    Offer Strategy Model of Integrative Negotiation for Automated Negotiation Agent: Multiple Equivalent Simultaneous Offers and Argumentation-based Negotiation

    Automated negotiation has attracted increasing interest and received phenomenal attention in the area of electronic market (e-market). Most of the studies on the automated negotiation focused on the distributive (zero-sum) negotiation, and their effectiveness is only illustrated in a single-issue negotiation between software agent-to-software agent interaction. In this study, we propose an offer strategy model of integrative negotiation for an automated negotiation agent and focus on software agent-to-human interaction. Our offer strategy model is based on the integrative approach and negotiation theory, which emphasize the importance of exchanging information among negotiators and multi-issue negotiation including package offers helping to achieve an integrative (win-win) outcome. In developing this model, we are incorporating negotiation strategy of argumentation-based negotiation and negotiation tactic of multiple equivalent simultaneous offers as an offer strategy to achieve an integrative (win-win) negotiation outcome. We expect that the result from applying the offer strategy model becomes more attractive and persuasive, thus may increase negotiation outcome satisfaction for both economic measure and social-psychological measure

    Improvement of retinoids production in recombinant E. coli using glyoxylic acid

    Isoprenoids are the most chemically diverse compounds found in nature. They are present in all organisms and have essential roles in membrane structure, redox chemistry, reproductive cycles, growth regulation, signal transduction and defense mechanisms. In spite of their diversity of functions and structures, all isoprenoids are derived from the common building blocks of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) and its isomer dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP). Optimization of IPP synthesis pathway is of benefit to mass production of various isoprenoids. There are two pathways of 2-C-Methyl-D-erythritol-4-phosphate (MEP) and mevalonate (MVA) for IPP synthesis. Prokaryotes including E. coli generally use MEP pathway whereas MVA pathway is used in eukaryotes. To improve isoprenoid production, it was performed the deletion of genes in E. coli, which are involved in both formation of fermentation by-products such as organic acids and alcohols, and consumption of precursors of MEP and MVA pathways, pyruvate and acetyl-CoA. As a result, we were able to develop a strain with improved fermentation productivity and carbon source utilization efficiency, the mutant strain was called AceCo. Higher lycopene production was achieved in the AceCo strain compared to the wild type MG1655 strain due to no formation of the inhibitory by-products. However, retinoids production of AceCo strain decreased to a half of that of MG1655 strain. Please click Additional Files below to see the full abstract

    Sequential whole cell conversion process for production of D-psicose and D- mannitol from D-fructose

    Rare sugars, which exist only limited quantities naturally, have received considerable attention because of its various specific nutritional and biological functions. Likewise, D-psicose (D-ribo-2-hexulose or D-allulose), a C-3 epimer of D-fructose, has many uses which include reducing intra-abdominal fat accumulation, protecting pancreas beta-islets and improving insulin sensitivity. Especially, D-psicose has only 0.3% calories compared to sucrose, while it has 70% relative sweetness. Additionally, in 2012, D-psicose was approved as a food additive and designated as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Despite such abundant advantages, there is no economical way of mass production of D-psicose. Recently, biological production of D-psicose from D-fructose using D-psicose 3-epimerase (DPE) has been developed. However, the conversion yield is below 30%, which causes an undesirable increase of purification cost because of the similar solubility of D-psicose and D-fructose. Thus, we addressed the problem by converting the residual fructose, after the reaction of D-psicose production, to D-mannitol, which has a low solubility. The sequential whole cell conversion reactions for D-psicose and D-mannitol allow a convenient and economic purification of both products.     KINEMATIC ANALYSIS OF DIVING BACK PIKE SOMERSAULT IN PLATFORM ACCORDING TO PLAYERS’ SKILL LEVEL

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinematic difference in Back Pike somersault in platform diving according to players‘ skill level and to assist them to improve performances. Ten Korean diving athletes participated in this study and they were divided into skilled group (n=5) and less-skilled group (n=5) and t-test was performed to find the difference at the moment of take-off between groups. The results showed that the hip extension angle was greater and the extension velocity of knee and hip joints were faster in skilled group compared to less-skilled group. It is recommended, therefore that the flexibility training of hip joint and muscle strength training to enhance extension velocity of knee and hip joints are needed

    DIFFERENCES IN TRUNK ANGLES THROUGH DIFFERENT SHOOTING DIRECTIONS IN WATER POLO PENALTY SHOOTING

    The purpose of this study was to investigate three-dimensionally the shooter’s trunk motion through 4 different shooting directions. Ten Korean national level water polo players who are right-handed were participated in this study (age, 21.60±3.20 years; weight, 86.30±8.86 kg; height, 1.83±0.05 m). To analyze the shooter’s trunk motion among different target, a three-dimensional motion analysis with six video cameras was performed.The analysis events were coking when the trunk was externally rotated maximally and release moment. A one-way ANOVA with repeated measure was performed as main statistical tests and Bonferroni correction was used as a post-hoc test. The results showed that there was statistically significant difference in trunk angle between left and right shooting directions. Especially, the posterior leaning and external rotation angles of trunk in cocking moment were bigger in left shooting direction compared to right one (p\u3c.05). These results suggest that goalkeepers predict shooting direction more precisely by identifying the trunk posture at coking moment

    Efficient hybrid organic-inorganic light emitting diodes with self-assembled dipole molecule deposited metal oxides

    We investigate the effect of self-assembled dipole molecules (SADMs) on ZnO surface in hybrid organic-inorganic polymeric light-emitting diodes (HyPLEDs). Despite the SADM being extremely thin, the magnitude and orientation of SADM dipole moment effectively influenced the work function of the ZnO. As a consequence, the charge injection barrier between the conduction band of the ZnO and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of poly(9,9(')-dioctylfluorene)-co-benzothiadiazole could be efficiently controlled resulting that electron injection efficiency is remarkably enhanced. The HyPLEDs modified with a negative dipolar SADM exhibited enhanced device performances, which correspond to approximately a fourfold compared to those of unmodified HyPLEDs.open442

    Ectopic adrenal gland tissue in the left ovary of an elderly woman: a case report

    Ectopic adrenal gland in the ovary is very rare case, and even more rarer in older women. We reported a case of ectopic adrenal tissue as an incidental finding in left ovary from a 68-year-old woman. She presented with bearing down sensation due to uterine prolapse for 5 years. Upon physical examination, uterine prolapse grade III, cystocele, and rectocele were observed. Ultrasonography findings showed 0.69 cm intramural myoma, and no specific findings were found in the bilateral adnexae. She underwent a total laparoscopic hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and anterior-posterior repair. The final pathologic diagnosis of the case was ectopic adrenal gland tissue in the left ovary and uterine leiomyoma. No eventful reactions were observed during hospitalization and after discharge. Although ectopic adrenal gland rarely occurs in elderly women and in the pelvic ovaries, it has a risk of neoplastic transformation and accompanying germ cell tumor and sex cord tumor. Hence, if the ectopic adrenal gland tissue is suspected during surgery, the tissue should be removed. Additionally, by closely examining the contralateral ovary, determining whether other lesions are suspected is necessary. If the other lesions including germ cell tumor or sex cord tumor are suspected, a biopsy of the contralateral ovarian tissue should be performed. Thus, gynecologists must have knowledge about ectopic adrenal gland tissues
