DEM simulation of the mechanical properties of SiC ceramic under pre-stressing
In this paper, the method of discrete element model (DEM) simulation was used to investigate the mechanical properties of SiC ceramic materials under the action of pre-stress. Using the bonded particle model (BPM), several different numerical tests (such as UCT, TPB, SENB tests) of SiC ceramic were established. Different pre-stress values were applied on the lateral surface of the ceramic specimen during the numerical simulation process, all tests were carried out at least 5 times with different random number, and the average mechanical properties results were calculated. It was showed that the existence of pre-stress has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of materials. It can enhance the strength of materials, while the force action on material in machining process force or action force the crack’s initiation and propagation was limited
Covariant anomaly and Hawking radiation from the modified black hole in the rainbow gravity theory
Recently, Banerjee and Kulkarni (R. Banerjee, S. Kulkarni, arXiv:0707.2449
[hep-th]) suggested that it is conceptually clean and economical to use only
the covariant anomaly to derive Hawking radiation from a black hole. Based upon
this simplified formalism, we apply the covariant anomaly cancellation method
to investigate Hawking radiation from a modified Schwarzschild black hole in
the theory of rainbow gravity. Hawking temperature of the gravity's rainbow
black hole is derived from the energy-momentum flux by requiring it to cancel
the covariant gravitational anomaly at the horizon. We stress that this
temperature is exactly the same as that calculated by the method of cancelling
the consistent anomaly.Comment: 5 page
Anomaly analysis of Hawking radiation from Kaluza-Klein black hole with squashed horizon
Considering gravitational and gauge anomalies at the horizon, a new method
that to derive Hawking radiations from black holes has been developed by
Wilczek et al. In this paper, we apply this method to non-rotating and rotating
Kaluza-Klein black holes with squashed horizon, respectively. For the rotating
case, we found that, after the dimensional reduction, an effective U(1) gauge
field is generated by an angular isometry. The results show that the gauge
current and energy-momentum tensor fluxes are exactly equivalent to Hawking
radiation from the event horizon.Comment: 15 pages, no figures, the improved version, accepted by Eur. Phys. J.
Wigner Crystals Phases in Bilayer Quantum Hall Systems
(This is a substantially shortened version of the original abstract:)
The Wigner crystal phase diagram of the bilayer systems have been studied
using variational methods. Five crystal phases are obtained. As the layer
spacing increases, the system will undergo a sequence of phase transitions. A
common feature of most bilayer Wigner crystals is that they have mixed
(pseudo-spin) ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic order.Comment: 19 figures. Figures will be provided upon request. Submitted in PRB

G\"{o}del black hole, closed timelike horizon, and the study of particle emissions
We show that a particle, with positive orbital angular momentum, following an
outgoing null/timelike geodesic, shall never reach the closed timelike horizon
(CTH) present in the -dimensional rotating G\"{o}del black hole
space-time. Therefore a large part of this space-time remains inaccessible to a
large class of geodesic observers, depending on the conserved quantities
associated with them. We discuss how this fact and the existence of the closed
timelike curves present in the asymptotic region make the quantum field
theoretic study of the Hawking radiation, where the asymptotic observer states
are a pre-requisite, unclear. However, the semiclassical approach provides an
alternative to verify the Smarr formula derived recently for the rotating
G\"{o}del black hole. We present a systematic analysis of particle emissions,
specifically for scalars, charged Dirac spinors and vectors, from this black
hole via the semiclassical complex path method.Comment: 13 pages; minor changes, references adde

broad resonance with mass MeV, width MeV. A broad resonance peaking at 2020 MeV is also required

Measurements of the Mass and Full-Width of the Meson
In a sample of 58 million events collected with the BES II detector,

Direct Measurements of the Branching Fractions for and and Determinations of the Form Factors and
The absolute branching fractions for the decays and
are determined using singly
tagged sample from the data collected around 3.773 GeV with the
BES-II detector at the BEPC. In the system recoiling against the singly tagged
meson, events for and events for decays are observed. Those yield
the absolute branching fractions to be and . The
vector form factors are determined to be
and . The ratio of the two form
factors is measured to be .Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure

Based on a sample of 5.8X 10^7 J/psi events taken with the BESII detector,
the branching fractions of J/psi--> 2(pi+pi-)eta and J/psi-->3(pi+pi-)eta are
measured for the first time to be (2.26+-0.08+-0.27)X10^{-3} and
(7.24+-0.96+-1.11)X10^{-4}, respectively.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
