In the title coordination polymer, {[Tm(C7H2NO5)(H2O)3]·H2O}n, the TmIII atom is eight-coordinated by a tridentate 4-oxidopyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate trianion, two monodentate anions and three water molecules, forming a distorted bicapped trigonal–prismatic TmNO7 coordination geometry. The anions bridge adjacent TmIII ions into double chains. Adjacent chains are further connected into sheets. O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving both coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules generate a three-dimensional supramolecular framework

Electromagnetic counterparts of high-frequency gravitational waves in a rotating laboratory frame system and their detection

We consider the perturbative photon flows (PPFs, i.e., electromagnetic (EM) counterparts) generated by the EM resonance response to high-frequency gravitational waves (HFGWs) with additional polarization states in a rotating laboratory frame system. It is found that when the propagating direction of the HFGWs and the symmetrical axis of the laboratory frame system are the same, the PPFs have the maximum value. In this case, using the rotation (the rotation of azimuth ϕ\phi) of the EM detection system, all six possible polarization states of the HFGWs can be separated and displayed. For the current experimental conditions, it is quite prospective to detect the PPFs generated by the HFGWs predicted in the braneworld models, the primordial black hole theories and the interaction mechanism between astrophysical plasma and intense EM radiation, etc., due to the large amplitudes (or high spectral densities) and spectral characteristics of these HFGWs. Detecting the primordial HFGWs from inflation faces great challenges at present, but it is not impossible.Comment: 29 pages, 8 figures, 1 table; corrected some minor typos; added reference

Angiogenesis and Vasculogenesis at 7-Day of Reperfused Acute Myocardial Infarction

    Objectives
This study is to investigate the angiogenesis and vasculogenesis at the first week of reperfused acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Methods
16 of mini-swines (20 to 30 Kg) were randomly assigned to the sham-operated group and the AMI group. The acute myocardial infarction and reperfusion model was created and the pig tail catheter was performed to monitor hemodynamics before left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) occlusion, 90 min of LAD occlusion and 120 min of LAD reperfusion. Pathologic myocardial tissue was collected at 7-day of LAD reperfusion and further assessed by immunochemistry, dual immunochemistry, in-situ hybridization, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot.
Results
The infarcted area had higher FLK1 mRNA expression than sham-operated area and the normal area (all P<0.05), and the infarcted and marginal areas showed higher CD146 protein expression than the sham-operated area (all P<0.05), but the microvessel density (CD31 positive expression of microvessels/HP) was not significantly different between the infarcted area and the sham-operated area (8.92±3.05 vs 6.43±1.54) at 7-day of reperfused acute myocardial infarction (P>0.05).
Conclusions
FLK1 and CD146 expression significantly increase in the infarcted and marginal areas, and the microvessel density is not significantly different between the infarcted area and the sham-operated area, suggesting that angiogenesis and vasculogenesis in the infarcted area appear to high frequency of increase in 7-day of reperfused myocardial infarction.

A novel estimation method of total flavonoids in an edible medicinal mulberry leaves by ultrasound-assisted hydroalcohol-acid extraction and HPLC-DAD

Mulberry leaves have been widely used to produce various health products. In this paper, an efficient procedure of ultrasound-assisted hydroalcohol-acid extraction (UAHAE) was established to estimate the total flavonoids content in mulberry leaves by quantifying their resulting aglycones (quercetin and kaempferol) using HPLC-DAD. Effective hydrolysis of glycosides to aglycones was achieved in an ethanol-HCl-water (7/2/1, v/v/v) solution at 75°C by ultrasound (40 kHz) for 60 min. The average contents of quercetin and kaempferol were 7.12 mg/g and 2.13 mg/g, respectively, in the variety of cultivar MC308, and their recoveries were 105.48% and 105.81%, respectively. The total flavonoid content of most varieties was between 4-10 mg/g, accounting for 80% in 86 species of mulberry leaves. With the increase in leaf maturity, the general trend of the change in flavonoid content was a decrease at first and then an increase. The highest total flavonoid content in commercial mulberry tea (CT 2) is 4.76 mg/g, and the DPPH radical scavenging activities were similar to the distribution of total flavonoids measured by UAHAE in three types of mulberry tea. These finding provide a basis for industrial-scale manufacturing of edible medicinal mulberry leaf products

Study on Accuracy of Gough P.S and Guo Stress Formula in Calculating Propellant Bed Stress under Quasi-static Compaction

In order to verify Gough P.S and Guo stress formula and its accuracy in calculating propellant bed stress under quasi-static compaction, the paper adopted electronic universal testing machine to perform quasi-static compaction on propellant beds of two different diameters, and based on experimental data, the paper obtained stresses of the two beds in the process of compression. The paper used stress formula to calculate stresses of the two propellant beds respectively, based on the propellant bed feed and experimental configuration, and the results show that, during initial propellant compaction phase, the calculations are greater than experimental results, when it comes to certain compaction phase, the calculations of the formula are smaller than experimental results; the calculations of the formula are slightly smaller than experimental results
