    Understanding College Student’ Acceptance Of Online Credit Offering Services In China

    With the rapid economic growth in China, peoples’ consumption behavior is constantly changing. The online credit offering service is playing a more and more important role in China. In this paper, we aim to understand college students’ acceptance of online credit offering services in China. A research model based on technology acceptance model (TAM) with six research hypotheses is proposed. And an empirical study with 239 subjects was conducted to test this model. According to the results, 4 of 6 hypotheses were supported. The results indicated that both perceived usefulness and subjective norm directly affected college students’ behavior intention to use online credit offering services significantly

    E2.0 facilitates the efficient collaboration of employers and workers across departmental boundaries. The exponential growth of nascent enterprise-level social network platforms implies important impacts on employees’ daily working styles and the implementation decisions made regarding these platforms represent the significant digital innovation. Despite this importance, limited effort has been devoted to understanding whether company senior managers’ leadership influences employees’ commitment to E2.0-driven change. Using a novel proprietary dataset from a leading E2.0 platform, we investigate the impact of change leadership perceived by employees on the implementation of E2.0. The sample includes information on 575 paid customers (i.e. firms) with 65,407 individual users and 2,286 previous customers with 99,807 individual users from 2011-2016. Our research will provide key insights for several groups of stakeholders, including platform developers, company senior managers, and workers.     Interleukin-33 in Malignancies: Friends or Foes?

    The human Interleukin-33 (IL-33), a member of the IL-1 family, is the cytokine as a cell endogenous alarmin, released by damaged or necrotic barrier cells (endothelial and epithelial cells). The signal transduction of IL-33 relies on recognition and interaction with specific receptor ST2, mainly expressed in immune cells. In both innate and adoptive immunity, IL-33 regulates the homeostasis in response to stress from within/out the microenvironment. Various, even negative biofunctions of IL-33 pathways have now been widely verified in pathogenesis among immunological mechanisms, like Th2-related immune-stimuli, inflammation/infection-induced tissue protectors. A larger versatility in studies of IL-33 on malignancies now focuses on: (1) promoting myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC), (2) intervention toward CD8+ T, Natural Killer (NK) cell infiltration, group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2) proliferation, dendritic cells (DC) activation, and (3) inhibiting tumor growth and/or further metastasis as an immunoadjuvant. Although IL-33 functioned pro-tumorigenically in various cancers, for some cancer types the findings so far are controversial.     Long-term Microscopic Traffic Simulation with History-Masked Multi-agent Imitation Learning

    A realistic long-term microscopic traffic simulator is necessary for understanding how microscopic changes affect traffic patterns at a larger scale. Traditional simulators that model human driving behavior with heuristic rules often fail to achieve accurate simulations due to real-world traffic complexity. To overcome this challenge, researchers have turned to neural networks, which are trained through imitation learning from human driver demonstrations. However, existing learning-based microscopic simulators often fail to generate stable long-term simulations due to the \textit{covariate shift} issue. To address this, we propose a history-masked multi-agent imitation learning method that removes all vehicles' historical trajectory information and applies perturbation to their current positions during learning. We apply our approach specifically to the urban traffic simulation problem and evaluate it on the real-world large-scale pNEUMA dataset, achieving better short-term microscopic and long-term macroscopic similarity to real-world data than state-of-the-art baselines.Comment: updat

    Nonobese Male Patients with Alzheimer’s Disease Are Vulnerable to Decrease in Plasma Leptin

    Background:Metabolic dysfunction links to cognitive deficits in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Leptin is an anti-obesity hormone that modulates energy homeostasis and memory function. Although leptin deregulation is implicated in mouse models of AD-like brain pathology, clinical studies have shown inconsistent results regarding an association of leptin with the development of this neurodegenerative disorder. Objective:We investigated the changes of plasma leptin and the correlation of sex-stratified circulating leptin with cognitive performance, AD-related biological markers, and metabolic status in patients with AD and cognitively unimpaired (CU) counterparts. Methods:We used nonobese AD patients and CU controls in a University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) cohort. Plasma leptin levels, circulating AD-related molecules and metabolic profiles were examined and analyzed. Results:In contrast to unchanged circulating leptin in females, male patients exhibited decreased plasma leptin levels compared with male CU counterparts. Moreover, plasma leptin showed no correlation with cognitive performance and AD blood biomarkers in patients with either sex. Of note, females but not males demonstrated an association of plasma leptin with body mass index, high density lipoprotein-cholesterol and its ratio with total cholesterol and triglycerides. Conclusion:Our findings suggest that leptin deficiency is associated with nonobese male AD patients, supporting systemic dysmetabolism in the development of this neurodegenerative disorder in certain populations. Although plasma leptin may have limited capacity to reflect disease severity or progression, future mechanistic studies on the regulation of leptin in nonobese patients with AD would deepen our understanding of the sex-related disparity of AD etiopathogenesis

    Clinical Characteristics of Paediatric Pancreatitis Caused by Pancreaticobiliary Malformation: A Single-Centre Retrospective Analysis

    Background/Aims: To investigate the clinical profiles of children with pancreatitis caused by pancreaticobiliary malformation.Methods: We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of children diagnosed with pancreatitis at our institute from June 2017 to January 2021.Results: A total of 195 patients and 169 control subjects were included in this study. Twenty-six (13.3%) patients had pancreaticobiliary malformation-related pancreatitis. The average age of onset in the pancreaticobiliary malformation pancreatitis (PMP) group was lower than that in the non-PMP group, and the difference was statistically significant. The number of patients in the PMP group that had jaundice was significantly higher than that of the non-PMP group (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that total bilirubin (TB) and Îł-glutamyltransferase (GGT) (odds ratio = 1.096, P < 0.01) were independent predictors of pancreaticobiliary malformation-related pancreatitis in children. The positive detection rate of pancreaticobiliary malformation was 68% for abdominal ultrasound, 38.4% for abdominal enhanced computed tomography, and 91.3% for magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP). The recurrence rate (34.6%) in the PMP group was higher than that in the non-PMP group (15.4%, P < 0.05); surgical therapy had the lowest recurrence rate. Age at initial onset of pancreatitis was younger and the period to recurrence was shorter in the PMP group than in the non-PMP group (P < 0.05).Conclusion: Pancreaticobiliary malformation is one of the major causes of paediatric pancreatitis. Elevated TB and GGT in patients with pancreatitis may be suggestive for underlying pancreaticobiliary malformation not solely to pancreatitis. MRCP should be used when pancreatitis due to pancreaticobiliary malformation is suspected. Surgery or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography-guided intervention may be helpful but further study is needed

    Janus Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenides

    A novel crystal configuration of sandwiched S-Mo-Se structure (Janus SMoSe) at the monolayer limit has been synthesized and carefully characterized in this work. By controlled sulfurization of monolayer MoSe2 the top layer of selenium atoms are substituted by sulfur atoms while the bottom selenium layer remains intact. The peculiar structure of this new material is systematically investigated by Raman, photoluminescence and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and confirmed by transmission-electron microscopy and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry. Density-functional theory calculations are performed to better understand the Raman vibration modes and electronic structures of the Janus SMoSe monolayer, which are found to correlate well with corresponding experimental results. Finally, high basal plane hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity is discovered for the Janus monolayer and DFT calculation implies that the activity originates from the synergistic effect of the intrinsic defects and structural strain inherent in the Janus structure.Comment: 22 pages, 12 figure
