Improving controllability of complex networks by rewiring links regularly

Network science have constantly been in the focus of research for the last decade, with considerable advances in the controllability of their structural. However, much less effort has been devoted to study that how to improve the controllability of complex networks. In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed to improve the controllability of complex networks by rewiring links regularly which transforms the network structure. Then it is demonstrated that our algorithm is very effective after numerical simulation experiment on typical network models (Erd\"os-R\'enyi and scale-free network). We find that our algorithm is mainly determined by the average degree and positive correlation of in-degree and out-degree of network and it has nothing to do with the network size. Furthermore, we analyze and discuss the correlation between controllability of complex networks and degree distribution index: power-law exponent and heterogeneit

Citrus chlorotic dwarf-associated virus (CCDaV) is a Citlodavirus species in the Geminiviridae family that causes tremendous economic loss to the citrus industry in China. Some proteins encoded by geminiviruses are crucial for the interaction between the virus and its host plant. However, the exact functions of CCDaV-encoded proteins such as CCDaV-RepA have not been investigated. This study presents evidence that CCDaV-RepA elicits a hypersensitive response (HR)-like cell death in Nicotiana benthamiana that was accompanied by the production of H2O2 and ion leakage, which suggested that CCDaV-RepA is a potential recognition target for inducing host defense responses. Furthermore, the rolling-circle replication motifs of CCDaV-RepA are associated with triggering HR-like cell death in N. benthamiana. Confocal microscopy and deletion mutagenesis assays showed that CCDaV-RepA was located in the nucleus, while the first eight amino acids (aa) at the N terminus and two regions located between aa residues 122-263 and 220-264 of RepA were not associated with nuclear localization. Tobacco rattle virus-induced gene silencing of the key signaling cascade components revealed that HR-like cell death induced by RepA was inhibited in WRKY1-silenced N. benthamiana. Moreover, WRKY1 expression was upregulated in RepA-GFP infiltrated Overall, the results suggest that NbWRKY1 positively regulated CCDaV-RepA -induced cell death in N. benthamiana. These findings provide novel information for further research on the interactions between CCDaV and the host plant

An improved joint non-negative matrix factorization for identifying surgical treatment timing of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis

Neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis is a severe neonatal intestinal disease. Timely identification of surgical indications is essential for newborns in order to seek the best time for treatment and improve prognosis. This paper attempts to establish an algorithm model based on multimodal clinical data to determine the features of surgical indications and construct an auxiliary diagnosis model. The proposed algorithm adds hypergraph constraints on the two modal data based on Joint Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (JNMF), aiming to mine the higher-order correlations of the two data features. In addition, the adjacency matrix of the two kinds of data is used as a network regularization constraint to prevent overfitting. Orthogonal and L1-norm regulations were introduced to avoid feature redundancy and perform feature selection, respectively, and confirmed 14 clinical features. Finally, we used three classifiers, random forest, support vector machine, and logistic regression, to perform binary classification of patients requiring surgery. The results show that when the features selected by the proposed algorithm model are classified by random forest, the area under the ROC curve is 0.8, which has high prediction accuracy

The mechanism of Renshen-Fuzi herb pair for treating heart failure—Integrating a cardiovascular pharmacological assessment with serum metabolomics

Background: Renshen-Fuzi herb pair (RS-FZ) is often used in the clinical treatment of heart failure (HF) and has a remarkable therapeutic effect. However, the mechanism of RS-FZ for treating HF remains unclear. In our study, we explored the mechanism of RS-FZ for treating HF.Methods: Evaluation of RS-FZ efficacy by cardiovascular pharmacology. Moreover, Global metabolomics profiling of the serum was detected by UPLC-QTOF/MS. Multivariate statistics analyzed the specific serum metabolites and corresponding metabolic pathways. Combining serum metabolomics with network pharmacology, animal experiments screened and validated the critical targets of RS-FZ intervention in HF.Results: RS-FZ significantly ameliorated myocardial fibrosis, enhanced cardiac function, and reduced the serum HF marker (brain natriuretic peptide) level in rats with HF. Through topological analysis of the “Metabolite-Target-Component” interaction network, we found that 79 compounds of RS-FZ directly regulated the downstream specific serum metabolites by acting on four critical target proteins (CYP2D6, EPHX2, MAOB, and ENPP2). The immunohistochemistry results showed that RS-FZ observably improved the expression of CYP2D6 and ENPP2 proteins while decreasing the expression of EPHX2 and MAOB proteins dramatically. Conclusion: The integrated cardiovascular pharmacological assessment with serum metabolomics revealed that RS-FZ plays a crucial role in the treatment of HF by intervening in CYP2D6, EPHX2, MAOB, and ENPP2 target proteins. It provides a theoretical basis for RS-FZ for treating HF

Development of Bottom-Blowing Copper Smelting Technology: A Review

    No full text
Bottom-blowing copper smelting technology was initiated and developed in China in the 1990s. Injection of oxygen-enriched high-pressure gas strongly stirs the molten bath consisting of matte and slag. Rapid reaction at relatively lower temperatures and good adaptability of the feed materials are the main advantages of this technology. Development and optimisation of bottom-blowing copper smelting technology were supported by extensive studies on the thermodynamics of the slag and the fluid dynamic of the molten bath. The history of technological development and fundamental studies related to this technology are reviewed in this paper

In China’s new normal, a strategy named “Made in China 2025” was proposed to speed up the manufacturing’s transformation and upgrading. The hardship of China’s manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading are the limit capability of independent innovation, the complexity and variability for competitive environment and the existence of institutional hurdles. At present, China is facing the powers of the industry from manufacturing to major, The paper will use factor analysis method to construct the evaluation index system of innovation-driven ability of Chinese manufacturing industry, and established evaluation model of innovation-driven ability of Chinese manufacturing industry. Based on the analysis of the model, the paper will propose the innovation driving strategy to speed up manufacturing transformation and upgrading
