Dlmp-based quantification and analysis method of operational flexibility in flexible distribution networks

With high penetration of flexible resources, operational flexibility of flexible distribution networks (FDNs) is important to ensure high-quality electricity services. This paper proposes a value quantification and analysis method for operational flexibility in FDNs based on distribution locational marginal pricing (DLMP). First, flexibility constraints are formulated from the perspective of node integration, branch transfer, and network aggregation of flexibility. Then, a unified analytical framework for quantifying the operational flexibility is established, in which spatial-temporal transfer of flexibility is modeled with the derivation of flexibility sensitivity factors. Further, a DLMP-based flexibility value quantification model is proposed with nodal net power as the unit for flexibility pricing. The obtained flexibility price can not only quantify flexibility value but also be used to guide the flexible resources. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated on a modified IEEE 33-node distribution system and a modified IEEE 123-node distribution system. Results verify that the proposed method can quantify the impact of nodal net power on operational flexibility and effectively improve the overall flexibility performance through the guide of flexibility price

HIV-1 Tat Promotes Kaposi's Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus (KSHV) vIL-6-Induced Angiogenesis and Tumorigenesis by Regulating PI3K/PTEN/AKT/GSK-3β Signaling Pathway

Kaposi's sarcoma (KS)-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) is etiologically associated with KS, the most common AIDS-related malignancy. KS is characterized by vast angiogenesis and hyperproliferative spindle cells. We have previously reported that HIV-1 Tat can trigger KSHV reactivation and accelerate Kaposin A-induced tumorigenesis. Here, we explored Tat promotion of KSHV vIL-6-induced angiogenesis and tumorigenesis. Tat promotes vIL-6-induced cell proliferation, cellular transformation, vascular tube formation and VEGF production in culture. Tat enhances vIL-6-induced angiogenesis and tumorigenesis of fibroblasts and human endothelial cells in a chicken chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model. In an allograft model, Tat promotes vIL-6-induced tumorigenesis and expression of CD31, CD34, SMA, VEGF, b-FGF, and cyclin D1. Mechanistic studies indicated Tat activates PI3K and AKT, and inactivates PTEN and GSK-3β in vIL-6 expressing cells. LY294002, a specific inhibitor of PI3K, effectively impaired Tat's promotion of vIL-6-induced tumorigenesis. Together, these results provide the first evidence that Tat might contribute to KS pathogenesis by synergizing with vIL-6, and identify PI3K/AKT pathway as a potential therapeutic target in AIDS-related KS patients. © 2013 Zhou et al

Prioritizing multiple therapeutic targets in parallel using automated DNA-encoded library screening

AbstractThe identification and prioritization of chemically tractable therapeutic targets is a significant challenge in the discovery of new medicines. We have developed a novel method that rapidly screens multiple proteins in parallel using DNA-encoded library technology (ELT). Initial efforts were focused on the efficient discovery of antibacterial leads against 119 targets from Acinetobacter baumannii and Staphylococcus aureus. The success of this effort led to the hypothesis that the relative number of ELT binders alone could be used to assess the ligandability of large sets of proteins. This concept was further explored by screening 42 targets from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Active chemical series for six targets from our initial effort as well as three chemotypes for DHFR from M. tuberculosis are reported. The findings demonstrate that parallel ELT selections can be used to assess ligandability and highlight opportunities for successful lead and tool discovery.</jats:p

A Study of Eye-Tracking Gaze Point Classification and Application Based on Conditional Random Field

    No full text
The head-mounted eye-tracking technology is often used to manipulate the motion of servo platform in remote tasks, so as to achieve visual aiming of servo platform, which is a highly integrated human-computer interaction effect. However, it is difficult to achieve accurate manipulation for the uncertain meanings of gaze points in eye-tracking. To solve this problem, a method of classifying gaze points based on a conditional random field is proposed. It first describes the features of gaze points and gaze images, according to the eye visual characteristic. An LSTM model is then introduced to merge these two features. Afterwards, the merge features are learned by CRF model to obtain the classified gaze points. Finally, the meaning of gaze point is classified for target, in order to accurately manipulate the servo platform. The experimental results show that the proposed method can classify more accurate target gaze points for 100 images, the average evaluation values Precision = 86.81%, Recall = 86.79%, We = 86.79%, these are better than relevant methods. In addition, the isolated gaze points can be eliminated, and the meanings of gaze points can be classified to achieve the accuracy of servo platform visual aiming

This paper presents a 2.5 Gbps 10-lane low-power low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) transceiver for a high-speed serial interface. In the transmitter, a complementary MOS H-bridge output driver with a common mode feedback (CMFB) circuit was used to achieve a stipulated common mode voltage over process, voltage and temperature (PVT) variations. The receiver was composed of a pre-stage common mode voltage shifter and a rail-to-rail comparator. The common mode voltage shifter with an error amplifier shifted the common mode voltage of the input signal to the required range, thereby the following rail-to-rail comparator obtained the maximum transconductance to recover the signal. The chip was fabricated using SMIC 28 nm CMOS technology, and had an area of 1.46 mm2. The measured results showed that the output swing of the transmitter was around 350 mV, with a root-mean-square (RMS) jitter of 3.65 [email protected] Gbps, and the power consumption of each lane was 16.51 mW under a 1.8 V power supply

Incidence and mortality trends of nasopharynx cancer from 1990 to 2019 in China: an age-period-cohort analysis

Abstract Background Nasopharynx cancer (NPC) is a great health burden in China. This study explored the long-term trends of NPC incidence and mortality in China. Methods We retrospectively analyzed data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 using an age-period-cohort framework. Results The age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) of NPC increased by 72.7% and age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) of NPC decreased by 51.7% for both sexes between 1990 and 2019. For males, the local drift for incidence was higher than 0 (P < 0.05) in those aged 20 to 79 years. For females, the local drift was higher than 0 (P < 0.05) in those aged 30 to 59 years, and lower than 0 (P < 0.05) in those aged 65 to 84 years. The local drift for mortality rates were less than 0 (P < 0.05) in every age group for both sexes. The estimated period relative risks (RRs) for incidence of NPC were increased monotonically for males, and increased for females after 2000. The increasing trend of cohort RRs of incidence was ceased in recent birth cohorts. Both period and cohort effects of NPC mortality in China decreased monotonically. Conclusions Over the last three decades, the ASMR and crude mortality rate (CMR) of NPC has decreased, but the ASIR and crude incidence rate (CIR) increased in China. Although the potential mortality risk of NPC decreased, the risk of NPC incidence was found to increase as the period move forward, and suggested that control and prevention efforts should be enhanced
