Active Multiple Plasmon-Induced Transparency with Graphene Sheets Resonators in Mid-Infrared Frequencies

    Get PDF
A multiple plasmon-induced transparency (PIT) device operated in the mid-infrared region has been proposed. The designed model is comprised of one graphene ribbon as main waveguide and two narrow graphene sheets resonators. The phase coupling between two graphene resonators has been investigated. The multimode PIT resonances have been found in both cases and can be dynamically tuned via varying the chemical potential of graphene resonators without optimizing its geometric parameters. In addition, this structure can get multiple PIT effect by equipping extra two sheets on the symmetric positions of graphene waveguide. The simulation results based on finite element method (FEM) are in good agreement with the resonance theory. This work may pave new way for graphene-based thermal plasmonic devices applications

A Parametric Study of Oxygen Ion Cyclotron Harmonic Wave Excitation and Polarization by an Oxygen Ring Distribution

Oxygen ion cyclotron harmonic (OCH) waves are electromagnetic emissions with frequencies near the harmonics of the oxygen ion cyclotron frequency. They are ubiquitously observed in the Earth’s magnetosphere. These waves can be excited by an energetic O+ ring distribution. Here, we perform a parametric study of OCH waves by an O+ ring distribution. We investigate the effects of ring concentration (ηho), velocity (vr), temperature (Tr), total O+ concentration (ηo), and wave normal angles (WNAs) on the wave growth rate and polarization. We find that four-wave modes are related to OCH waves. The growth rates and frequency range increase with ηho and ηo and decrease with Tr. The peak growth rate roughly follows the first peak of Jn2 (square of the Bessel function corresponding to the O+ ring) or cold plasma wave modes, which can be used to explain the vr and WNA dependences. OCH waves shift from the transverse mode to the compressional mode as vr increases. An intelligent fault diagnosis method using variable weight artificial immune recognizers (V-AIR)

The Artificial Immune Recognition System (AIRS), which has been proved to be a successful classification method in the field of Artificial Immune Systems, has been used in many classification problems and gained good classification effect. However, the network inhibition mechanisms used in these methods are based on the threshold inhibition and the cells with low affinity will be deleted directly from the network, which will misrepresent the key features of the data set for not considering the density information within the data. In this paper, we utilize the concept of data potential field and propose a new weight optimizing network inhibition algorithm called variable weight artificial immune recognizer (V-AIR) where we replace the network inhibiting mechanism based on affinity with the inhibiting mechanism based on weight optimizing. The concept of data potential field was also used to describe the data distribution around training samples and the pattern of a training data belongs to the class with the largest potential field. At last, we used this algorithm to rolling bearing analog fault diagnosis and reciprocating compressor valves fault diagnosis, which get a good classification effect
