A multi-wavelength observation and investigation of six infrared dark clouds

Context. Infrared dark clouds (IRDCs) are ubiquitous in the Milky Way, yet they play a crucial role in breeding newly-formed stars. Aims. With the aim of further understanding the dynamics, chemistry, and evolution of IRDCs, we carried out multi-wavelength observations on a small sample. Methods. We performed new observations with the IRAM 30 m and CSO 10.4 m telescopes, with tracers HCO+{\rm HCO^+}, HCN, N2H+{\rm N_2H^+}, C18O{\rm C^{18}O}, DCO+^+, SiO, and DCN toward six IRDCs G031.97+00.07, G033.69-00.01, G034.43+00.24, G035.39-00.33, G038.95-00.47, and G053.11+00.05. Results. We investigated 44 cores including 37 cores reported in previous work and seven newly-identified cores. Toward the dense cores, we detected 6 DCO+^+, and 5 DCN lines. Using pixel-by-pixel spectral energy distribution (SED) fits of the Herschel\textit{Herschel} 70 to 500 μ\mum, we obtained dust temperature and column density distributions of the IRDCs. We found that N2H+{\rm N_2H^+} emission has a strong correlation with the dust temperature and column density distributions, while C18O{\rm C^{18}O} showed the weakest correlation. It is suggested that N2H+{\rm N_2H^+} is indeed a good tracer in very dense conditions, but C18O{\rm C^{18}O} is an unreliable one, as it has a relatively low critical density and is vulnerable to freezing-out onto the surface of cold dust grains. The dynamics within IRDCs are active, with infall, outflow, and collapse; the spectra are abundant especially in deuterium species. Conclusions. We observe many blueshifted and redshifted profiles, respectively, with HCO+{\rm HCO^+} and C18O{\rm C^{18}O} toward the same core. This case can be well explained by model "envelope expansion with core collapse (EECC)".Comment: 24 pages, 11 figures, 4 tables. To be published in A&A. The resolutions of the pictures are cut dow

Localized Malignant Myxoid Anaplastic Mesothelioma of the Pericardium

Primary malignant mesothelioma of the pericardium is a rare cardiac neoplasm. Most are diffuse and have poor prognosis with median survival of six months. In the paper, we describe a young male patient having no exposure history of asbestos with localized malignant myxoid mesothelioma of the pericardium. The tumor displayed significant myxoid change in stroma, and anaplastic cytology, including pleomorphy, poor cohesion, prominent nuclei, with high mitoses, which led to difficulty in diagnosis. The tumor showed typical immunohistochemical phenotypes of mesothelioma, positive for WT-1, calretinin and CK5/6. Ki-67 labeling index was about 50% in general and nearly 80% in the most active areas. The patient showed better outcome. The report suggests the diagnosis of myxoid mesothelioma is supposed to rely on clinical data, and immunohistochemistry is assumed to be for differentiation

In the title salt, [ZnCl(C6H7N3)2]Cl·2H2O, the pyridine-2-carboximidamide ligands chelate to the ZnII atom, which is also coordinated by a Cl atom. The ZnII atom shows a trigonal–bipyramidal coordination, with the pyridyl N atoms occupying the axial positions. The cation, anion and water molecules are linked by N—H⋯Cl, N—H⋯O, O—H⋯Cl and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure

Application of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in shipyard project investment Risk Recognition

Risk Recognition is an important part in shipyard project risk management. The purpose of this paper is to explain how to identify risks by means of AHP. Firstly, we analyzed briefly the superiority of AHP in shipyard project risk Recognition; secondly, expounded the basic steps of risk Recognition based on AHP in shipyard project investment; then we proposed the principle and tips of applying AHP in identifying project risks by demonstrating a case of shipbuilding base. To prove the validity of AHP, we have identified the risk factors of the Shipyard project that mentioned in the case above, and have also calculated the influence weights taxis of dominating risk factors to the general risk. Key words: Shipyard Project Investment; AHP; Risk Recognition; Risk Factor

Differential quadrature solutions to dynamic response of cylindrical shell subjected to thermal shock

    Get PDF
The dynamic response of the cylindrical shell subjected to thermal shock is investigated. Based on the classical shell theory, dynamic governing equations of thin shell with the simply supported edges under thermal shock are derived by using Hamilton principle. The temperature field, the thermal axial force and the thermal bending moment are obtained in combination of Laplace transform and series expansion when the internal surface of shell is subjected to thermal shock loading. Considering of the axisymmetric deformation, the transient displacements and thermal stresses of the shell are obtained using the differential quadrature method. The effects of the thermal shock load and the geometrical parameters of the cylindrical shell on the central deflection, the axial displacement, the bending configurations and the transient thermal stresses are analyzed

A brief review of neural networks based learning and control and their applications for robots

As an imitation of the biological nervous systems, neural networks (NN), which are characterized with powerful learning ability, have been employed in a wide range of applications, such as control of complex nonlinear systems, optimization, system identification and patterns recognition etc. This article aims to bring a brief review of the state-of-art NN for the complex nonlinear systems. Recent progresses of NNs in both theoretical developments and practical applications are investigated and surveyed. Specifically, NN based robot learning and control applications were further reviewed, including NN based robot manipulator control, NN based human robot interaction and NN based behavior recognition and generation
