは、英語版の翻訳を通じて日本語版に記述されたものが大部分を占めることを示唆する結果が得られた。第14回情報メディア学会研究大会 2015年6月27日 同志社大学 今出川キャンパス 良心

A variant Philadelphia chromosome (Ph1) positive chronic myelocytic leukemia.

A rare case of variant Philadelphia (Ph1) chromosome positive [46, XX, t (9; 22) (q34; q11), inv (9) (9q22; 22q13)] chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) was described. The patient, 73 years old female, was hospitalized to our hospital because of leukocytosis. Hematological findings corresponded to those of CMLs. However, this case lacked hepatosplenomegaly. Southern blot analysis using a 3 breakpoint cluster region (bcr) probe revealed a bcr rearrangement. The patient has been in the chronic phase for sixteen months without treatment. Clinical and chromosomal changes are under observation in order to get accumulate data for a pathophysiological analysis of variant Ph1 positive CMLs.</p
