Effects of different doses of melamine in the diet on melamine concentrations in milk, plasma, rumen fluid, urine and feces in lactating dairy cows
The objectives of this paper were to evaluate the effects of feeding diets containing different levels of melamine on melamine concentrations in milk, plasma, rumen fluid, urine and feces in Holstein dairy cows. Sixteen Chinese Holstein dairy cows fixed with permanent ruminal cannulas were assigned to 1 of 4 treatments within a completely randomized design for 10 days. Cows were fed different amounts of melamine {20 (group 1), 40 (group 2), 60 (group 3) or 80 (group 4) g/day/cow} once daily in the morning mixed with a melamine free basal diet for 7-days adaptation followed by 3-days urine and feces sample collections. Melamine was found in all samples tested and its concentration generally increased as dose increased in the diet. These results indicated that different doses of melamine in the diet could result in different concentrations of melamine in milk, plasma, rumen fluid, urine and feces. Data suggested that melamine primarily cleared by urinary excretion, followed by fecal excretion in lactating dairy cows. Mammary tissue was apparently not a major tissue to dispose melamine, especially when fed a relatively low dose (lower than 40 g/day/cow).Key words: Melamine, excretion, lactating dairy cow
Study on optimisation of extraction process of Tanshinone IIA and its mechanism of induction of gastric cancer SGC7901 cellapoptosis
The objective of this paper was to investigate the extraction process of tanshinone ‡UA and its mechanism of induction of gastric cancer SGC7901 cell apoptosis. Extraction process of tanshinone ‡UA was optimised by orthogonal experimental method, and its effect on gastric cancer SGC7901 cell apoptosis was observed using MTT assay and electron microscopy. The optimum extraction process of tanshinone ‡UA was as follows: addition of a 10-fold amount of 80% ethanol, one-time extraction, and extraction time of 45 minutes. The study concluded that tanshinone ‡UA can induce apoptosis of gastric cancer SGC7901 cells.Keywords: Tanshinone ‡UA, MTT assay, gastric cancer SGC7901 cell
Structural influence on atomic hopping and electronic states of Pd-based bulk metallic glasses
Atomic motion and electronic structures of Pd–Ni–Cu–P bulk metallic glasses were investigated using 31P nuclear magnetic resonance. The hopping rate of P atoms was determined by the stimulated echo technique. Significant hopping was observed in all alloys well below the glass transition temperature. Increasing the Cu content to above 25 at. % increases P hopping significantly, consistent with the previous finding that the openness of the structure increases with Cu content. In contrast, P hopping is not influenced by changes of local electronic states at P sites, induced by the substitution of Ni by Cu

Spatiotemporal double-phase hologram for complex-amplitude holographic displays
This Letter describes an approach to encode complex-amplitude light waves with spatiotemporal double-phase holograms (DPHs) for overcoming the limit of the space-bandwidth product (SBP) delivered by existing methods. To construct DPHs, two spatially macro-pixel encoded phase components are employed in the SBP-preserved resampling of complex holograms. Four generated sub-DPHs are displayed sequentially in time for high-quality holographic image reconstruction without reducing the image size or discarding any image terms when the DPHs are interweaved. The reconstructed holographic images contain more details and less speckle noise, with their signal-to-noise ratio and structure similarity index being improved by 14.64% and 78.79%, respectively
Semi-Inclusive B\to K(K^*) X Decays with Initial Bound State Effects
The effects of initial quark bound state for the semi-inclusive decays
are studied using light cone expansion and heavy quark
effective theory methods. We find that the initial bound state effects on the
branching ratios and CP asymmetries are small. In the light cone expansion
approach, the CP-averaged branching ratios are increased by about 2% with
respect to the free -quark decay. For , the
CP-averaged branching ratios are sensitive to the phase and the CP
asymmetry can be as large as 7% (14%), whereas for the CP-averaged branching ratios are not sensitive to and
the CP asymmetries are small (). The CP-averaged branching ratios are
predicted to be in the ranges [] for and [] for , depending on the value of the CP violating phase . In
the heavy quark effective theory approach, we find that the branching ratios
are decreased by about 10% and the CP asymmetries are not affected. These
